Hey Legends! By popular demand, we are back talking Mando! A show that once had promise. Will you be back for season 4? Please do the “Like”, “Subscribe” and “Bell” thing so you don’t miss a video. And sharing the video makes you 10% more attractive. Cheers!
The price of visual effects department are over bloated and I'm surprised nobody talks about it. Japan somehow mastered it, even in the early 2000's, guys like Takashi Miike were finding ways of making cgi look great on shoestring budgets. The biggest win for this Godzilla movie (and for us) is we're going to get more movies like it from Japan.
"I don't know if we have the resources. Especially for pirates" BECAUSE AS WE ALL KNOW, SPACE PIRATES WITH BIG SHIPS AND BIG GUNS ARE NOT SOMETHING GOVERNMENTS ARE INTERESTED IN GETTING RID OF!
Apparently not in fictional universes. In the real world the German Navy designed two of their newest and currently largest warship classes for exactly such operations.
At the scale of a galaxy, since in Star Wars civilizations are galactic scale, what appears like a big ship to us due to our bound to a single planet mindset, is probably a small fry in the scale of things.
@@mitkoogrozev sure the ship the pirates have is very small compared to a star destroyer or Home one etc etc.. but that is hardly the point. having pirates robbing trade ships and stopping vital trade lanes from being used is surely a huge hit to the Republics economy or atleast to the economy of some of their worlds close by (esp the ones we know trade with nevarro), so even if those pirates doesn't operate inside of Republic space, they should still be very interested in getting rid of them or protecting the trade routes, just like in real life.. look at how the US and Nato countries navies are sailing around the Red sea, gulf of Aden and Arabian sea just to protect trade even going so far as to protect and clear the area for nations like China and India which ain't part of our little gang as some of those products are heading to Europe fx and is vital for the economy.. having the Republic being so indifferent to trade disruption so close to their own borders on a world which they actively trade with just makes this universe (or faction) seem so idiotic and unlived in, really hammers home the fact that this is fiction and makes it harder to get yourself immersed into the universe which is prob the last thing you want when creating a scifi/fantasy show or well space fantasy as some would say
This makes me mindful of movies like Spaceballs and Airplane, where with repeated viewings you catch gags and jokes you missed before. With Disney Star Wars, in each additional viewing you catch additional plot holes and contruvances
Absolutely, but he DID accept the role, didn't he? Maybe the Quincy Jones hide the salami for all the rappers and actors did his career well, unlike P Diddy diddy.
I also thought that it funny that the Mandalorions had no ships, all got to Navaro despite that, had jetpacks, decided to fight on the ground, and never considered a boarding action to seize the battlecruiser to keep for themselves.
That should have been motivation enough for Bo's forces to help Navarro. Super commandos with jetpacks should have no trouble capturing that pirate Corvette, they boarded and took over two other ships before easily with less Mandos in S2.
Just like the more recent movies this show doesn’t seem to care about distance. A character can make a short trip to Coruscant like it’s nothing just like Lando was able to fly through the entire galaxy and recruit thousands of ships in hours. In a new hope they flight to Alderan took enough time to start Luke's training. In the old Thrawn books Luke took food with him because a trip would take days! It really makes the galaxy feel small...
I don't know if I believe this entirely, but apparently in ESB the Millennium Falcon took 3 months to travel to Bespin because they didn't have a working hyperdrive. I would believe at least a few weeks and obviously they had enough food for the trip.
this is also a big narrative problem because they want some places like Tattooine to be 'remote' for the sake of drama.... but the most important planets in the galaxy are are within easy reach when the plot needs them. You're making it clear to the audience that help really is 'just over there' at all times, which destroys dramatic tension. It's one of those seemingly small writing problems, until you really think about it and then it becomes a major red flag because it's a lazy writing problem.
That whole "We don't have the resources" bit was incredibly frustrating when you had all those pilots sitting around doing jack and in later episodes you see them scrapping Star Destroyers. If you don't have the resources WTF are you scraping Star Destroyers? Seriously The New Republic was dumb in the ST but the shows are just making them even stupider. It's why I don't care about Mon Mothma's arc in Andor. She's works hard to destroy the Empire only for her New Republic to be so incompetent that it lets the First Order rise and gets destroyed in no time at all. I can't understand how people think this slop is good. And apparently Ahsoka is even worse. As Obi-Wan said to Anakin in Attack of the Clones "We're going completely the wrong way!"
