▬ A NOTE ON USING LED LIGHTS AS HALOGEN BULB REPLACEMENTS ▬
Aim your headlights AT LEAST once a year and ALWAYS after replacing the bulbs.
If the cutoff is bad or you can’t aim them accurately or the light output scatters, it is NOT safe to use. Try a different style of LED or one with a lower output that will be more compatible with your light housing. See my other videos for more reviews.
When I use the word “headlights”, I am referring to legal off-road use or fog light use only as replacing factory halogen bulbs with LEDs for headlights in the US is not currently legal for on-road use nor a DOT approved practice. I like the 3 heat pipes , a simple design improvement that also fit in the H4 form factor , but the main unit runs too hot. I wonder why so many producers don't use a traditional heat sink design for the driver housings, imagine you stuck in traffic at a summer night and the engine heat reaches the unit .... Great work as always ! Thanks !

@CarLightReviews I just got these a couple weeks ago because of your videos and took advantage of the discount you had setup. Thanks for that too. I think these are the brightest bulbs I've ever had. See how they hold up over time. Would love to see a comparison video comparing these to an HID as people claim LEDs are no good especially projectors. It would be great to have a video settling the debate.

Got a pair for a 1996 f150 and these are AMAZING!!!!! I tested them this evening and I gotta say these are brighter than a every Factory LED/HID cars/trucks that I was driving next to. I'm in the process of restoring it. Me and my buddy were just laughing at the reactions it was getting. I guess seeing an Oldie but goodie with better lightning than a 80K vehicle was cool. Note my headlight housings are new aswell so pretty much as good as it gets in regards to what they are capable of with light output. I'm going to pick up another set for low beams on a 2008 GMC Acadia and see if they will outperform the current HID kit installed. Note if anyone knows of an H7 led kit that fits the Acadia narrow h7 bulb housing opening hit me up.

Got these because of your videos and the website chart. Hoping they work out. Never had high beams this bright before. Had to lubricate the o-ring on one to get the locking ring into the housing. I guessed that the blue wire was the positive wire on the headlight wire. I should probably verify that ug. Says 2024 model on Amazon.

2011 Ram 1500. OEM headlight housing broke so I chose a set of Amerilite projector headlight replacements. They came equipped with halogen low beam and some LED variant for hi. Pulled them both out. Put in some Fahren H7 bulbs for low and these Luxter H9s for hi. Holy cow. The Fahrens were nice. Decent down road visibility and complements my LED fogs well. Hi beams with the Luxter is insane. I've aimed them but they still have to be illegal. I am concerned about the heat even for seldom used high beams. All that heat inside a sealed headlight housing may melt some stuff. Going to watch that very closely. No flicker btw.

Glad they worked out for you. Replacing halogen bulbs with LEDs and headlights is not legal for on road use in the United States. As far as heat...Check out this video: ru-vid.comH8VP762ApdA See how hot a halogen light gets? Yikes! MUCH hotter than the main unit and the driver of any LED replacement...put together. Ask yourself this, where does that heat go when you use a halogen bulb?

Hey I love your videos! I just ordered a set of Hikari future titanova LED's in the 9007 flavor. It was a choice between the titanovas and these Luxter punishers. I ended up ordering the titanova's in the end! 2001 jetta tdi reflector housing. I'm curious have you ever tested dual "filament" LED's like 9007/HB5 and the others? I've always been curious if the output/beam pattern/thermals/overall performance suffers at all from having 2 sets of LED's on board. Nobody ever seems to test or advertise the dual filament leds that some people need and I've always been curious if I'm getting the same performance using my 9007 LEDs compared to the same bulb in say an h11 LED configuration with 1 set of LED's.
@chrisddr3
@chrisddr3 11 месяцев назад
Conclusion: *Hikari Titanova for low beams* -lower running temperatures -energy consumption similar to halogens (57W) -maintains great brightness after a while *Luxster Punisher for high beams* -tremendous initial brightness gives the people in front an x ray scan when you flash them -higher energy consumption and running temperatures but you don’t drive all night with your brights on -brightness becomes close to Titanova after a short period, making them less ideal for low beams

From what ive seen wouldn't dv f9s be best for low beams or n60? And something like the same for high lol. Idk about most people but I want what's bright and I use projectors so my cutoff line will be below eye level. Maybe that's just me because I also have light smoke tint wraps on my lights and need the extra juice. That and my car only uses 9005 for low and high beam. If companies want to send you stuff, I think that would be great for the channel, regardless of compensation or not. as long as you're honest, if they're bad then we know what not to buy! Keep it up 👍
@CarLightReviews
@CarLightReviews 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for much for the support. The tightrope is that if companies send products for review, people think it is a positive review only for that reason, and not because it is actually a good product, and an honest review of it. The other side of the coin is that companies sometimes automatically expect a positive review when they provide the product, even though their products are terrible. I cannot count how many times companies have reached out to me saying "Can we send you our product and some money in exchange for a positive review video?". There's too many other RU-vid producers that will gladly take the product and the money and lie right to everyone's faces. Me? Nope. Not a chance. Not now, not ever.

