hey juice, im pretty sure the depraved fan base in question is pertaining to halo. greatly unknown but if you’re not in the loop then we’re charted to receive something on halo 7 being developed by certain affinity. it has been confirmed to not be a main-like installment but a spin-off.

Honestly playing through fallout 3 again, vanilla except bug fixes and honestly I'm shocked at how well it holds up. Like even just the combat honestly works still, it's strangely satisfying even outside of the other elements of the game. I hope for a true remake, but even a remaster would be ok

A lot of people are begging for Obsidian to work on the next Fallout but the thing is - the people that worked on New Vegas aren't at the company anymore, whatever you're expecting from Obsidian isn't what you're going to get these days.

They can still hire Chris and Tim as freelancers (they both do such gigs, Chris as anything from a script doctor/consultant to writer and Tim does more game designing gigs while being retired). Skyblivion will require that you own a copy of Oblivion and its installed on your pc The launcher will check your pc for Oblivion every time you want to play skyblivion I can see Bethesda/microsoft asking the team to change it so you need the new oblivion or both

I honestly think that Skyblivion will be better, its made purely out of passion for the game and franchise, the official remaster/ maybe remake is being made to make money, but I'd love to be pleasently surprised and we end up with two very good games.

But if a copy is rwuuwired, that actually can boost sales a bit even if someone doesn’t play the original. After all, they still make money even if someone doesn’t actually play!

The time to start making a new Fallout games was 4 years BEFORE the TV show got released. Anything that gets started now won't be ready for years, and if it came sooner, it would be a giant, steaming, pile of manure.

@@MultiSpeedMetal that was with a finished engine and most scripts, grapfic assets etc already finished from fallout 3, hence why the games look so similiar in graphics. Its also why many originally hated new vegas, it was so incredibly buggy and took a long time to be solved. At best a studio could quickly create new graphics and reuse the rest from starfield but it would still take some time . Probably could be done in 2-3 years probably.

The Oblivion remaster potentially using a new rendering engine for graphics, but "skinned" over the original game/engine underneath for logic/animations is precisely how the Halo Anniversary remasters work. It'd be great if they also let you toggle in real-time between original versus enhanced graphics like those games did. I hope the Fallout 3 remaster is using the same "dual engine" approach, because Fallout 3 plays a lot more modern-ly than Oblivion, with it's primary dated aspect it's visuals.

Each of the side quests have different endings and ways to complete. You build up your player the way you want. Fallout 4 is voiced, and you can only really play as sole survivor. Look say what you want about Starfield. I'm guessing you didn't like it. But I played Starfield for about 200 hours in total, counting from the first day of early access. And I've had zero game breaking bugs. About 1-2 bugs in total, which were minor, and most reviewers said the same thing. Most people did not get very many bugs or issues in starfield at all. Performance issues for Nvidia cards, yes, which sucks, but overall the game was very playable early on. Clearly their best launch ever when it came to ironing out bugs. Gameplay issues existed ofcourse but it was honestly fine from a bug perspective.

I think Bethesda needed this, but more importantly, the fallout franchise needed this. If Bethesda doesn't do the series justice, someone else will, as history has shown. There are a lot of passionate people behind it. The show being as good as it was, as well as the many large mod projects around the game are proof of that.

Like any businessman, Todd isn’t entirely honest all the time but at the end of the day, he’s an extremely accomplished video game director, and a good boss with high employee retention-that’s extremely rare in the industry. He’s up there with Houser, Kojima and Miyazaki in terms of directorial prestige. You can recognize a Todd Howard game instantly. Todd is also prone to shareholder demands, hence Fallout 76. Todd took all the hate for that when the game wasn’t even his idea. There’s a lot to love in all of Todd’s projects, including the ones everyone hates.

@riverrat3101 you have to remember that alot of the modders don't get paid. They have full time jobs and treat skyblivion as a passion project. They put a few hours in across week to week but if bethesda actually offered full time salaries to the same projects with their own creation engine They would put those hours They put inside a week for skyblivion, into a singular day and then work all week every week just on the same project. It would be much quicker and the incentive would be there as it's now their job.