Disney: We don't have the resources Also Disney: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Yeah nobody making decisions at Disney can write anything relatable especially if it's about resources.
It's being done on purpose, they have to make the New Republic a complete joke to lead into the sequels which is the bigger joke where the New Republic and their entire navy is destroyed in the opening scenes 😂
They’re gonna retcon the stupidity of the New Republic under Disney as empire loyalists sabotaging them from the inside like that one guy to explain why they are so dumb but it still won’t explain why the resistance is the new republic and why they have leia again in the trenches instead of idk anything else like the senate
@PseudoNym13 anything to try and make sense of the lazy rehash by Disney and JJ Abrams to set up the same Empire vs. Rebellion dynamic despite the fact that the New Republic would have been the dominant force of the era.
Which is even more ironic because in legends the new republic loved it when they got their hands on a star destroyer, because contary to what is shown the ISD is the most powerful capital ship at the time that isnt a battlecruiser, out competing the MC80 in every way other than shields, generally making it a flagship for whatever fleet they were attached to. Now your telling me the new republic has access to hundreds of star destroyers and is just scrapping them all, not saving them to bolster their fleets, that is insane. Not to mention the new republic needs to assert it legitimacy as the new galactic government and that can only be done by maintaining a monopoly of force, not to mention the need to keep commercial shipping free of pirates. It's rather asinine and honestly it makes sense that after all the incompetence Luke was like, Nah I'm out.
I was SO flabbergasted by how easily the Mandalorians were pinned down in one spot with open sky above them... after ARRIVING via their stupid jetpacks. This show can't even remember its own crummy points
They also landed in the middle of the street with high points all around that they could easily obtain and use for intelligence gathering and organization.
Yeah, don't break down IV, V, and VI, in the same way or you will work out that is a fantasy movie trilogy with a lot of holes in the "reasoning" too. My me....
Absolutely!!! Star Wars died in 2008 People were always like whaaaaat you don't like the cartoons.........and now they are finally seeing how filoni has wrecked things
It's crazy how you guys dedicate yourselves to hating on the guy 😂 In 2 years you all will be crying and making up excuses to avoid admiting you are wrong. I feel sorry for you.
I think the writer literally thought the entire ‘population’ of a city is the extras wandering around the streets…not, you know, people actually LIVING or WORKING in the houses. They’re all the same extras of exterior shots earlier: they hired no new actors!
I love how to get to Coruscant all you have to do is walk out of frame stage left, then fly into frame going stage right. Travel time is so last century. We've got "the message" to spread. No time for travel.
I don't even know why the fat pilot would have to go there? Couldn't he skype call them? Yeah this episode makes that retarded GoT episode where the guy runs to Daenerys for help when everyone is surrounded by Zombies look smart.
Don't forget, the pirates were dressed a Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. Just Disney being Disney. And if i remember correctly one was named Vane? As in Charles Vane the real life pirate. Had a good laugh at the pirate stupidity.
does anyone else have a problem with Beskar being an alloy? an alloy is a combination of metals forged together. so to say that there is an alloy mine on Mandalore, means they are digging pre mixed metals out of the ground... and what is Beskar exactly? and why cant it be mixed together on literally any industrial planet anywhere in the galaxy?
The worsr idea in Star Wars history was the Mandolorians NEVER removing their helmets. This is stupid and unrealistic. And the fsct that Feloni made that up so that Pedro Pascal didnt have to ever be on set. Its absolutely terrible...
I just see they depicted rust on the canopy seal of the X-Wing. That is the one place where you really do not want to have rust, even assuming you have some kind of force field to seal the cockpit. Gee.....
Oof, didn't even note that Though to be honest, if we also applied real world mechanics honestly the Rebels fighters be the greatest mechanical nightmare and largest budget sucker, especially just looking at both the X-Wing and B-Wing. I think most mechanics working on either X or B-Wings be having high suicide rates, like with the F-111 It ironically makes the TIE series look more cost effective.
@@strategicperson95honestly mechanics would love TIE fighters, because they likely don't have to do much work because they likely aren't coming back from a sortie.
