I think raspberries are delicate & tend to spoil quickly, I wouldn’t use them unless just before plating. I suggest either add sweetener to the “strong” coffee before drenching the lady fingers, &/or sweeten the whipped cream.
I was thinking the same thing. Nothing about this screams dessert. Sour raspberries and bitter cocoa and coffee with unsweetened whipped cream doesn't make me want to try this recipe.
It’s possible that she is making a dessert for someone that can’t have much sugar🤷♀️…I love that she made her own whipped cream though I’d sweeten it with some powdered sugar or leave it unsweetened and add a little sugar to the coffee. I don’t eat lady fingers so I’m unfamiliar with its sweetness. This may be perfect as she made it👍🙏🤷♀️. I can’t speak about it until I try it.
The only thing you might want to change is 1-really soak those fingers and use espresso. 2-next time, I suggest you do not forget the cream on top of your fingers! That is most important, dear. Another observation is that you did not add a cocoa/powdered sugar mix into the cream. Just some advice from an old Italian cook who’s been making this desert for 61 years! Great job but I’m sure you’d like to do it right.

I agree, I would have to add some sugar to the whipped cream! She said can sub Cool Whip, which is sweetened... I think she forgot to add sugar with the vanilla. Especially with powdered cocoa, which is bitter if not sweetened.

A very novel twist on a favorite of myself and many others. I would do a couple things different but I guess is one of the “ joys of cooking.” Instead of dumping entire package of lady fingers in and pouring coffee over, I will do half at a time. Put more whipped cream mixture on it. And put some of that shaved milk chocolate over whipped cream before rolling it up. Can’t wait to try it.

Whipped cream with vanilla and Mars-cheese taste awful! I’m not sure you are tasting what you are mixing up and then it makes me not trust you when you eat the results.
