I appreciate a practical and realistic opinion from a sportsman with experience. Not just a bunch of kids acting like idiots and advertising something that I don't care about.

If you are confident about where the walleyes are located it's deadly.

Great video. I have been using circle hooks with great success, no reason to set the hook as when the fish runs, they set themselves.

John, maybe I'll give that a try this summer. Thanks for adding in, KPO.

How'd, hey that xt mono makes great crawler harnesses. That's another story though. Keep it up I like your tips for the outdoors man

Mr. Raydio, yes it would be good for harnesses. Hey, if you're a crawler harness guy, did you check out my "walleyes and crawler harnesses - beyond the normal methods" video? You may enjoy that one too. Thanks a lot for the comment and thanks for watching. KPO

KPO. #4 circle hook with hand tied buck tail and slip sinker with Stren 4lb. flourocast inexpensive and best line out there ,with wacky rig leech or crawler hooked in the middle , check out salt strong videos everything stretches except braid, all they see is the bait wiggling. anchor 100’ away and sneak in. works good , you don’t set hook with circle hook so shorter rod works , I use waxed dental floss and tie nail knot always works and casts good best slipbobber setup I have found , thx good videos from you

On canadian shield stained waters, would you still stick to fluorocarbon leaders? I'm referring mainly to Store bought live bait mono rigs vs retying the live bait rigs with flouro.

Michael V., in stained water I don't think the benefits are as great, but more stealth is more stealth. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching, KPO.

How does that dogbone bobber stop work casting threw the guides? Does it ever get hung up or jammed into the guides of the rod? I always wanted to try those as I hate the string ones

I really don't have a problem with casting those. Maybe once in a while if you have them set pretty deep and you reel them up on your spool they might snag your line on the cast. But even that is VERY seldom. Thanks for watching, KPO.

I would have to respectfully disagree on the line. I am a huge fan of braid for jigging for the reasons of sensitivity. However, for slip bobber rig I use Mono. Mono floats and braid sinks. Sinking line (braid) "leans" the top of the bobber towards where the line is laying in the water. I want my bobber totally vertical. When I see it lean a direction I can see where a walleye is heading before I set the hook. Walleyes always pull their bait AWAY from the competition. That little technique tells me where his friends are. Also, a vertical bobber tells me when I may be ticking rocks or sand grass on the bottom or when the minnow is getting nervous. A totally vertical slip bobber is key and this is why I use mono over braid for slips. And it's cheaper. I too use a 5 foot fluoro carbon leader for the reasons you mentioned.

Clint, you're right about the mono floating. I mostly use Fireline or Spiderwire and sinking isn't really an issue for me. Maybe certain braids sink a lot faster than those? Just last night I was twitching an unweighted Fluke and I found myself watching the floating slack line on the surface for movement (the line was Fireline). Also, I find myself fishing pretty fast as far as bobber fishing goes. Only leaving the bobber for a minute or two and then recasting. The only time I get a lean in my bobber is if the bait comes in contact with the bottom or a fish takes it and I love the no-stretch. I like the observation about where other walleyes may be based on direction of bobber. Never thought about that before. Thanks so much for the comment. KPO
