I have the original version of this screen and a few things that you shouldn’t believe is that there’s gonna be any updates to fix or add any features. Also be aware these screens have pretty bad Bluetooth and wifi chips so bt audio is pretty crap and if you want to use wifi for google maps it freezes and cuts out a lot. Other than that I do like the screen. The CarPlay feature is killer when it works my unit crapped out pretty quick, no reply from Chris yet either
I'm reeeaaaaallllly excited to play with the car play. This unit has not crashed once yet, but I do remember my old one crashing if I tried running more then 2 apps. The Bluetooth phone has improved, but honestly it's best to link the phone with the cars phone (sounds better). I'm surprised Chris didn't respond... I'll tell him to check out this comment.

CKM or how to pay twice the price... just bought an unit for 340€ on Aliexpress sent from Europe and therefore 340€ tax included! Work like a charm and the seller was top for support, answered fast and obviously known the unit like his pocket.
Thanks for the update Ray. I brought and installed this unit last week from CKM. Everything works great except I get a buzzing sound (I believe this is from plugging the unit to the Aux). I have a W204 (2009) standard OEM audio unit. Love the content, keep up the great work.

Thanks for the response! After some thought I realised that the GPS antenna on the NTG is not routed to the screen as the screen has its own GPS receiver.

CKMCardesign Chris didn’t you read my comment when I stated that the product is worth the hassle. To be honest man I’m just trying to improve the consumer experience . You’ve got some amazing products but the instructions are very vague. The android screen in particular can do a lot more that what I imagined. Maybe you do a little research on some of your products and put up a downloadable PDF in a link. In doing so you have the potential to reach out to a wider market. This screen even have dynamic parking. The CarPlay dongle is also really nice after a fellow consumer reached out to me and gave me the instructions on how to get it working. Not bitter Chris
CKMCardesign hey Lund have you encountered this. The front left speaker won’t work when the radio is playing from the factory unit, but it works when it’s playing from the aftermarket unit. Those guys at the shop are going to email with with some questions. They’ll explain to you what they did and maybe you guys trouble shoot

I bought the first model and was not really impressed. 1. Bluetooth phone calls sound like crap because the audio of the calls would come from 1 speaker. I had to disconnect. 2. Wifi would connect but nothing actually worked? 3. USB never recognized anything connected to it, and yes everything was double checked on connections. 4. Stereo never actually sat flush again in the original location, because of the bulky wires. 5. For some weird reason, my seat warmers are not working? I have to review the fuses. The only thing I use on this is kmh/speedo tacometer screen look. And now basically an updated version and you want another $800? The whole point of the USB was to update the original one when there's an update!
This is so frustrating to watch. I bought the first version of this and understood that there were limitations. But there was an understanding that there would be some updates for the product as it was Android based and it was update-able. There have been none thus far. The EasyConnect app never worked. The Bluetooth was awful and I had to frequently delete and pair my device. Apps like Waze started crashing after a while because the OS didn't get updated but the dependencies changed. I find it difficult to spend another 800 dollars on a new unit. Worse off selling the used unit to any would would just be wrong as the device is obscenely frustrating to use. You would hope that the manufacturer would at least provide a steep discount for those of us that funded the continued existence.
Oh I completely understand! I tried to negotiate for a group code and was informed that the unit cost is too much. Further more when I asked for an update I was told the new software requires more RAM and the old display doesn't have it....it wasn't exactly a happy go lucky conversation for me consider I still had to pay for my own unit
It has cool features, but I wish the screen was still hiding when you turn off the engine. This looks like it's screaming "break into this car and steal me", in my country 🤣.
Wow this is my first time watching your videos. Since it took you three seconds to boat the screen down. I hoped it wouldn't take a professional Thief more than 3 seconds to take it out of the car. But I would like to know do the screen tie into the security system on the car and give you a warning? Even though the person has probably already gone.

Hi Raymond, thanks for the great installation. However I have an issue, my device seems to always restart after I unplug the car key, so the android watch setting always go back to preset. It seems like the device doesn't have a standby power. Any help to fix this? Your input will be highly appreciated.

Same here. Would love to order this but then if the sound input is through the Aux , then not worth spending so much if the sound quality is not good. Have you have managed the sound quality now ?
Bought the old screen some months ago. Never got an update as was initially told, the screen is now according to Chris too old/weak to get an update. Low internal storage which doesn’t allow installation of more than 2 apps and updates via Google Play. And now 800 usd for the new one ? Pass..