Thank you for counting the 33 pilots doing “Jack” because I was too lazy to bother figuring it out myself. Why should I when the show doesn’t bother anyhow. Beautiful
I'm lame and went back to count the number of rebel pilots and personnel in the New Hope briefing scene. There were like 40 at most (and I'm pretty sure a few were just ground crew) I also went back and counted the ships in the scene where they're approaching the Death Star and there's only 26 combined X and Y wings Just in case anyone cares....
They weren't, they were the S3 single seat variants. I almost want to say they held a squadron or two in reserve but the more I think on it the more I can't think of a reason why they would in that particular situation lol
@@darkhorse13golfgaminghonestly? It doesn't make sense to criticize that imo, because there are like 30 reasons they'd include more people in the convo. Engineers, leadership of whatever capital the x wings launched from, leadership in general, the team with the Death Star plans etc etc
One of my biggest hang ups not only with this show but star wars in general is how they always have this group of warrior characters meant to be super skilled mean motherfuckers who can eliminate even the scariest of foes, then in the actual battle scenes they're about as combat effective as a boy scout with a mac 10
Intilligent characters require intilligent writers. Also a little real world experience helps. Lucas had actiual war vets involved in his productions. These people don't even know any and if they do they snub their noses at them.
@@badlaamaurukehu No lies detected. It's insane. You have to know these days, a lot of people from different backgrounds are going to watch what you write and pick it apart. Your subject matter has to be on point in their specific professions. Same with She-Hulk in the court room. They just skip it because THEY don't know anything about lawyers? How arrogant!
@@LordHollow maybe the commander in charge of the escort decided he or she had better things to do? because apparently you can just do that without repercussions in the new republic....
In case you were wondering how important Gina Carano was to the Mandoverse, half of The Book of Boba Fett and the entire third season of The Mandalorian were a failed attempt to course correct after her firing.
I would absolutely pay good money to watch Mr T beating the everloving midichlorians out of Riva, Mando, Bo Katan, Boba, Asoka, Thrawn, Sabine, Rey, Rose, L334 and Holdo 😊
@@Weserator1379 Definitely not sometimes. Franky it shouldn't have been happening at all. As you said, there was a holoterminal, so why did we have to go back to base to discuss the next assignment instead of right there on the ship? It made Trooper really annoying to get through.
And he wastes time travelling all the way across the galaxy to ask in person, because he forgot FaceTime exists. Then again, they decided travel takes no time at all, so why not.
Yeah the AT-AT came back at the end!!! Also I've always loved your ending music. Really pumps me up. What is it? Original to the channel? Commissioned work? Your other talent? And as always always you read my mind with the content. I hate Disney so much. The 7th graders I use to teach could write better stories. Ugh.
Interesting fact: George Lucas originally wanted 11 movies including a larger role for Boba Fett. Once ROTJ (Episode VI) was about to be made he decide to end the saga there and end Boba Fett.
I don’t know about 11 movies, but I do know Lucas truncated the original number since Leia originally wasn’t Luke’s sister. She got merged with a character with a character that never got introduced.
@@blockmasterscott Lucas didn't recognise the mystique the bounty hunter had in viewers' minds. In his mind, Fett was 'only' another bad guy; and because he was the one who caught Han, he had to be shown 'getting his comeuppance' with a 'fitting' end. Having Fett, the so obviously cool and calculating villain, cock-up and fly ignominiously into the mouth of a famously nasty monster, wasn't only fitting, but comical (Lucas thought) - hence having the Sarlacc belch loudly immediately after swallowing Fett. Yet Lucs had the cahnce to rectify this when he made the special editions. I hoped that he would add, in the background as Jabba's barge explodes and Luke's skiff races away to safety, an Easter egg-like addition of Boba Fett rocketing back out of the pit, perhaps smoking and sizzling but clearly alive. There are many other things Lucas could have added to allow him to bring back Fett e.g. again in the background, in a very brief moment as the Sarlacc pit is just moving out of frame, there is an explosion to suggest to eagle-eyed viewers that Fett isn't going down without a fight and might yet crawl out victorious. Yet Lucas chose not to bother (probably because, as we know of his thinking at the time, he had no intention of making more Star Wars films). He could still do it though! By the way, what I really wanted to see from the special editions was the addition of accurate action through the rear windows of the x-wings during the trench run of the battle of the Death Star. As it stands, we see external shots of x-wings with TIE fighters right behind them cut with internal shots where the view through the rear window shows no TIE fighters. Vader's lightsabre is also still white when the blast doors get shot. Oh, and Han shot first!
