Glad to see you back at it! 🍻 Always wonder where you get these quality rare clips of some of our best. Been searching for one I saw live forever... been so long I forget if it was AFI or SAG awards type show with a tribute/lifetime achievement thing to Will Smith. I'm alright with Will, but Mos Def had an incredible freestyle more about everyone in the audience. Sure seems like that was a legendary moment you might appreciate.
Yes indeed. We all miss you George. You were, and continue to be, such a wonderful part of our lives. We the guitarists, musicians and listeners of your incredible gift that you shared with us. My generation lived through the most dynamic musical era ever. We are so fortunate to have been here on God's earth at the right time to be blessed with the music in you, God's gift of music that HE graced you with and you shared with us. As a True Believer in God Our Father and HIS Son Our Saviour Jesus Christ...I do hope that you, in your heart, knew Yeshua for who HE is: The Way, The Truth and The Life. And no one comes to The Father except through HIM. Just like you, I as a young man followed the Eastern religions and philosophies on that long road that leads us to nowhere. I truly believe that you did discover that Truth of Truths before you left this world. You being a deep thinker and seeker of The Truth...how could you have not seen. Yes, I do believe that you did. That above all else is my hope for you, and all who truly seek the Truth. We will see you in Heaven my friend. And, BTW, say hello to my son, Jade, who went to be with Our Lord on April 6th, 2016. He is also a guitarist like you and I. Play and sing your praises to Our Lord along with that Heavenly choir. I'm sure the music is sweeter with you and my son playing and giving thanks. God Bless you.
George referred to them as "husbands in law". ...and during their 1980s Japan tour, George banged Eric's chick in a Tokyo hotel all weekend. After that, they were "even". Lmfao
@@clicheguevara5282 we are never banged. We may enjoy sex, make love, sleep with but any woman would Refer not to be banged. Please try to use language that reflects the possibility that someone may have enjoyed the event.
They were very promiscuous. Especially George, as later emerged he had an affair also with Eric's wife Lory at the time. I guess they all compromised in some way.
Iconic duo, George was an essential part of the Beatles and his work with Clapton was beautiful. While my guitar gently weeps is an experience all in itself
I didn't know him personally so I can't say he was the best we all can be okay... I don't believe in that worshiping game... What I do know he was a great artist... And thats the only thing folks should be concerned about... Priority
@@pgroove163 No, I'm pretty sure we should value being a great person more than being a great artist. Productivity is not the point of life. It's about what we do every day to affect each other.
@@joe22589 The ole prisoner of the moment when watching a RU-vid video of said artist and projecting ones feelings out into a Comment section lol when you could just say you are a George Harrison fan.
I’d just like to say, I saw George driving his white Mercedes sports car in London & said hi, I saw him play live with the Beatles in 1964, Eric played at a private concert at my son’s school, both legends, how lucky was I.
Hey friend, I hope that you are okay buddy... I truly do love and support you. I hope you know that you are never without friendship or companionship:) I love you friend... keep being you. Rock on ❤you are beautiful, and worth all of life.
@@urbaniteurbanizer1612 Hello UU, I’m not sure if I can disclose the name of the school without authorisation (data protection act) however what I will say it Eric’s daughter was in the same year as my son. She asked her Dad to come and play. He played an acoustic concert on his own, in 2003, & told us a little about his life and relationship with George Harrison. I have a photograph, if you ever meet him, or his daughter they will confirm. Take care.
I wish that George and Eric had recorded a studio album together as a duo. Well, at least we have many songs featuring the two of them in almost forty years of friendship to make a nice compilation.
Everybody talks about how Eric stole George's wife and how they remained friends. No one ever mentions the fact that George had an affair with Maureen, Ringo's wife while married to Pattie. It was a furious Pattie who informed Ringo of the affair.
Marriage didn't mean monogamy to these guys, they banged anyone they wanted and the wives stayed home, in fact Eric cheated on Patty in his first few weeks of marriage.
George slept with Ringo's wife. Even John was shocked by that. That's a full-on shitty thing to do but then again Ringo was a violent drunk and was treating her like shit and she needed someone to appreciate her. Basically, George still took advantage of that instead of comforting her as a friend and telling Ringo to stop hitting his wife. People love Ringo but he also beat the shit out of Barbara Bach and hospitalised her. Apparently, that's when he got sober, but if it takes you 20 years of beating women to realise it is wrong you are not a great guy.
What a wonderful tribute about two dear friends who seemed to truly appreciate each other and cherish their friendship above human frailty. They’re both icons but just dear people as well.
Beautiful video. Fantastic humans making fantastic music. "Here Comes the Sun" creation story is great ! I will never play it again the same way. I will remember of George. Facetious Ringo made me cry ! Great people !
It’s so sweet to hear them talk about each other. You know they are genuine friends. I loved George the first time I saw him and now I know it’s because he was a lovely human being and it must have come across.
Funny but as I grew up I realise lots Inc, why the Cool girls loved George, pop heads swooned over Paul, a few hippie & intellect types cried for John, but, the deep Cool chicks Followed George ✌️😉😏
I Virtually cry every time I play Sweet Lord, watching Eric & George together gets me there, the Love is Cosmic. the Sentiment , Universal, Bless U George, & Eric ❤🦘🖖🙂
It's very evident that a core group of people had incredible affection for George. Not all musicians but it seemed like the people who knew him felt his soul and had great love for him. The concert for George is not just a tribute concert its a celebration of all their love for George
If you are into astrology, his birthday was 25th February so he was a Pisces. The people who were born under that sign are very loving caring, gentle and enormously creative star people and always happy to help out when they can. Very spiritual people.
