Definatly a great option for those wanting a more affordable version, I'm a little tired of D2 steel but it does ok as a budget steel. The rattle is what keeps me from buying one mostly (would drive me nuts lol) and also not available in my area. But definatly a good buy for the quality your getting at that price. Grabbed on for my kid, now I want one. It feels really solid for an otf. Very sloppy sharpening job, No fancy details, but I like minimal. seems really good for the cost.

Tends to misfire a lot though, everyone making reviews saying it doesn’t but it does. Still a great otf for the price I happen to have both of these and I use this 100 dollar knife to beat instead of my more expensive knifes

I wanted a large otf for every day carry. After much research, I went with the guardian tactical 040. Just got it in the mail today from blade hq.. Its a beast!

I like almost everything about the knife, the only turn off for me about many OTFs is the that the blade is not centered in the handle. Is purely a personal pet peeve but for some reason we just don't vibe

It’s great. Got the tanto Super solid at least 4 times better than my Lightning. I’m surprised how good it feels. Mine hasn’t misfired once in 2 weeks and I fidget a ton every day.

I just got a ultratech with the hellhound blade it's the tactical version with some dlc on part of the blade,man it's bad ass,microtech makes some great knives 😅

My heart says microtech for the win period. But I remember 20 or 25 years back when I thought a Gerber Gator was a super premium folder couldn'tdo better. And it worked just fine . Until I fell down the rabbit hole. So I guess those type knives are ok. But I'll never go back . Devils done here I'm way to spoiled now.

I was surprised you forgot to mention the lack of a swappable pocket clip for the Lefty's. Thr fatal flaw of this OTF for me and many others i'm sure.

Great video man. I bought a tacknives warncliff with d2 and I can’t believe the quality. It was 170 or so but amazing crazy quality. No rattle and it’s almost like a dead lock with so little play when blade is out. Amazing. You should try them out.

Just received mine in Tanto and like it but it has horrible spring twang. What type of grease should I use on the spring .

I literally just picked up two of these last week. One week in and I'm super impressed. Solid construction, very tight tolerances, not bad for $100. EDIT: I forgot to mention, I got the dagger and the tanto.

How do you feel it compares to the maxace neptune?

Not sure what the fuss is with D2, it has almost 12% chrome content which is high for a tool steel, it shouldn't rust easily

Microtech is unreliable, and their customer service is extremely lacking, to be polite. I'll never buy another.

bought 2, did my own reviews on my own channel. Even gave props. to 2 guys who beat them up. I did part 1 and a Part 2. pretty much flushed down the YT toilet. because Im not a talking hands knife channel. Although I have have a sharpening service and a 100 knife videos. My subs dont give a shit. I bought them because they remind me of my favorite which is the lightning elite. I like the lightnings handle style. being blocky and wide. I did a more thorough review than most ever will. from sharpening to disassembly, the whole range. one of them, constantly misfired! the brand has no following other than them sending you a knife to review. which I call that BS! I bought mine I always do. the quality is just not there. big deal it's supposedly has D2 steel. Big deal. I've ordered lots and lots of knives, from bladeOps. their customer service is fantastic they've always been very good with all the ones I have returned, and have done credits for a different knife. for the under $100 buy I can tell you I was pretty unhappy, one of them worked and one of them didn't. I sent both back. and ended up finding a$60 OTF, that is absolutely flawless. and has D2 steel. well I guess since I'm not chopping down trees and can sharpen a knife anytime I feel like. and I'm not willing to spend big-time bucks on any of these high-dollar OTFs. it still comes right down to it. you can't beat a lightning or the lightning Elite for the price. I wanted so much to be happy with the SOS. but then again like so many it didn't work out. I've had all the OTS before. they all have their faults. and when paying three four or $500. it all comes around that a cheaper knives are the best value. but I didn't find the SOS one of them. I can get all of that high-dollar stuff out of my system when sharpening customers knives they went and spent all that big money but don't even know how to keep the blade Sharp. and I guess you could say that's really good for me.
