@@aaronshortmusic I am strongly considering buying one - it seems to do everything my board does. Freeze, Octave, Stereo Delay & Reverb, and Loop. Seems like a no-brainer! Would love to know what you feel are the drawbacks.
@@ShaneHennessyMusic It’s amazing and would be perfect for you since you are traveling a lot. I say go for it! Hit me up if you’re in NYC and let’s jam in person next time!
Hi Arron. Nice video. I have 2 other amplifiers & cabinets plugged into the QC's 3/4 outputs - I think it' sounds fine, with a little dialing in. Is there a tone advantage to having the QC > Ritter amps > and 2 speaker cabs? Versus another pair of amps/cabs?
Intersting. Using rack mounted amps. Carvin ts100. Peavey 50/50. Ada microtube 100 and 200. Rocktron velocity. Arts sla Crown power base 3. Switch amps for different setups/models.
Very interesting review, I'm currently rocking the power stage 170 with my QC. Wondering if I should go for this and have the option of stereo. I do like having the tone shaping knobs on the powerstage (very quick to tweak in live situations, especially when switching guitars on the same peeset). Would appreciate your opinion/comparison on the Ritter vs. The Powerstage sound quality wise.
I’ve used the Powerstage and didn’t love it but it was with a different modeler. I do think the amp base sounds excellent and the stereo option is awesome.
Honestly, there are lots of compact power amps that may be a better option. Mooer Baby Bomb for example is so tiny. Power cord thing is neat! But why wasn't it angled, just like the 1/4" cables? Also amazing that they didn't solve the "pop" issue. So easy to fix.
The Mooer is only 30 watts and the Ritter is 280 watts. Also to be clear the 1/4” cables were not included, I purchased them from Sweetwater. The pop thing is slightly annoying but I just pull the cable before switching off. I think most power amps do this when connected to speakers but some of those have their own volume control that you can lower before turning off.
Sounds very good with strat. So does every amp in the world, which is not so for semihollow Gibsons. The test of the putting is in es335s and hollow archtops.
OK I can try other guitars through it but I think the Amp Base is doing a great job of just amplifying what the QC does. It is not my experience that every amp in the world sounds good with a Strat!
I think this one is not ideal for most musicians who leverage a pedalboard for everything. As you step into a more professional rig setup, this could lay on a pull-out next to the QC and either use a switcher out front or again pro setup the tech will handle switching. I have the Powerstage 200 on my Temple Audio board. With the modules I can simply plugin FoH or Cabs if I want.
Yeah you would put this in a cab and use a MIDI switcher but I’m not using a board so I think it is fine on the floor by itself. I really like how it sounds.
I agree. I am playing this every day and am completely satisfied with what I’m hearing. Having stereo cabs is even better. It actually sounds better than many boutique tube amps I have played.
I am considering buying this. Can you comment on heat? This amp looks absolutely perfect. My only concern is heat. I love small footprint though. Anyone can comment on this or any issues you've experienced? Otherwise, I'm buying one today. :)
So This eliminates the issues that go with the pain in the ass of carrying around a head and cabs in order to have authentic amp tone by replacing it with the pain in the ass of carrying around the quad cortex , a poweramp And cabinets along with a bunch of cables in order to mimic an authentic amp for likely well over double what you'd spend for the real amp! Hmmm tough decision!!!!
Yes (and I still like tube amps) but you also have the option of only taking the Quad Cortex and you have 20 different amp models and multiple captures over one tube amp. You also have the direct box, audio interface and pedal board built in. It’s worth factoring that into your decision as well.
@@aaronshortmusicI’ve been using the Seymour Duncan 700. It’s the exact same size as the QC, so I just rest it on top of it. Wattage wise, how do they comepare? I’m unsure why I can’t figure that out. But it does look like a great unit! But perhaps I really don’t need any of those feature besides the plug in the back is a great feature.
@@aaronshortmusic I love it! I’m old and just starting pretty much. So the modelers are new to me. It’s pretty much plug and play! I’m not sure if I can post a link, but I put a video up of how I carry it. I’ll try a link after this comment but it’s under SKB quad cortex mod (I think). By sweetampsbadplayer