What a lovely tribute. Ringo's last statement was a bit cut off. When George offered to come with Ringo he was talking about Ringo going to visit his daughter who was undergoing life saving surgery. George meant it even though he was days away from passing himself. He was a great friend.
yeah, those guys were inspiring a lot of musicians back then, just hearing the latest from the Beatles, Derek & the Dominoes, Cream, George Harrison, Clapton, Layla, & so it is once again, hearing some of the back-story that inhabits our understanding of these great artists. Thanks.
We had brilliant Eric Bryce music teacher & Sifu, half the album's we studied were Beatles & one criteria was the Ear of Geo Martin We devoted 20% lessons to our ears, Clever Mr Bryce, Thank U,
Eric Clapton is the only non Beatle to appear on an official Beatles studio album (1968/‘the white album’) and also on at least one of each of the post Beatle member solo albums. Fun fact I was reading up on earlier, although Preston also appears on a few he didn’t play on a few of the other guys solo albums, like Klaus Voorman too. This just May be a side Ranger badge that poorly reported thing with van Morrison that was reported to be an anti mask or whatever thing but it was basically a song written and made for charity like Dave Grohl and other artists have also done to hell fund and support people like stage crew and people that had relied on concerts and the revenue they bring in. And so unfortunately I feel sometimes that Eric has in some ignorant comment or point-missing-intention, first off that thing was just performed by him, it was all Van Morrison’s words and sentiment. But between like people making conclusions about him based on things he may have said when he was at the worst point in his life with substance abuse and drink and drugs and the fact that anyone has said some dumb bs type stuff they wouldn’t have said if they weren’t blackout. That’s not to say it’s not problematic without that variable but he has made amends and has done a lot more positive things with his life and career since becoming sober in 1981. So he was sober when his son tragically fell from the window and died but there was this great Anthony jeselink joke that makes fun of it in an edgy but funny and clearly is intending to be a shocking joke. Something about what’s the difference between a bag of Cocaine and Eric’s son, Clapton would have jumped out the window to save the coke but not his son. Which yeah kind of edgy and funny but it’s also non chronological and he wasn’t even in the house the son was being watched by a nanny and Eric approached the building as saw fire trucks and cops and emt’s and had to find out that the reason people were there was because of his son Connor accidentally falling from an insecure open sliding window pane and fell some 15-20 stories or so. So yeah that kind of played out getting that overly dragged and seemingly becoming less and less rated, even though Eddie Van Halen’s only noted verbally shared guitar influence was cream and Layla era Eric Clapton. So it’s a bummer to see him sometimes unfairly dragged through the mud unfairly lately because of weird press and bad outdated long since forgiven and amended past personal relational or social things. And I think Clapton is one of the first guitar gods, even before Hendrix, which they ofc became close friends and the night before Jimi died they both were seeing a Sly Stone show and Eric had seen a rare left handed guitar and he bought it to give to Jimi as a gift. And then he died the next day or weekend and Clapton said “all of the sudden I’m overwhelmed with the loss of a new found friend and was filled with the grief and now had this left hand strat gift that can no longer be given to it’s intended recipient. Real talk. Clapton helped me get sober from heroin. I’m 7+ years clean and I went to crossroads center Antigua. The place he founded and gives free scholarship for treatment to the locals living in the West Indies and native to the region, it was a wonderful experience and many people forget that he literally sold all of his most treasured guitars including the classic cream era red Gibson 335 and his career long used iconic “Blackie” Fender Stratocaster, and over 80% of the proceeds for his Crossroads Guitar Festivals he’s done over the country, giving platform to incredible artists, both legacy and contemporary exceptional musicians and especially rock and blues and rhythm and grooves. I got to see and shake the hand of BB King and Hubert Sumlin (the man who played WITH Robert Johnson) and also Johnny Winter and Gregg Allman Derek Trucks, Billy Gibbons, Robert Randolph, Gary Clark Jr, Robert cray, jimmy vaughan Joe bonamassa john mayer Sheryl crow Bonnie Rait Steve winwood Jeff Beck, I have been to three of them and they all have been worth it, such a great group of people and community of like mind fans and also has turned me on to many artists and I swore when I shook BB Kings hand after the show out of pure luck I felt like I leveled up x5 on guitar lol jk but for real that’s a memory for the ages. Long live LIVE music! Thanks for reading and tolerating my overly rambly post. Love Blessings Peace to each and everyone! :D
This is quite well done and enjoyable to watch... thanks Here’s something you can consider in the relationship of these two men During the performance of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” at The Concert for Bangladesh as they square off to trade licks at the end of the song, EC is completely subdued and humble with a big hollow body guitar, unsuitable for screaming licks, and with his eyes and smile he encourages George to rip it up with the white strat as if to say “This is YOUR moment to shine, not mine!”
George Harrison's two greatest collaborations, George and the Beatles, and George and Eric Clapton. George and Eric complemented eachother perfectly. Their respective virtuosity was, and will always remain, a match made in musical nirvana. I remain humble in their respective brilliance. Two guitarists who still shape how I view the guitar. And so amazing when playing together. 😊
I have been fortunate to have a friendship like that (minus the wife sharing) for nearly 40 years. Our friendship developed out of work when I was an intern/reporter at a TV station and he was a cameraman. Both of us were green as could be. Over the years we worked together in different capacities, making all manner of medical videos and documentaries. Our ability to use our divergent skills to create work seen by a lot of people transcended into our friendship. To this day I can't believe how lucky I am to have that friendship.
George, forever loved. When Eric was asked about being a Beatle, his laughter was wonderful. Clapton is a legend in his own right. Be well, mr. Clapton.
A fantastic video thanks these too where the best of friends and it shows loved this they both understood one another both fab musicians I miss george thanks Eric for your contribution to music 👏👏👏👏🙏
