Is the Fuji X10 The Best Point and Shoot Camera? I certainly think so! It's an awesome piece of kit to have as just a point-and-shoot camera. Let me know if you agree or if you think there is something better...?
I still have my X10. Bear in mind that in the early days of its release, there was a sensor bloom issue where the highlight of a point light source would look like an orb or white disc. Fuji had offered its customers with sensor replacement. I opted not to do so as the sensor blooming didn't bother me that much.
I remember picking up the X 20 before a trip to New York back in 2014 and I love that camera so much it was sad when I had to let it go then I picked up a x100T . I took it to New York last month and so many amazing shots I will cherish forever. Something about the colors the feel and just everything about it.
I own the x20, have done for years and refuse to let go of it. Superb and very underrated camera. Only a month ago photos taken by the x20 are being used for souvenir items for a local castle. I even tested this against the Lumix X100 mk1 and to be honest I think the Fuji produced better images in all areas. I have more fun using it than my A7RII or A7III, enjoy!
I like to check groups of photography on Flickr. The photos with the X10, X10 and X30 are quite beautiful, is as if all of them were made by professional travelers but apparently they are mostly travelers thar document their cities. I tried to follow groups with the Panasonic LX100 and the Leica equivalent but the photos look just like snapshots, it seems the design is not as joyful, and I think the fact that the Panasonic lens is digitally corrected instead of optically like the Fujifilm cancels any advantage of the bigger Panasonic sensor size, which doesn't use it full.
Great camera. I have the X30, just a wee bit updated. Love it, but dont use a high ISO. It gets ugly. Super macro mode is great too. Monochromes are superb too. Enjoy and have fun
The X20 was my first Fuji X camera. Not only do the X10/20/30 cameras have a cute tiny flash, but the shutter is a LEAF shutter so you can sync that flash (or one in the hotshoe) to 1/1000 sec (full aperture) and 1/4000 stopped down a bit. I've had 19 other Fuji X bodies since I got this camera and it is still one of my favourites to have fun with. The new X-E4 body is only SLIGHTLY larger, but a lens with a range of 28-112 f/2-2.8 would make it HUGE in comparison. Enjoy the States....sounds like you are getting the grand tour.
Had mine from new (with the updated sensor) and I'm really only now learning how to use it. Most commentators are recommending to shoot jpg only because the results are so good right out of the camera. Playing with the different film simulations and 'recipes' is so much fun.
Just got back from New York and can’t recommend Brooklyn sail enough. $100 per person to sail around the city and get super close to the sites, but you can also bring booze if that’s your thing. That and the high line were the highlights of our trip hands down
I have both this X10 and the big brother X-S1. Both are my main shooters to this day from when I bought them new. I love both, No lenses to shlep around. BIg zoom range of the X-S1 for wild life, and this X10 for everyday street photography. The JPG from these two cameras are amazing. I do the film look thing with the jpgs. I never shoot raw with them as the jpgs are sooooo good! I keep sending Fujifilm emails asking for new X-S1 and X10 updated versions. Both would be awesome!
@@mrunderhill9308 I currently use these settings: 📷 Fujifilm x20 🎞️ Astia NR +2 Sharp +2 H -2 S 0 Color -2 WB auto -2R, -2B ..... 🎞️ Monocrome + ye NR +2 Sharp +2 H +2 S 0 WB auto (-2R, -2B) Exposure control (ev) usually between 0 and -2
Owned that camera after finding it for 100 bucks on ebay. Really good travel camera due to its size. I eventually upgraded to a Fuji X100T last month and I'm very happy with it.
Sounds perfect for your use case! For me, would be perfect with a 1" sensor and 24mm - 100 mm zoom, f2-f4 lens, Fuji simulations. Had x20 with good, not great, image quality, so for its size & weight wasn't worth it vs my APSC XT-20. Why doesn't Fuji make a 1" sensor point-and-shoot?
I admired this camera when it first came out and my brother in law bought back then. It would confuse the hell out people if you handed it to them as the try to figure out to switch it on at first… twist the zoom lens to switch on. I fancied getting one until I saw the second hand price! £250+ for a camera of that age! 😱
Would you say you need to do a lot of editing for them to look like film? I’m looking for a point and shoot that has the film look without me having to edit it all the time
What did we Learn today, post editing are more and more crucial today's photography/ videography. You can absolutely use pov less than 50$ camers to get that level of photography. ..let me go grab my popcorns 🍿
£235, you've been had! Only kidding mate. I got mine for £60 and it's a blinding little camera, so nice in the hand, feels solidly built, heavy despite it's size, the macro function is quite decent, and images output is outstanding i think.
Hello, I have no clue about shooting photos. I only ever use my phone. Now I have a child coming and I want something with a bit more character. If that makes sense. Would that cam be suited for me? I dont want to edit. Just point and bam.
So I’ve developed my own presets over the course of my career. I have different presets depending on the images colour and lighting. Apply which one I think is necessary for the photo and do tweaks from there!
if you're not in the need for a zoom lens, you could also take a look at the X100. It's a tiny bit bigger (I don't know how big your hands are, but the X100 fills my hands pretty much like the X10 fills yours in this video, so I dunno), has q pretty good fixed lens that will give you the 35mm look, and is actually filled with controls if you want to expose manually. THe sensor is bigger, the battery is bigger and it has a real viewfinder, I reckon the X10 only shows you the framing, but will not show you any other information like shots remaining, that kind of stuff. And it's about the same price too ! Definitely one of the best travel cameras in my experience. If you prefer the zoomlens though, there is the X20 that is basically the same thing but with a usable viewfinder this time and a nice X-Trans sensor, and the X30 is an X20 with the addition of an EVF, tilt screen and removal of the OVF
@@tomknibbs Would you say the flash on the X10 is better than on the X100 to achieve that special film flash disposable look? As I am thinking to get the X100T for just 450€ instead of the X10 but I want that disposable look
@@slch2261 I shot a lot of pictures with the X100S and the series can definitely feel like an analog camera with that optical viewfinder and by using it as a point and shoot. You can always use the flash of these cameras for the disposable look by using them at around normal power to max power.
I've been searching for this camera for months now but sadly no one has this in the used market anymore. Saw one but it was sold out real quick after it got posted, the X20 is almost the same except with the sensor change I suppose
Had an X10 some years ago... Liked its "form"... but the AF was not 100% reliable... which is a deal breaker for me. Sony's RX100 MK1 was next- nice IQ and form but again- erratic AF. LX100- same deal... Panasonic's LX7 is my "small form" buddy- great lil' camera all round...
What is it with dudes wanting to put their face front and center in camera reviews. Just show the camera and its photos - no one wants to see your face.
@@mredben I would expect it too in many ways, bigger sensor etc and the x10 being 3 years older than the A6000. But for a cheap easy to use little camera that you can get some decent images from it certainly still has a place. And at around £150 for a used one compared to an A6000 at around double the price worth it for a little camera 🙂
