I always had weight issues, largely because I was drawn to food in an unhealthy way. As a child, i would eat on the sly or distract my parents in order to sneak food. At age 10, I weighed over 200 pounds and was put on my first diet. I tried many different diets and my weight swung dramatically up and down. In 2017, my parents became the legal guardians of two infant twin girls. I had given up on losing weight by then and accepted that I would probably die soon. But my father reached out to me and said “I need you to live. ” That became my wake-up call. Keto was the big diet trend around that time. So I bought two books about keto. And started reading. This was the turning point for me. Almost immediately some fantastic changes occurred. I started losing weight rapidly and my symptoms of uncontrolled blood sugar disappeared. I’m happy I made this choice.
I appreciate the way you describe how we should discern the Natural Flavors. I don't feel like a company that uses clean, organic ingredients is going to use crappy natural flavors just cuz they could get away with it on the label.
You should create an app where you have a list of supplements where they are approved. Or where you can scan barcodes to see if they’re approved. Please do another supplement haul at WHOLE FOODS
Thank you for taking the time and making this video. Been waiting for your input on what you think is good at Costco. I'll be going to soon and this list is really helpful on getting what is helpful and not waste money on things that are not necessary. Thank you.
I work at Costco and this is a question many ask. Thank you for your videos. I love all the info as to what to take and why and why it works or doesn’t. Can’t wait to actually share the I fo with those tht ask. Thank you
Since the title started with vitamins, I kind of hoped he would delve into Multi-vitamins and the best one to buy at Costco. Still a good informative video.
Great vid Thomas! Costco has some good stuff and some things to avoid when it comes to vitamins. Appreciate your work and hoping 2022 will bring us some more collaborations with you & Bobby @ Flav City! ☦️
Great video, ACV capsules come with the Mother, I prefer those when away from home. Also for MCT I stick to Organic 100% C8, also Organic Virgin Cod Liver Oil is my favorite. Don’t settle for Costco, great store but not for this type of supplements.
@@PunaniJohnny Personally after trying many fish oil supplements I felt immediate effects from the cod liver oil especially the vitamin D that’s already in it so killing two birds with one stone you just can’t beat it but that’s an anecdotal statement. I would recommend it for sure
@@PunaniJohnny Just look at the EPA and DHA content on cod liver oil. It is much higher than fish pills and usually a tsp serving. Honestly, the taste isn't too fishy nor is it very thick. I got one with a lemon flavor. I always drink some tea right after to make sure I don't have fishy taste on my tongue. Ironically, the cod liver oil has never given me fish burps.
On the COQ10, I prefer Ubiquinol with PQQ. Ubiquinone is fine but you need to make sure you take Vitamin E with it for good absorption. I found it kind of concerning that many of the brand names were sort of a play on the term "Ubiquinol" but were actually ubiquinone. I didnt see enough of the labeling to determine if they contained Vitamin E or advised you to take it with Vitamin E.
You made a very good point May I ask which brand of COQ10 are you taking, the vitamin E we take should be natural not synthetic. Appreciate your help 🙏
Love love your videos. I've been binge watching them. Cant concrntrate on anything else. Excited to get everything gathered and get started on this. I have a question about the calm magnesium product though. Isn't that the Citrate form that gives you the runs? I thought the calming form was magnesium glycinate. Why would the company call it Calm if its not the calming form?
Thomas (or do you go by Tom/Thom?), will you do an Amazon version of this video. I know Amazon has 50 thousand things for the same thing, but it would be helpful to see what you would buy and what you would not buy for the same thing in the sense vitamins and supplements. I am learning so much from your Costco videos, but a lot of the items you have said, "I wouldn't buy that here."
Costco is so inconsistent for supplements, they selection changes monthly it seems. Especially in Canada, it's amazing how Costco's offerings change just by crossing the 49th parallel. For example at my local Costco the only magnesium available is citrate.
Hi Thomas, I’m 57 and I still am not sure what vitamins to take for a women my age . Can you please give me a list of what in need . Thank you! Oh and you rock!
