For russel's 11 rings, requires a mindset of a champion. Furthermore, if you put curry in old nba rules he won't be able to keep up lol cuz he is trained to play and be the best in his current era rules.

It should really be, so there I was in Boston, and this track athlete from San Francisco arrived and was so good, we didn't have to play defense and he made the whole team great. All we had to do was say, "Hey, Bill" and he would do whatever we needed. So good he was allowed to coach the team in one of the most racist cities in America.

John Havlicek was pretty much the equivalence of Kobe Bryant in early 60s until at least early-to-mid 70s. Played 20 years in the nba like a living fossil and made all star 13 times, all nba 11 times, the list goes on...

Havlicek was drafted in 1962 and retired after 1978. Not 20 years - but a very impressively long career. IMO he was overall a better player for his era than Kobe was - but his prime was long enough ago in the "unknown ages of the NBA" that too many people forget about Hondo.

Malone is without a doubt the best player with 0 rings and the fact that he's not even mentioned is nuts. * Led his team not once but TWICE to the NBA Finals and would probably have won both, if not for MJ. * 3rd all time in points scored, in an era where scoring was simply harder. Charles Barkley was 27th. * Durable as all hell - playing all 82 games 10 times and at least 80 17 times. * 7th all time in rebounds. Charles Barkley is 19th. I love Barkley and would have put him ahead of Allen Iverson, but to me, it's Malone 1, Barkley 2, AI 3.

100%. When I heard, "The best in this group is easily..." I knew the next words would be "John Havlicek." I think approximately zero people, including Heinsohn , would put Heinsohn ahead. Yes, Heinsohn was a six-time all star, a RoY, and a hall of famer; no disrespect at all. But Havliceck is a 13-time all star, 11-time all-NBA, 8-time all defensive, and also a hall of famer. @@tdl8472 his passing was way better. Kobe wouldn't even pass if he could. His one weakness. Kobe was better at dribbling and mostly scoring and shooting. Plus magic playing in a different era. A much tougher era with Kareem, Jordan, Bird, Stock, Dream, Dr.J, Isiah T, Wilkins, Malone, Barkley, McHale, Wilkins, D. Johnson, Laimbeer and Bernard King.

Dirk had one of the best playoff runs probably in the history of the NBA tbh. And he didn't being the only superstar and was 33 years of age so luka in all of his genius I'm not sure will ever top that or anybody else

Dirk's carrying the team in 2011 is arguably the greatest Finals performance post-Jordan Most people give that to D Wade in 06 but then you have to address the controversy and allegations of that series. Dirk literally had nothing to use besides his IQ and his jumper and still won.
