Le Trou du Diable translates to "Hole of the Devil", but even more than that, it's an underwater cave in France, where the waves make it so that the water bubbles as if it was boiling. The level is probably a reference to the fact that erosion is slowly destroying the cave, and that another nearby cave's roof has already collapsed.
Since the creator is Canadian, I think it's rather a reference to the Trou du diable falls in Shawinigan Québec which inspired the name for a famous microbrewery here.
Le trou du Diable must be tranlate by "The pit of Devil". Lot of regions in France have places with this name and for fact it's rarely an underwater cave (some are in the middle of France with no water near by) or it was name "Fosse du Diable" ("fosse" mean "underwater cave"). It's just "The biggest Pit" of a palce, some time with water under near it and in some case with a "pont du diable" or "devil brige" on top of it. The name come from Middle Age. @@erwanmoreau6357 I was specifically talking about the Trou du Diable in Vendée, which seemed the most logical considering the whole "collapsing cavern" theme of the level which fits really well with this cavern's history.
@nick pfeiffer You wouldn't believe how many locations are called "devil's something". My favorite is the Pont du Diable, or Devil's Bridge. When it was built, around the ninth century (so yeah, superstition), what was built during the day was destroyed during the night. So of course it was the devil's work! The fun part is the legend says they made a pact with the devil, stating that if they could finish the bridge, they would offer the devil the soul of the first living being to cross the bridge. But after they finished, they made a cat cross (cat being already considered devilish at the time because... I don't even know, something related to feminity, or because their eyes glow in the dark), so essentially giving him nothing. The devil was so mad that he threw himself under the bridge and stayed there. So canonically in the Southern France mythology, the devil is trapped under a bridge where he got himself out of spite.
Someone needs to make the ultimate Anti-Ryu level, Ghost House, Underwater, Dark, Autoscroll, forced wing Boom Boom fight(s) and offscreen chain chomps with a tight timer, all without a hint of cheese. And a LOT of forced Yoshi death.
@@CycloneChilli If you are gonna do it, do it RIGHT! Gotta be mixed parachute/normal thwomps with no indicators of which it will be, so every encounter is a guess.
Hey ryu great video as always. I’ve got a 4 year old daughter that loves watching Mario videos and you are her favorite person to watch playing and everyday after she takes her bath we sit in front of our electric fireplace heater and watch your videos EVERYDAY. it’s my favorite thing to do everyday and I always look forward to it. Thank you for the great content
These stages had me stressed the entire time I watched, and I felt genuine frustration that there was a second level of stages in that world. This was an awesome watch.
This reminds me of a good romhack with the various themed levels and such. Especially the one where the goombas acted like they were underwater and the "thwomp escort" level
I love Buflen’s indicators, but specifically his LACK of indicators. He never tells you to spin jump because his level design makes it obvious for you. It’s so clean!
So watching this in my car with sound kinda high and a bunch of ppl walk by right when Ryu says "oh God, it's sooo tight... Oh yeah get in there! Oh oh gaaawwwd... YES!" And yea the looks are still coming...
These were some really cool levels, looks like a really fun world. As for the air ship and "Yoshi slaughter", I'll go ahead and argue that you aren't slaughtering the Yoshi's but freeing them from their unlawful imprisonment. There is no fall damage in SMW so every Yoshi you drop into the abyss will fall safely to the overworld below. You are not a murder, but instead a hero to Yoshi's everywhere!
Le Trou Du Diable means The hole Of The Devil in french. It’s actually a beautiful place at a coast in a region of France called Vandée. It is a hole in a huge rock in front of the sea.
Judge: Anything else you would like to share with the courtroom Mr Hernandez? 6ix9ine: Yeah Ryukahr AND Grand Poo Bear both kill multuple Yoshi's on their gameplays Your Honor! *** Another great gameplay *** :)
18:36- It's a really subtle touch, but I love how Bufflen makes you jump off a piranha before the mechakoopa. It's a really neat way to avoid any ambiguity about what you're supposed to do there. If it was a jump from a platform onto the mecha, you wouldn't know whether to use a normal jump or a spin jump. But, by making you use the piranha first--which you can only spin off of--he forces you into doing the right thing and doesn't need to add an explicit spin indicator.
7:36 He could’ve just gone back into the pipe Edit: I made this comment as a joke before the video premiered, but it turns out it sort of makes a tiny bit of sense. Could I see the future? Maybe...
@Romeo Olivo Congratulations, it wasn't a joke in that sense... it was a prediction of what was going to happen at a certain timestamp in the video, since it was premiering... which you could have guessed if you looked at the other timestamp comments...
Trou du Diable and Boreale and both beer companies in Quebec. The level creater, Buflen is from Canada, so it could be reference to that. Literaly translated, trou du diable is simply: the devil's hole.
Le trou du Diable must be tranlate by "Devil's Pit". Lot of regions in France have places with this name and for fact it's rarely an underwater cave (some are in the middle of France with no water near by) or it was name "Fosse du Diable" ("fosse" mean "underwater cave"). One thing people don’t notice is that there is no three 1-ups cap in the worlds so if the end of the stage like 5:44 he got like 8 back, maybe creates should watch out for that.
Bro, these levels were so good; like actual fun seeming Kaiso levels, kinda hard to achieve that balance. Gonna have to hit it with a hot boo though for that attempt at a merciless Bowser murder at the end though (i’m joking of course, but he didn’t even have a fighting chance, like what the heck? at least let the poor guy walk around; he wasn’t even big :c)
I'm pretty sure the Ninji numbers hovering over the stages in the world map are where people have progressed to and put their save balloon. NOT that they are currently playing the level. Not sure if people realize that.
For how easy it is to make awful dark levels, 2-2 at 13:13 I'd say was a good one. All of the important information had some sort of light source on or near it so there are no unfair deaths, which I'd say is necessary to call any dark level good (unless it's a troll level or something, but those of course have very different metrics). Because of the darkness though you're looking a little longer at the next part to be sure you're not missing anything. An excellent dark level though I feel would have to make use of light as a tool, something like taking advantage of the different light radius depending on the ON/OFF state, or having Mario bring a light source with him to use in some way.
4K2-6XK-NVG A Stroll Through some Lava, a speed run. It was hard to upload. Its 30 seconds and its a tight timer. If anyone sees this, you should try it. No one cleared it yet. #RYUSMM
@@LiamPack2189 Hot damn, this was a very satisfying comment to read. I can't imagine how fulfilling it must have been to roast him so hard like that. Got'eem!
Merennulli But 2 hours? It’s so over the top Lol if you’re going to make a joke about the length of the video, put like 30 minutes at most lol 2 HOURS? Good joke 😂
@@PtylerBeats Reasonable numbers could be mistaken for either real or some sort of cross-video post error. Ludicrous numbers make it obvious the intent was a joke.
@@PtylerBeats Pretending that the video was over 2 hours long was part of the joke, because I said he died at 2:30:00 hours but didn't get a checkpoint so he had to go all the way back to 1:13:00, which is just ridiculous.
You make this look a lot easier than it is. Played mario games from wii to wii u and my sister got a switch and i tried mariomaker. And im ridiculously bad at it haha
