“Willie stop screaming!” - Most people when watching this movie the first time.

Fun fact the big thuggee dude who died in the grinder is played by Pat Roach. The guy who played the big burly dude who beat the crap out of Indy during the plane fight in Raiders.

I was super excited to see Ke Huy Quan returning to the big screen last year. It's so nice to see how he remained a great actor even years later as an adult.

The actor playing Short Round also played Data in the Goonies along side a baby Thanos.

The bugs are worse when you find out they're not fake. Nor were her reactions.

As annoying as Willie is, I can't really blame her XD She was basically kidnapped, and thrown into a jungle full of things that can kill her, accompanied by a dude who first threatened her life. Then she nearly died at least 3 times. And mind you, none of it was her own doing, she had no prep for this. I can't say I'd do much better if I was in her shoes XD

Fun Fact: This and Gremlins is what drove the MPAA to create a new rating, which was PG-13. They were both rated PG.

This one is my favorite in the Indiana Jones franchise! Even though it’s very dark, that’s what makes it stand out from the other movies (in my opinion).

This film was my favorite one when I was younger. Now I prefer the first one but I really like how different Temple of doom is compared to Raiders when it comes to pretty much anything, TOD has more action but Raiders has more of an adventure vibe. But the best part is that it doesn‘t feel like an unnecessary second movie/Prequel. Loved your reaction as always❤

Getting ready to watch your reaction. So glad you say this is the best one so far. I Love this one. It's not in many people's favorites though. Some because they think it is too dark, but most because of Willie. I like the Willie character for what she is. The fact that she is annoying. She's not Marion. By which I mean I love Marion, but there's only one, so let's make anyone else not Marion. Not even close to a copy. Indiana Jones was originally seen as more of a James Bond type in that he had a woman in every port. So we're not supposed to think of Willie as long term. Marion is end goal, and a changing in his life from Playa.

I hope to see you react to Indiana Jone and the Last Crusade and Kingdom of Crystal Skull.

I just realized that the part when they pop open the champagne bottles. It’s supposed to distract everyone from hearing the gun going off. And it really shows us how criminals and killers use their surroundings to get away with what crimes they commit.. I really like the detail there.

I know I’m gonna die alone on this mountain according to what my mom told me, but I really loved Short Round and wish he was in more of the movies. But maybe it’s just because I adore children.

The darkest and controversial Indiana Jones movie ever made. It's one of the reasons why the PG-13 rating was made in the first place. Even though it wasn't given this rating, DREAMSCAPE and RED DAWN were given this rating. The original plot of the movie was going to involve Indy finding a hidden valley filled with dinosaurs, but this was scrapped, while another plot outline had Indy trying to find the fountain of youth. They decide to settle down with mystical stones that can help change the world. The opening of the film was originally going to be in Raiders Of The Lost Ark, but was cut due to budget concerns. Another opening scene was going to involve a motorcycle chase on the Great Wall Of China, but this was scrapped due to China's filming policy.

I was 11 when I first watched this movie with my older brother. Now 17 years later we still chant "Kali Ma, Kali Ma" and pretend to ripped each others heart out.

This is why there were British officials in the banquet hall and why the soldiers at the end of the movie were using British army equipment. It's easy to understand why Indy survives all that happens to him. It's the will of the gods. Siva indirectly/directly caused everything from Indy finding Nurhachi to surviving the fast acting poison that took its sweet time to activate to causing the plane to crash but allowing Indy and Co. to live. Siva needed an outside agent to stop the rise of Kali without being seen as going against the ever increasingly powerful Kali. The only time Indy wasn't protected was when he was going up against Mola Ram directly because that would pit a devout follower of Kali against a White man that was not Hindu and that had not recognized the power of the Hindu gods to that point, referring to everything as superstition. Indy saved himself and allowed Siva to intervene when he invoked Siva's name and told Mola Ram that worshipping Kali was betraying Siva, thus showing that Siva was so great that even a non-believer believed in Siva's power. This would have given a huge boost in power to Siva to put down Kali which is seen when Indy overpowers Mola Ram after all the abuse and exertion Indy has gone through at that point. Indy wasn't hit by the arrows because he had to deliver the Sankara stone back to the village to honor the prayers the villagers sent to Siva and as a reward for Indy's belief. Indy survived in Raiders because it was not time for the Ark to be revealed to the world at large so somebody had to find it but not want to use it and still be alive to know that it truly exists. It's like in all the myths, the hero survives because he has the favor of this god or that god. Remember also, all gods except the Christian/Jewish/Muslim God interfere or intervene in mortal lives as it suits them. Deus ex Machina. ETA: I know, I know, I've gone a little deep here. But it makes sense.

There was supposed to be a scene after that bizarre dinner, Indiana and the British officer were talking and Indiana says that it's strange because Hindus do not eat meat most of the time. And the times that they do, it would not be that crap that was served to them. So he tells the officer to be on the lookout. The whole idea of the dinner was to make the audience who were aware of Hindu culture realize that something weird is going on but because that scene was cut its what led to making this film very controversial in India

It's been the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Gild Critics Choice, 2023 Oscars hasn't happened yet

1. Many folks don't care for this one very much but I do. It's all kinds of fun. 2. Just a small suspension of belief regarding the lifeboat drop out of the plane🙄 IRL Ford could fly that plane. 3. When I was in the US Navy I got to eat monkey (but not monkey brains) and dog in the Philippines. 4, Shortround is "Billy Badass"🤬😎 5. Disneyland already has a "Temple of the Lost Ark" so another one of the ride through the tunnel/mine would be cool too. Too bad they went woke.😭🤬 6. Kate Capshaw got the Willie gig because she was dating and later became Spielberg's wife. "Crazier than a bag of cats". 🤣

If you want to watch a great movie, see Dunga Gin from 1939! It's kinda a prequel to this movie in a way... Deals with the Thuggee cult, British Troops, basically the story Blumburtt tells Indy at dinner of the Thuggee revolt. Even has elephants, a rope bridge, AND a bald priest/evil dude! Stars Cary Grant as well. It's action packed, funny, and a wonderful old school movie... Highly recommend it.

It took years to realise this was a prequel, though I think Willie Scott is a downgrade from Marian Ravenwood, one - well, more than one - scream too many on that woman...the dinner scene always grossed me out too much, the monkey brains and the live and wriggling snake babies. Short Round (Ke Huy Quan) hasn't won the oscar yet, he's nominated though. He won a Golden Globe for the role, and he does deserve the oscar, Everything Everywhere All at Once is amazing. He was also Data in The Goonies and Kim in Encino Man. He left acting in 1998 and got a film degree and a stunt chorographer, he only came back into acting the same year they were casting for the movie, which adds to the storybook rise. You would not survive the inflatable boat, you'd be crushed from the impact of landing on the ground from the plane let alone the waterfall, but hey it wouldn't be a movie if it was super realistic.

But c'mon, he's a kid, he doesn't know any better.). I can't excuse the Indian dinner scene because I've had curry and cashew chicken before, Indian food is nothing like that. I also can't excuse Willie in general. WHY did she need to be there when she just fucks everything over for Indy? Not to mention it’s off putting to outsiders, thus can be used as a way of exposing non believers/spies
