Immortalstar01 When I first saw the part where Sheldon’s head was going through the wormhole (which was several years ago) I thought for the first couple of seconds that this was a dream Howard or Raj was having one night. XD
My favorite part of this is, by their reaction, they are admitting that as totally implausible as it seems, that is anyone could have created a wormhole generator, it would be Sheldon.
I’ve never done video editing before but I’m pretty sure something like that would have taken a lot of time and skill, especially getting the lighting effects just right.
One of my favorite quotes from Sheldon, and a great line about setting firm boundaries when dealing with painfully nosy individuals: "You don't need to know. You don't deserve to know. And you will never know."
I can't remember which channel (Looper I think) but someone put out a video saying that Sheldon's shirts indicate the mood he's in or the gag that's about to go down.
But let's be honest, what Sheldon said about difficulty navigating certain aspects in life and the need to recharge is actually true and relatable. Of course we know, his is by playing with a ball but we do have our own unique ways of recharging our self-batteries.
@@armstrongtixid6873 How could Sheldon (Jim Parson) have hid in the couch without have hidden without Leonard (Johnny Galecki) noticing he was sitting on top of him?
@@bobbiusshadow6985 i got into a death battle on whether or not Bruce Wayne's intelligence surpasses Tony Stark. And this was after the 45 minute argument on the best Robin. (Damien!) Not to mention almost murdering my friend because he spoiled Episode 7 by telling me Han Solo died. I consider myself a very big nerd. And I'm proud of it!
@Lil Sket um, not so!! Batman: The Long Halloween, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, Tower of Babel, list goes on. Not to mention Batman. Batman is always a win. Marvel has the Live Action movies in the bag, but DC's animated movies are far Superior to Marvel's animation. And I'm saying this as a dedicated Marvel Fan. I used to avoid DC because i thought Marvel was just better, but I've started to love the DC storylines.
@Lil Sket 1: I'm a 15 year old girl, my parents would kill me if i wasn't a virgin. 2: Who's really cringy, the girl who offered storyarchs that are genuinely interesting, or the random stranger on the Internet that's attacking her?
It really doesn’t take being a sports prodigy to bounce a small satchel of sand on your foot. Sheldon isn’t athletic, and he doesn’t need to be to play with a hacky sack.
Sheldon does study String Theory which if proven could support the existence of wormholes, so it makes sense that Sheldon would have an understanding of how to make a wormhole.
The simplicity of this is great, we're expecting some really wacky and out there thing to happen. It's just him playing kick bag to ease some tension, brilliant 🤣
Sheldon has always been my favorite character from TBBT, and this is quite probably one of my favorite scenes with him. Not because of the entire wormhole scenario. But because of how he was humanized here. For at least one scene, we were given the chance to experience things from his perspective, get his viewpoint on the world, and how he functions in it. Instead of making his character shallow and using him as the punchline as the authors usually do, they instead chose to show a side to Sheldon so rarely seen in the show. And I absolutely love that, and am kind of sad that so rarely was this side of his shown. It fascinates me how when viewing the comment section, most of the comments were focused on the first part of the scene instead of the second. Perhaps I missed the point entirely in it. Or perhaps I'm simply looking too deep into a rather light-hearted show. Nevertheless, good scene.
Nah, I agree completely with you here. This scene humanised him in the best possible way. Sheldon struggles in the ways his friends don't. And while they do understand him enough to put up with him, they can't completely grasp how he functions on a regular basis. With that brain that he has and anxiety and confusions, Sheldon has a lot going on. Even though it's a sitcom, the show does a great job at handling Sheldon.
Which is why the prank could work in the first place. Whatever Howard and Raj's opinions of Sheldon are, if they didn't at least respect his intelligence enough to believe he could do this, they never would have fallen for it.
This is the best scene in the entire series from beginning to end. The level of “gotcha” is just epic, because someone like Sheldon is actually capable of creating such a device.
hes a genius. for someone like sheldon all figuring that out would take is the right software and 5 minutes of reading. Or he coulda paid someone to on whatever the big bang theory universes equivalent of fiverr is
I like to think the directors just told Jim Parsons to keep the ball up as long as possible and in one of the outtakes, Jim actually made it to 43, so they had to reshoot it. XD
I would not mind a basement room for myself. It would contain a comfortable couch, a coffee machine, and a stack of books I've been trying to read for 10 years.
Sheldon is legitimately upset here. He can be annoying with his quirks and spots and schedules but this is something that legit helps him wind down and he can do it by himself meaning it is sacred. He wasn't pulling a prank, he was setting a boundary. This is just how he sets boundaries. To Sheldon a prank is whimsical, not terrifying (usually)
Physically speaking kicking the sack is the perfect downtime for a Theoretical Physicist, the quest to understand how the universe works distracted/defeated by randomness. Brilliant choice of activity.
I'll admit that this show can still manage a good scene, every now and then. Heck, they should've just run with this idea and brought some actual sci-fi into the mix....
@@martinxy1291 Well I wasn't planning on it be a horror series... It would be hard no doubt, but I think it could still be awesome to here from these characters again. The fact that it would be physically and mentally challenging for them would create a lot of character development. I honestly think it would be fun to see, and the actors might enjoy it too.
the fact that i knew from the beginning when they started getting suspicious that sheldon is probably doing something silly but still 100% believe that he could possibly create a universal portal lol
a very surprisingly athletic hobby for sheldon. personally i expected to simply stare at the number all day like that one guy who tapes himself smiling at the camera even when he had to piss himself and his house was being robbed.
This is one of my favorite Sheldon moments from the whole show, as there are some things he just wants to remain a mystery to his friends, adds to his character.
Minute 01:40 "Understanding sarcasm!" To be someone who claims to have difficult with that, he pulled out a very funny and mind-blowing prank. I also love that it seemed so accurate his playing with the ball. For most part of the day he deals with complicated stuffs about theoretical physics so, even for a genius, it make sense that he wants to turn his mind off and deals with something easier and childish as dribbling the ball and get a good score. This is not some random comic addition. This is well-written stuff! Love it!
