Granny wants to go home because folks is so unfriendly no one has come to call. Jed convinces her they should call on them, and they find that people welcome them and give them all manner of gifts when they show up on Halloween in their normal hillbilly clothes. Also, Jed works on getting Pearl to come visit while she's trying to get hitched to the oilman and find a young man for Jethrine.

The way the Clampett's misinterpreted the simplest things really made this show as funny as it was, and it's still just as funny in 2020 as it was when it premiered nearly SIXTY YEARS AGO. The Beverly Hillbillies ran from 1962 - 1971 (274 episodes, NINE seasons!).

I can't say I blamed him at ALL. He had to lip sync the words since the voice belonged to Linda Kay Henning (aka- Betty Jo Bradley from Peticoat Junction, who also happened to be the daughter of producer, Paul Henning). She used her muddle name as her last name in the closing credits on PJ.

The voice of Jethrene was done by Elizabeth McRae, who played Gomers girlfriend, Louanne Poovey on GPUSMC. There was one actress that did the voiceover for 2-3 episodes then McRae took over permanent. There was a contract dispute with the studio and some other Guild, so McRae had to do it under the table, and she said she desperately needed the extra cash. She didn't admit to it until a Townhall meet n greet with the cast of GPUSMC, Petticoat Junction and The Beverlyhillbillies. I was there when she said it.

The b/w episodes were the hilarious ones...the Clampets acted the most stupid in them.I'd think they would've heard of Halloween.They thought the kids really looked like monsters.Kate Bradley as Pearl sure looked young.She also played on the Burns and Alan show.It's amazing their old vehicle made it from the southern mts.to Los Angeles.I've never seen Granny use the washer or dryer.They think silent stars are alive and looking 25 or younger. LOL.

In this episode, Pearl refers to Jed as being her cousin and Jed refers to her as being his cousin. I am just trying to keep things straight. So Jed married Granny’s daughter who later died leaving Jed a widower. Ellie is Jed’s daughter and only child. Pearl is Granny’s sister? Jethro and Jethrene are Pearls children How does all of this make Jed, Pearl’s cousin?

You know it's Max Baer playing Jetherine but not the voice. That belonged to Linda Kaye Henning, daughter of producer Paul Henning who also played Betty Jo Bradley on Petticoat Junction, one of several spin-off shows from The Beverly Hillbillies . I had a Crush on her but was disappointed that she was several years older than I.

You are correct. It was used when the show was on prime time and when it went into syndication and probably when it was released by Columbia House (on VHS tape). It was when some episodes went into “open domain” that the original opening/closing theme was substituted.
