So i can provide you with some anecdotal evidence. I live on 10 acres with a 2 acre swamp/pond. Its a mosquito playground. Over the last three years since Scion was released, I've been treating my property with Scion along with Pivot10 as an IGR. Year 1: I performed a single application in late May. I did not need to treat the rest of the year. This year was a very dry year, so, I was not going to think its normal for a single application. Year 2: I performed my first application earlier around the first week of May. I had less control (I believe it was due to the lack of foliage. Year 2 I ended up performing applications on a 60 day cycle. It was an exceptionally wet season. Year 3: performed the first application in mid May and it lasted until August. We had substantial rain in late July early August and it caused a massive hatch of mosquitoes. Year 3 I performed 2 applications for the season. So from my three years of testing on my property with a 2 acre swamp, I came to the conclusion that it's a safe bet that I'll perform 2 or 3 applications a season weather pending. I did these at the high rate of .65oz/gallon. This year we are soft launching our Scion program to new clients. I'm quite confident in the control that it provides.

Another loaded question. The answer would depend on the crop. When I worked at a commercial greenhouse and nursery, they battled thrips significantly. Their crop needed high visual value. It will depend on a crop as to which is the greater threat and can cause the most damage.

Our company uses suspended polyzone for our mosquito treatment. Any comments on that product?

Deltamethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid just like Talstar and Scion. It's likely more potent than Talstar, but not as potent as Scion. I'd have to compare the MSDS sheets of that to the other two. I'm sure it works well. It's also probably a more active isomer of the synthetic pyrethroids compared to Talstar. Scion has the most active isomer of that class of pesticides.

What rate are you using scion?

For us, we use the high rate at .65oz/gallon and 1 gallon of solution is $4.93.

I get a 32 oz of Scion for $152.00 I use the 10ml per gallon according to the label. So that basically is 1.33 oz for 4 gallons. If it's a severe issue then I will use the 19ml or .65 oz per gallon. That stuff is potent, a little goes a long way. So in my opinion it's better than most products out there

If I use the higher rate then it's about the same price as you have. What I really like about Scion is I live in West Texas and the heat and sunlight are like the desert here. This stuff I don't have to add anything too it, it just does the job really well.

If you charged the same, yes you would. But there is a way to make more money with less trips.

Most insecticides are safe for people and pets once dry. Both Talstar P and Scion have this statement on the label. It's a different story with cats because cats are sensitive to pyretheoid insecticides.

🤣 Not sure it'll have the same effect. My best guess is it is a micro encapsulation that is layered with a uv protection.

@@ElevateApplicate Well now, I say we have an experimental challenge on our hands. Imagine if just y introducing a sunblock into the bifen , the time of effectiveness noticeably increases…save some $$$. It wouldn’t hurt to try on some side by side test plots.

Bifenthrin Plus C is basically what you are talking about. It is Cellulose technology

That is a good question. My view on that is to keep the price per season the same, which would mean that the applications with scion are more expensive. But, you are using a more expensive product. If you make less trips, you are saving a lot of labor, wear and tear on vehicles, windshield time, ect.

That my friend is a loaded question which I am not the person to ask nor to say. The truth is, it depends. If you buy a pyrethroid product that is 99% active ingredient and compare it to an organophosphate product with .15% active ingredient, the answer would be different if you switched them and their A.I. numbers. Always study SDS sheets of the products that you intend to use. The higher numbers of LC50 and LD50 means it is less toxic. Lower numbers means they are more toxic.

Neonicotinoids are derived from Nicotine. I don't think Neo-nics are the best for mosquitoes though.
