Definitely a gorgeous build! I’m a little partial though to the AEVJL370 392’s build as once the tires go outside the wheel wells it loses its aesthetic appeal, but that’s personal taste. Both will tackle more than you’re willing to try off-road!
Whats wild about a 2009 wrangler 2dr is when you look at parts. Hardly any are over $300. Many less. I replaced alternator at Mammoth lakes CA in the Napa parking lot in less than 20 minutes. The only issue I have had is where exhaust attaches to manifolds and the inside bolts breaking. Replaced them with hardened ones. Love the JK. manual cruise great stereo no AC. Put goofy Rancho nitrogens on it called it good.
Stock 09 2dr stick. If you have those snow boards they will get you over a lot. I learned real quick it is fine stock. Decent tires. Manual. Won't fry in the heat as easy. I take a chain and 8000 pound come along. Nothing to hook to in desert anyway. Except another vehicle. I go alone mostly.
The best 4x4 I have seen was my boss put a 460 Pontiac engine on some frame dropped vw body on had 4 foot tractor tires on it. And it was 2wd. Not 4. 😅 Annihilated any 4x4 I ever saw. Probably 2 feet clearance. Mud forget it. No problem. Thing swam in it. Hill nope. 460cid kept front end down. He could run a wheelie as far as he wanted. Short wheelbase narrow. Short turn radius. A beast. Built out of junk.
sorry misunderstood Yes custom as they only come in black or machined. I too have these KMC Beadlocks with 38s on my 392- Had them powder coated bronze and the lock rings in black at a local shop in my case. Good luck- @@LOVE-62
I can't see spending $3000 on tires wheels or lift. Shocks. Or more. Got friends that spend $30k. I just follow them. If not enough clearance I use the boards. For oil in front diff. Engine. Manual trans. Transfer case. Radiator fluid change. Washer fluid. Tire check. Vavoline instant did it for $372. 3.8 everyone bitches about runs like a champ. Won't pull a grade in 6th who cares. At 2400 rpm it will go all day uphill in 5th. Apparently the key to long life is Valvoline instant regularly. I went first time and they had the previous owners whole history. Dealer replaced rear end and axle seals. Month after I bought it. My first jeep. Won't live without one now. Ever. Go from WA to CA to Saint George to Moab to Blanco. And back. Throw in death valley too. Bam.
"You dont have to do axel upgrades and 40's or 42's to have a capable jeep"... you just need to drop 120k on a jeep and then add about another 20k in upgrades but the axles are definity not needed, lol. Awesome jeep but you gota see the irony in your opening statement. If i didint see the opening video and was just listening to it I would assume you were in front of a XJ with a lunch box locker.
Unfortunately the US made warn has been very hard to get. I will say we’ve run a handful of the VR Evo winches and they have yet to let us down. Still a quality product.