Q: 1. If you listen to the car-radio and use the navigation. Will the turn-by-turn direction come out in the speakers ("overriding the Radio". Because today if I use my phone and Google Maps, and the phone is connected to the car.. it won´t mute radio for instructions. I need to listen to music from bluetooth to have the GPS instructions comming through!! 2. If you are using Android Auto.. do you need to connect it via USB or does it work wireless? 1) navigation will sound over everything else. I used the GPS and Amazon Movies and it was giving directions over the movie 2)The Android car play with this unit requires a dongle which I will show in another video. This dongle requires a phone to be hard wired in.
Yes, it does override the audio/video when you are playing content from the Andriod unit. But if you are listening the mercedes radio/CD, the GPS won't not override the audio, I believe the NAV will come through the external speaker that you install. The speaker is one of the extra things you get from ordering this newer unit.

It would have been nice to get a wiring diagram instead of a video that is model specific. I have no idea if my existing GPS antenna will be reused and if the new one has to be fitted etc.
Hello Raymond, first of all i would like to thank you for your very informative and useful uploads. Would be very nice if you could help me to solve some issues with my android. So, NTG screen at the beginning, when i connected it- worked, but after around an hour it went black and stays like that till now. I tried A.B.AB cabel wires but no help. Also in settings i tried the options from 1 to 10, but still nothing changed. Another issue is when I start the car engine, the screen doesn't turn on, I have to turn the car's radio OFF then turn it ON, only then the screen works. Thank you in advance. Regards, Moses Aro
Where in Florida? I had one of these installed everything works it’s a newer model android screen radio comes on but no sound no sound on videos. They couldn’t seem to figure out what the problem was. I am currently in sunrise Florida area by Fort Lauderdale.
raymond you are the BEST i have 3 questions 1/ my orignal radio screen is not showing up although i did what u said i switched the ab and b and i tried the jumber but still nothong from 1 to 13 nothing:( 2/ i couldn’t find a yellow cable to connect the red cable from the sliver box to it so i think mine was a different color 3/ when i click the orignal car AUX activation it says FAILED...!.:( my car model is c class w204 2008 basic with no navigation
Raymond, are we safe to assume all the models sold on CKM site is now the new model? Also, what's the technical differences between the old model and the new model? For example, different Android version/RAM/quality of screen? I don't think there is an update after this. Old one had Android 4 this has Android 7.1.1 Old one had 1gb of RAM this one has 2gb of RAM. Old one had 10gb of memory with no expansion this one has 32gb with expandable Micro SD
Hey Raymond... awesome videos! I just installed the latest LCD screen in my 2015 C300 4matic this past weekend. Everything is working, the navigation, downloading apps via wifi, the 3rd party backup camera I purchased,, everything from the original car's "OS" (scroll wheel, mouse, etc), HOWEVER, there is no sound from any of the video apps or music apps from within the screen itself. It plays the video (test video that came with the device and you can see it playing the music that came with it) but NO sound. Am I missing a setting or does something else need to be installed to get this feature? Thanks!

Only 2 people be I Know carry the new one Chris and Carlife. I am unaware of another seller as of yet. From the store you can Navigate to your car and it will be there. This unit has the Android 7.1.1 and 2GB of RAM with expandable Micro SD card
Hello! Got screen it’s been great quick question problem came up wanted to ask maybe you had same one? Bluetooth now fails to connect to the “zlink” car play and doesn’t connect plays music then cuts off after some seconds, I’ve checked for updates, I’ve restarted phone, nothing, still won’t connect.
Do not buy his screen from Chris. The screen is great but the directors are very vague. The installers contacted him for input with regards to unlocking the full capability of the screen but his knowledge of the screen is limited. First of all the screen doesn’t come from Chris. It comes from Hong Kong. I also bough a CarPlay dongle and it doesn’t work. I’m so fed up that I didn’t even bother to contact Chris about the dongle. If you have a 2014 luxury C250 the screen doesn’t fit perfect and you’ll get problems to connect the screen to audio. The screen is great but see if you can purchase it from someone that can help you when you run into problems. Raymond is very helpful. I think there is a shop named 4x4 from Canada that sells the unit.
Yen Chen Chris should post on his website what to do if auto play don’t work. Why sell a product if you’re not providing the necessary information for it to work. It’s that simple. Include a pdf link next to each product with instructions, that way we don’t have to bother him. Before I bought the dongle I asked him about it and he told me it was plug and play out of the box, and that was about three weeks ago. All in all I’ll go through the disappointment because the screen is awesome. I has dynamic parking and he told me it didn’t. CAN YOU POST THE LINK TO DOWNLOAD THE FILE?
I have a 2009 C300 and can only connect my Bluetooth for phone calls but not music. If I update to a screen like this will Bluetooth connect for music audio as well?