For the Qunol products, in your previous video "Costco’s Vitamins & Supplements- Crucial Breakdown," you preferred the capsules over the liquid version. But this time, you prefer the liquid over the capsules. For vitamin B12, in your video "Costco’s Vitamins & Supplements- Crucial Breakdown | Part 2," you chose the Kirkland B12 Quick Dissolve capsules, but this time you're choosing Kirkland B-Complex. Was there a reason why you changed your mind? Still excellent content.
Stomach sensitivity is one thing that I consider as well as gastrointestinal sensitivity (gas) when I consider buying and taking supplements yet there is Some real nice take away advice on a few supplements and powders as well as going over the ingredients other topics like zinc Which I have a stomach sensitivity to and any b complex with 50mg of most of the b's leaves my very gassy.. I take a smaller lesser known one by Sundown which has plenty of folate, b1, b2 and b12 and a seperate 1000mcg biotin from Now Brand a 25mg zinc from Solgar and sometimes a Zinc Supplement that I cut in half or quarters chew with other food or insert in an empty gel cap and swallow.. that one is from Megafood and I make sure I take that with a cheap form of magnesium oxide to prevent any type of stomach upset.
the only vitamin/mineral/supplement i buy at costco is Ubiquinol because its the lowest price i can find i wish they would carry stuff like liposomal quali-c , previe shilajit, ksm66 ashwangdha etc
Melatonin regulates mitochondrial homeostasis, something to keep in mind if you have damaged mitochondria. Those that like to research can find more about it with the search terms: melatonin mitochondria and cellular bioenergetics.
I had read that stevia can inhibit the absorption of B12. I have issues with that. And for a while there I was using a lot of stevia. And whenever I stopped. My B level is rose.
Thomas, I'm new to your channel (good work, I like it). Have you done a video on yogurt? It's been my breakfast of choice for years but trying to go more low carb now. thx
I don't know if it's appealing but you can make coconut milk yogurt. It is definitely not as thick as other yogurt. You just put a can of coconut milk in a glass jar, put 2 probiotic capsules, stir with a plastic spoon, cover with a cloth, leave on counter for 2 days, and put in fridge. It tastes amazing with cacao powder =)
Hi Thomas, can you help me I’m 62 ,5’3 weight is about 170 can’t seem to lose my fattttt. I’m getting so confused on programs , and diet plans .I’ve listen to you and watch your videos, I feel your the best. .I need to drop weight , I feel so fat .my husband feel I can’t do it .I want to drop down to 130 lbs
Good morning Thomas, and I just found your RU-vid channel today for the very first time. The best vitamins to get at Costco was the first video I watched. You are extremely informative and I appreciate your honesty. If I could ask you a favor I would like to share all of my vitamins with you to ask for your opinions on each one. Thank you so much for reading my comment. Bill
I like Thorne, the are a great Supplement company. I am all about getting the ACTUAL mg's I paid for (label accuracy) and love the testing in place (Purity).
Contradicting! I thought you said in prior video, if you had to pick.. The Wild Alaskan Caught Salmon Fish Oil is the one to do. That’s what we got in past and been using it. Just bought another lol, (before I watched this video of you now saying you don’t recommend any ..)😅
@Joel Alone He did still quickly approve that one in this video, but he did it hesitantly now, lol. Idk 🤷🏽♂️ I still say it’s the best one to get at Cotsco since he claimed that before. Will finish off the next bottle and change to Cod Oil. He’s hyper critical, but again, for record he said that Wild Caught Alaskan one is solid choice. Smaller the fish, the better.
For the Pure Alaska Omega, have you tried looking at the one that has the yellow looking pills instead of the orange looking ones? It seems to have a better ratio and amount of dhea.
Thank you for what you do Thomas. I enjoy your videos - I just checked out the good lovin bar & would love that option, but concerned about pea protein when I'm on a clean keto w.o.e. That's not really good for keto is it?

Is there a COQ10 that doesn't have all the bad stuff in it? Even the one he said is decent has potassium sorbate and natural flavors(whatever that means) listed as the second ingredient.