I have yet to sit thru one full episode of Mando. I've tried but either fell asleep watching or just moved on... These content release however, are pure entertainment gold! Thank you Robot Head!
You know what really pisses me off about modern Disney Star Wars? They had an opportunity to fix things when the first 2 seasons of Mandalorian were received pretty well. I daresay I still enjoy those seasons a fair bit. And what did Disney do? FUCK UP A SECOND TIME WITH EVERYTHING THAT CAME AFTER MANDO SEASON 2. I don't even care if they produce anything good anymore. It's not worth it to me when 99.99% of everything they produce is dogshit with a measly 1% of decent shit actually worth watching. RIP Star Wars. Used to be my favorite movie franchise. Now it's embarrassing to even show I once cared for it.
When Disney bought Lucasfilm, the MCU was kicking sooooo many goals and I was excited; "A Star wars MCU" Imagine a sequel trilogy and supporting Films that built up to an Infinity War level climax and a Wealth of EU to cherry pick from to get it there..... and then we got this.... oh and they fucked up the MCU too.
I'm a Katee Sackhoff fan so I enjoyed her parts in this season. In fact I went and re-edited all the episodes from season 3 into 3, 1 hour long movies. I made it "The Bo Katan" show they should have made. I called it "The Tribes Of Mandalore". I just took the stuff I like and put it together in a way I could enjoy watching it.
Me: Watching this thinking Carl Weathers looks healthy. Next Day: RIP Carl Weathers- He was a part of the original "Expendables" - The expendable team of the original Predator!
Hey brother we are all wrong sometimes.. even I gave Disney more chances than they deserved. This is now the greatest demolition of all time and I will laugh hard as they lose a fortune. I hate them for this shit.
I tuned out after episode 7, finally got back and watched the mandalorian first two seasons, and Kenobi, just recently on OnStream because I ain't giving Disney 1 cent, including their parks (destroy my childhood hero will ya!) - and I'll admit, I enjoyed them. I started season 3 of Mandalorian blind and was like "wait... Uh, hold on. WTF IS THIS SHIT?!" You go, RobotH. You go!
Pilots conting near four minutes 🙃 Pure gold 🙂 I wish good february to @Robot Head ^^ [Forever D+ Subscriber who got sad because no Zeb in Ahsoka S01 after Mando S03 cameo] 😐
“We don’t have the resources Especially for pirates!” Wait. What?? Isn’t that a main bad guy you’d want to be stopping. A lot of illegal parking issues going on in the galaxy?? This makes Paw Patrol look like the Godfather
Never watched it and a live character talking to thin air where a missing CGI character should be, with no QA on the edit, kinda validates my reasons not to watch. Thanks for the hilarious vid. Great stuff. Your mind must be a mess.
"It's a fragment of Beskar.." "Are you telling me the Mandalorians took Gideon?" Well, since he turned their planet to glass and murdered everyone who was planetside. You're telling me you're ffffing surprised the Mandalorians took him from an unguarded transport?!?!!? I was skeptically excited to see all the Mando's touch down, hoped for some serious tactical genius moves. But, we didn't even get tactics of any kind. This show is dead, even if it doesn't turn into the Katie Sackoff Star Wars Show. Your reviews are really the best thing about these Star Wars wet farts. Thanks, Robot Head!
😂 Your videos are amazing! You make more than content, you expose hilarious TRUTH while wiping Disney's ass with their own faces 😂😂😂 From Arizona your videos are loved!!
That's a lousy government if they don't want to deal with pirates. That's an even lousier settlement if they live outside of the New Republic's jurisdiction and can't deal with a small band of pirates on their own.
Can you imagine 33 fighters on screen kicking ass? Oh wait, we had that in Rogue One and it was a sequence everyone loved. Why would Disney spend money to give us what we want? Silly me...