I have a few ferrite rings installed on the Aux cable, but whenever I use bluetooth audio or any other form of audio coming through the HU to my car's stereo it sounds really muddy and crackly in the higher range like it's a very bad signal. When I play from a CD it sounds pristine so I know it's not my speakers. Any suggestions, anyone?
If you have the first version of this screen, is it easier to install the new screen? I assume the adapter would be the same? I love the size of the screen but there have been a lot of hiccups along the way and I still don’t know how to get software updates (I bought it before I knew about CKM and wasn’t able to get any help from them about this since it wasn’t purchased there.) If I decide to upgrade to the new version, is there a 360 camera addition that you know of? I only have the rearview camera now, but would like the 360 if one is compatible. Like most others, I added the CarPlay dongle and it’s never had consistent operation and takes multiple attempts nearly every-time to get it to work and then when I get out of the car, I have to do it all over again. I rarely use it because I have come to expect failure. Too bad it’s not built into the new version! Last question, if I spend another $$$ less than one year after installing the first version, is if going to be obsolete in a matter of months? (Like iPhones have become.). It won't be any different than the first one and ckm doesn't have any update to offer either... they just buy it in China and resell it twice the price. No update or other thing specific to ckm
Ok I bought this unit for my 2012 E350 and it worked great for about 7 months. Then one day the screen flicked a lot and eventually stopped with the screen rotated by 180 degrees. Now every time I start my car my screen is rotated 180 degrees (upside down and flipped). I did unplug everything from the monitor and plugged in everything except the 4G antenna but nothing worked. Anyone have this issue? If so how did you fix it?
If I select the Aftermarket backup camera option, it doesn’t show the display. But it shows the display when Original backup camera. Is it possible to make the Aftermarket backup camera option work with the Original backup camera?
CKM design didn't want to help me at all, not sure if it is good customer service and recommended. I needed a wiring loom but just get no response, hope you had better experience than I did
He doesn't sell individual parts. Unless you bought the unit from him he can't get you any warranty parts. Same as the manufacturer Carlife, they won't sell you anything unless you bought it from them. This why I tell everyone to stay away from eBay and other sites.
On a forum, someone told me he sold them a wiring loom, now i have a screen that won't even turn on because its incorrect with my car, do you have any suggestions raymond of where I could source one for a W176? as returning it is out of the question, ive literally just got a $600 that is a brick for a screen now :(
Yea he definitely dosent sell individual parts from the kit. You can TRY dealing with carlife-mall.net I have a feeling that you will encounter the same resistance... But you can try. Why don't you contact who you bought it from?

managed to get a wiring loom elsewhere and it works and powers my screen! but the OEM now isn't functional, just a blank screen. messed around with the 1-10 screen parameters option and set it to 4 but doesnt seem to be displaying still, do you have any info on this?
I need help with my 2010 c300 display screen. It started to flicker and shut off out of nowhere I checked the fuses but it didn’t do anything. I heard there is a fuse behind the display but you have to take it out fro the dashboard is it true?
I’m using the car Pro Bluetooth for the audio on my new android 10.25 display version number 9. Do I need to hook up the factory iPod connector in the glove box to the auxiliary cable from the display? And if so how do I get that adapter? Chris from CKM sent one but it doesn’t match up.

I already have bovee Bluetooth but it doesn’t always work well with the steering wheel button using Spotify or any other app beside Apple Music app
I just bought a C300 with this in the car, it worked with bluetooth on the way home listening to music, for some reason after I got home the music doesnt work but I can still receive calls and talk over the system. The audio for music has no sound. It controls my phone with onscreen controls pause and play but there is no sound. There was the first time I used it though. Any thoughts? It worked for music no it doesnt but still works for phone calls.... idk... thanks.
Did you try to pair a 2nd phone? It can only handle 1 bluetooth connection. Also make sure your MB audio input is set as bluetooth. You can also try AUX
I suddenly lost audio after months of use. First, when muted sound would come out of one speaker, and would remain at it's volume when unmuted and volume raised. Lived like that for a while, now no sound anywhere. After weeks of playing with all the settings I just want to somehow restore to original settings and start over somehow. Any advice?
Great video Ray. I have this model as well, and use the CarPlay accessory for my iphone. A major problem I have is the deteriorated sound quality when playing Podcasts and (some tracks) from the Music app when using Carplay. Any fixes or insights would be appreciated. Keep up the good vids! Also no wheel control access on the main menu?
Ill show you some tricks to keeping the audio quality better. You are correct the wheel dosent work, the wheel only functions for the old screen. but its fine its touch screen and its so damn big my finger lands on the big icons
Although this is "Just a screen", the routing of camera signals/wiring into the NTG is not automatically to be assumed to be routed to the screen as they are connected to the NTG. My E400 2014 W212 has 4 factory fitted cameras. I have tested a device from China which blocked the ability to switch via the COMAND knob to the side views. I have no clear answer if the 10.25" screen also has this shortcoming. Anyone who can send me the side camera views screenshot on this screen?