Thanks for your great overview. I don't like any of their multivitamins. Their regular vitamins have poor ingredients. Their organic vitamins have too many potentially inflammatory things added to them. I use Raw Code One. I do use their D and Ubiquinol salmon oil and MCT oil and prostate plus although I'm concerned about the selenium in it and their collagen protein - the chocolate is great in shakes. That's about it. They only sell low grade/low absorbtion magnesium and zinc. Thomas has talked about the most absorbable forms. Only magnesium malate and glycenate have helped me. I use zinc picolinate. Unfortunately I've found the pea protein and other questionable stuff in Orgaine products gives me indigestion. Costco should do better in its supplement department.
What kind of collagen n which brand are you recommending?! And for teenagers who don't eat very well which multi vitamin you're suggesting? Appreciate it 🙏
@@moniryousefian8782 I use the brand of collagen at Costco he discusses called Vital Proteins in unflavored and chocolate. After having done a lot of research on multivitamins, I chose Garden of Life Vitamin Code Raw One for men. They also have one for women and chewables for kids. I chose it because it's all organic and derived from natural foods not synthesized, does not contain megadoses, and contains prebiotics, probiotics, and supportive superfoods but no grasses, grains or grain- or grass-based sprouts which can be inflammatory. I don't like the Costco organic vitamin because it contains grains and grasses. Garden of Life Code is also available in multiple capsules per day with more superfoods. But I eat very healthy and want to keep it simple. Make sure "one" is in the name if you want the one a day version.
the only things I really like are the Qunol Turmeric, the Weider Prime, and the MCT Oil which is phenomenal. the Kirkland brand stuff is terrible because it almost all has soybean oil, which for Costco in-house products is a massive disappointment because usually Kirkland is excellent.
I bought a big container of Pea protein sthing I used t eat a lot in Hawaii now ste bound, anyway gave me terrible gas bloating n burping, had t give it away Also, I've been taking Calm f years it will knock out any CHARLIE HORSES IN CALVES MILD LAXATIVE I TAKE AT LEAST ONE TEASPOON EVERY NITE BFORE BE IT WILL FIZZ UP A BIT JUST DRINKNIT DOWN, ya don't need any sweetners cause u just shoot it down. Costco has a good price on it reg sm 15bbucks. Do not eat the gummies don't work like powder. Thx again thomas❤😂🎉😢😮
Berg said cheap, general available grocer store B’s are chemical; recommends the Nutritional Bakers Yeast, plant based. What are your thoughts. Plant based are a bit of a challenge to purchase other than online. Thank you.
The only supplement I take is D3. I get everything else from eating delicious fatty meats, avocados, nutritional yeast and some vege. Oh and this lifestyle is so damn affordable 😂😂😃😃
Thanks Thomas. Liked the information. Yes I thought Mct was for keto only. I started taking coq10 because of your information. I need some B’s too. What about Choline Inositol instead of B1? for repair of nerves? Costco should hire you as a consultant!
Is it possible which omega 3 good and multivitamin to take in Amazon. Please make sure it is available in Canada also. Please recommend magnesium also.
When I was 50 my testosterone level was 998. I'm now 60 and was tested a few months ago and it was over 1000. I don't know how far over because they stop measuring at 1000. At least that's what my doc told me. Is it strange that I'm gaining testosterone as I get older and not losing it? Should I be concerned?
I stopped buying supplements when I was introduced to wearable nutrition supplements, patches. The patches have a higher absorption rate as the nutrients are absorbed through your skin bypassing the stomach and liver. You're body only absorbs 20-30% of pills, gummies or chewables, whereas the patches have a 94-96% absorption rate.
I'm taking Vascepa too. It lowered triglycerides for my dad more than Mega Red. I haven't been on it long enough to do a follow up lipid panel. My dad stopped because of cost. I got 720 pills for $18, but I think even 360 for $240 (Kroger price) is comparable to Mega Red when you compare mg to mg. Vascepa (icosapent ethyl) is pure EPA, no DHA, studies seem to indicate EPA without DHA can do more to help CVD.
