It's easier said than done to get out of an abusive relationship!! It took me five years to finally get out.if it hadn't been for my sisters not giving up on me, I don't want to think about how it could have ended!! Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishborne were definitely robbed of a Grammy for their performance in this movie.i Love Angella in all the movies she has done!! And also her playing a police seargent on the series 911!!
Good thing tina left that tyrant ike before he did kill her at least she found happiness with her 2nd husband when she moved to Switzerland where they lived together in happiness when she passed.

Watched this movie on Disney+ a couple of weeks ago and I didn't know that Tina was abused by her husband, it was like learning history about her life.
@@anthonysavio3875it was. Tina herself said so. This movie really made Ike look Ike look like a monster. He DID have sins and did things that were wrong. But he didn’t do all of it. He didn’t grape her or nothing like that. Tina herself is an aggressive women which they don’t show.
He played this so well it just triggers people going through or having been through abuse. As ugly as that is, damn that’s what good acting is all about. I’m sure Angela Bassett was so deep in it too she felt the trauma too. Acting is weird like that.
Anyone interested in learning about the real Ike and Tina Turner should watch an informative doc- Ike and Tina Turner Revue (Solid Gold Soul collection). It will bring some clarity after watching their caricatures in movies, skits and media clips.