And the demands doesn't even make sense, like asking for remasters that will PROBABLY end up being souless and use 'realistic' generic assets in the place of the old unique ones, and mainly the "We want New Vegas 2!" like dude... There are already multiple Fallout fan games in production, specifically Fallout London, Fallout Miami, the Fallout 1 remake, and the Fallout 2 remake. If Bethesda and Microsoft want fallout games out within the next couple of years, the best way to do that would be to go the Sonic Mania route and elevate these fan games. Loan some Bethesda staff to help guide these projects, give them some money to speed productions, and help port these titles to Xbox as well as PC. They could easily get at least a couple of them out for mass market within several years.

I bumped in to a Bethesda employee and joking asked if Fallout 3 (my favorite) could get remade. He said there is list of "ideas" on a board somewhere and a Fallout 3 remake was on that board. Seemed like he chose his words very carefully, but definitely didn't say "no".

Something interesting is I watch Fargassiers stream quite a lot and he's just announced he's been invited to the event by Bethesda and if you know Farg, you'll know he's primarily a Fallout content creater, it does point to Bethesda talking about something Fallout related.

I think it was absolutely wild for a portion of the fanbase to absolutely hate on people that wished Bethesda at least communicated with the Fallout London mod team when Bethesda literally invited mod authors to come in and see the studio. That's just fucking blatantly communicating to your fans "Yea, we see these mod authors, but not /those/ mod authors". Really weird.

It's even more baffling to think about because it was easy PR for Bethesda and literally costed the company nothing to warn those poor bastards about the incoming update. It was a win-win and they botched it for no reason other than pride, can't think of anything else to be honest.

@@Blackfatrat That was my impression. The update was announced years ago. When it was delayed the general assumption was Bethesda was waiting for the TV series, which was basically correct. If Bethesda had dropped this blind with no warning I would understand the backlash, but they didn't. they said years ago. "next gen update is coming'. Meaning no disrespect to them but the FO London crew should have assumed this would have dropped in line with the TV series.

I doubt anyone would dare to remake Lost Odyssey. First of all it was an amazing game, and game studios don't like to make those anymore. However the second is because the game is VERY long. It also does not hand hold much if at all. It is a game catered to people who love story above all and is a good RPG. None of these appeal to studios these days because this caters to a niche market. I am a part of that niche. The niche that likes quality. The niche that loves a good story. Lately we've only had KCD for that.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but even if the Fallout 3 remaster is just the full game with a graphical update I’d still love that. I never actually got to finish that game when I was a young kid and it’s not available on much for consoles. And even if I pay for the PS Premium subscription I still don’t get to play the dlc.

Obsidian didn't really get shafted on NV. Sorry but it isn't true. They got paid the agreed amount. That's it. The bonus, with clear goals(sorry but getting 4/10 correct answers on a math test won't give you a pass grade if the pass grade is 5 points....), was even voluntary from Bethesda to encourage them to do a good job. It wasn't bad faith at all and I believe Chris avellone said the same thing...

Fallout 3 remaster isn't going to cut it, the game is dated and I doubt they will be doing a full blown remake with modern graphics. If they really want a new more modern Fallout game they NEED to partner with the modders/creators of Fallout: London, its massive mod/conversion for Fallout 4. It was recently pushed back due to the Fallout 4 patch breaking a lot of things. If Bethesda partnered with them to fix up the conversion, make it standalone, get it running on consoles, and release it as a full game/spin off for a cheaper price around $30. Most the work is already done, and Bethesda could split the profits with the modders and maybe even hire them for some new talent and some goodwill with customers. Microsoft get a new Fallout game out very quickly, with modern-ish graphics, for a cheap price to entice as many people as possible to dip into it. Its a win win.

*Do people not remember the FTC trial?* One of the biggest points of contention from both PlayStation and the FTC was that Xbox had already said they were going to put CoD on Game Pass, and the potential damages to PlayStation from that. Microsoft repeatedly confirmed that they were going to put Call of Duty on Game Pass, in front of a federal judge, and they were even challenged on whether they would increase the price of Game Pass because of Call of Duty. They said they wouldn't. I believe at least one Xbox exec was asked about this while they were actually on the stand, but I haven't gone back to look at the transcripts. Beyond that, *ALL first party games on Game Pass* has been the promise from day one of Game Pass - and they've kept that promise. Since Game Pass launched in 2017, all newly released first party games launched on Game Pass without exception.

But telling the FTC you aren’t going to do a thing and then doing it anyways isn’t exactly illegal, unless it breaks a formal contract or a law. My guess is they raise the price a little after COD is on gamepass so then they can be like “oh no.. the price raised just as a normal adjustment for the cost of doing business.”
