Arma15 does have a really good video of the install in a Ford F150. I used that as a guide for installing in a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Double cab. I added in a second piece of 3/16" x 6.0" steel plate so I have two of them across the seat frame. The best way is to remove the seat cover as much as you can and pull the seat foam cushion off the frame. The GM trucks use a very thick wall heavy seat frame in theirs so plenty of meat there. Then bend the ends of the steel plate so they curl around the seat frame at both ends so that when you drill your bolt holes through the seat frame ,you catch both sides of the plate.

Just installed 2 of these mounts under the rear seat if my '18 Silverado. The lower one is inverted so the rifle hangs upside down in it. I set it up for an AR that has tha collapsible stock . That overall length fits perfect under the seat. The upper mount is for the AR pistol . As far as storing the magazines , get a consol firearms vault and keep them locked up in there. Just remember , all anyone has to do to get into your vehicle is to break a window out. Secure your firearms from them.

Not intact. The lock engages through the extraction port in the upper so unless you cut that, it's not coming out. I imagine you could push out the takedown pins depending on what you've mounted it on.

That would fit! Just need to be able to reach the mag release.

Pealing the seat cover back is quite simple. No trick to get it back on besides maybe waiting until the temps are above freezing. They're pretty tight to begin with so just keep that in mind when poking holes and adding other points of contact.

I didn't want to mount it upside-down. Dust cover needs to be facing outwards for this to work.

Uhh...technically no matter which way it's facing...it's facing OUTWARD. about the only direction for it to face where it would be 'safe' in the context I THINK you're wanting is facing the ground. Which way do you want it to face? The rear? Passenger side? Your engine block? INTO THE SKY? You're being silly imo. The way the lock is designed, it's impossible for it to accidentally fire. IMPOSSIBLE. The locking mechanism blocks the bolt. Even if the lock were to somehow fail...there is no magazine attached. You going to lock it with a round in the chamber and the bolt back? That's just more dangerous, careless, and foolish than properly locking the firearm with this device facing ANY direction could ever be. The only way to make you happy is to NOT carry a firearm in a vehicle.

arma15 sells a steel support frame to tie into your trucks frame. Very rigid if you use their kit.