@@gmcminitruck if you look at a cutoff plate you’ll notice the bulb design has to be incredibly off by more than 1/4” for that to occur. Thanks for a great review, just found your channel. The heat concerns me a lot, but unfortunately none of the other LEDs you've reviewed/spoken highly of come in a 9012 format, which I need for a Scion TC2.5's low/hi beam combo light. FYI, saying that the heat in the bulb/driver is less than a halogen isn't really a fair comparison aside from the argument that it shouldn't melt the housing. Halogens have no electronics in them. Heat kills electronics, and there are a lot of electronic components that can fail in the LED/driver. The fact it's a new company renders the warranty nearly meaningless. Instead of pushing for crazy lumen stats, I wish companies would start pushing for lower temps/better reliability. The lights are already bright enough. That said, given the price being ~half of the other ones you've spoken highly of, at least if they failed after a year, you could still buy another set and still not have spent as much as a more expensive pair. I'll probably end up buying these. Finally, (and sadly) I can confirm the 20% coupon code/promo has ended.
@CarLightReviews
@CarLightReviews 7 месяцев назад
...and thanks for the GREAT comment! I mention heat for two reasons: One, people think that LEDs need "fresh air" and run hotter than halogen. Two, to assist in measuring light output reduction over time and longevity. It isn't exactly a "new" company but a spinoff of a well known company, but you make a great point...new or old company, they can fold at anytime. I do agree (and I think I've mentioned it in a few previous videos) that if I were to look into my crystal ball, I would see smart LED headlight companies focusing more on heat reduction and longevity instead of higher light output. The cheap companies focus on brightness, but the good companies focus on quality and light pattern. Sometimes, too much is too much. You throw enough light output in any reflector or projector headlight, and it can't handle it and it scatters it. On-road car lighting should not be a manhood measuring competition. Thank you very much for the heads up on the promotion, I will reach out to Luxster and see if they have a new promotion for their products.

For some odd reason Hikari Titanova wouldn’t fit in my new 23 Hyundai Elantra. Doesn’t clip on to the socket and it feel loose. I tried other led brands and it fit. As a Hikari user for so many years with different cars, I’m disappointed by this. I just ordered the Luxster and I hope the heating wouldn’t be much of an issue since Hyundai use dust cap over the headlight housing.

@@mahmoudattia4725 Hi there, I returned the Hikari because it wouldn't latch onto the 9005 clip. Same problem with Luxster (Luxster is made by Hikari) 9005. I suspect it's just the brand because I tried other brands and they all snapped perfectly. So what I did for Luxster is using tape to hold the sockets together. So for projection, I noticed it's not the bulb's fault because I tried three different brands (Luxster is the brightest) and they all threw uneven beam patterns. I tried rotating the bulb but it was still the same. I had my Honda Sienna with Hikari bulb that that projector housing threw a smooth even beam-like OEM LED. As for heat, I don't notice much since it has been working great for over a week now. I drove over 2 hours at night once and never had a problem with it. And yes I'm using 9005 Luxster as low beam.

I've just purchased these from the Amazon US store & can confirm I was still able to get 20% off in January 2024. This will go in my H1 high beam with the Novsight N60 as H7 low beam. Ideally I'd have put the N60 in both but they don't make an N60 in the H1 size nor an F9 for that matter so as 3rd brightest & with one of the major negatives of this light, heat being negated somewhat by being useful as a high beam that you don't regularly leave on for extended uninterrupted periods, it seemed like a decent compromise. Hope it all goes well. Thanks for all the info on all these lights, knowing they make false claims of lumens & wattage etc I felt lost as to what was best but I certainly feel informed now!
@TRAXXAS58
@TRAXXAS58 5 месяцев назад
So small update, I've finally been able to fit these. Both dip & main beam seem very bright! Not particularly impressed with how the Luxster attaches to the car though, I've got an H1 version & it doesn't properly "click" into place at all inside of that ring you attach inside the housing, it just pushes in with rubber seals to hold it which means not only you need to align it perfectly yourself but also just seems kind of loose in the slot & the position of the wire changed how it sat in the housing because it pulled it & the rubber bent/compressed & let it move around so not ideal there at all. The Novsight I had in there before slotted & twisted into position & held tightly for 4 or 5 years, I'm not convinced these will, they feel like they could vibrate themselves loose or twist or something during normal driving over time, but we'll see, hopefully not!

Wow. That’s one powerful led h11 bulb. Very nice to have for the price. But that would honestly and easily reconsider because that produce pretty hot for the main unit. And I never seen an external driver, that’s 180 degrees. That is very very hot. And we get none of these led lights are not truly hot as halogen with 750 degrees. But on led bulb world, that it quite warm. I still prefer lasfit and auxito. LD plus switchback, LA plus, and LS plus. Auxito - M3, Y13, and Y19. Those are the coolest ones that’s not very hot at all. I prefer those that holds the heat very efficient, for the longevity. Even with internal driver. I honestly would prefer use that for high beams and external driver for low beams. Those are my very best top two led lights. And also sylvania zevo led bulbs. Not the h11 because that’s a 50/50 of people like it and hate it because hood/bad experience. And they said for sylvania zevo h11, it’s half times brighter than stock. Not 2 times which that’s not horrible? But it’s barely brighter. So I’m short, Auxito, lasfit, and sylvania zevo (except h11 zevo) led bulbs are my 3 top choice.

In other words is the 10 watt difference a danger if i will only use it for a few minutes once at a time?
@CarLightReviews
@CarLightReviews 7 месяцев назад
Typically, there are no major issues when using LED headlghts to replace halogen. Most factory wires feeding headlights are 16 gauge. A 16 gauge wire is capable of up to 13amps. Amps = watts+volts. So, even if your battery is almost dead (8-10 volts) you won't be pulling more than 8ish amps. I would personally still double check that your headlight fuses are rated for that amperage. If you only have one fuse for both headlights, make sure it's at least a 15 and that the wires connected to the headlights, correspond correctly in size for that amperage. Your only real concern, is the bulb itself shorting out. Which would likely be due to an overheating condition or, a very wet condition, leading to the internal components frying, thus causing a short. Just don't wire both of these lights to a single side. Keep them separate on driver/passenger like the OEM intended. As always, YMMV. Proceed carefully and with caution. Your vehicle and experience may not be typical. In cases like this, I always suggest that you consult with your favorite forum or social media group dedicated to your specific vehicle.
