Really funny- Season 4- Howard drives Sheldon crazy with a magic trick- MUST WATCH- ALL SCENES Please like the video by clicking on the thumbs up if you like it.
This episode is Gold. I hate how every single time Sheldon disses Howard for not having a doctorate, so seeing Howard troll Sheldon is such sweet vengeance. He should do it more often.
well no. penny could have figured out Raj was in on it (note how she glances at Raj before whispering to Howard) and whispered to Howard smthg like, "Raj peaked"
I like how in his complete hubris, Sheldon never notices that barring the first time he did the trick, Howard never follows the procedure he did, like asking the birth date, adding it up, etc, and changes his own trick multiple times, to the point where at the end, he is just guessing lol.
Alex well yeah, i know how he did it, but to sheldon it should look like he is just guessing... I am saying, for being so intelligent, he conveniently missed it lol.
The bit that Howard is doing by asking questions is called "patter." It's designed to distract and divert. The questions Howard ask are chosen because they match the gimmick. Which (espicially with cards) can be done 3 or 4 different ways dor every outcome. Its the fun of card tricks ☺
Sheldon discards the "procedure" because he "knows" that's what magicians use to distract the "victim(s)" of the trick. The core of the trick is "You pick a card, I shuffle, I guess", the "magician" can put the card wherever he wants when shuffling, so the subsequent times Howard just guesses or places the card at some specific position.
Love how Raj and Penny were acting the whole time that Howard got their cards right yet it was actually wrong. Sheldon was too confused to actually check!
Many sleight-of-hand magicians perform similar tricks. And Simon Helberg who plays Howard does magic tricks in real life, which is why they wrote that into the show.
I did this to a friend of mine for a while during a party. He was sitting in front of a mirror, so I could see what he picked every time... He was also really drunk, but he swore I was doing real magic while everyone else knew there was a mirror there.
This was one of the times Sheldon got what he deserved. As much as he is a basically good person, every trick done to him that has embarrassed him he brought on himself. But then.. it also is very telling that the more complicated the mind.. the easier it is to fool the mind as well. Sheldon lets himself be opened up to how Howard and others do that to him.
In real life, he would have gone into depression at an early age because of how other's treat him just coz he is different. His arrogance makes makes sure people don't make his life a hell. This video is a prime example. One chance and they make him suffer enough. Lifetime of such chance, he might commit suicide in this world if he isn't arrogant and self-centered nature.
I had a friend like him n I was the only one who was saving him from others n one day in the factory, when I was explaining something he said that is trash because I am saying it..... I got so angry that I was about to whack him up with a spanner... just stopped myself because it's work place... after reaching the room I asked him to give me a valid reason but he said it is not his subject but still it is trash because I said it... he gauged me on the basis of my lack of knowledge on a common subject we deal with... then I said enough.. had 6pegs of rum and whipped his ass...
Not really. Have come across some brilliant dudes with similar arrogance. And they are living their life without any problems. Thing is, such people usually stay away from people who are physically intimidating or dangerous.
Arifin Aslam Well, technically that might be true, if he keeps trying to figure it out he may end up with an innovation that might change the world, making him get his Nobel prize
I actually never noticed how howard figured out it was two of hearts The two part was pretty obvious he was showing two fingers but I didnt realized he specifically put the two fingers where his heart is located
These scenes in the cafeteria are some of the best examples of TV eating anywhere. Everybody, even the background actors, are forever pushing their food around on their plate, never taking a bite. It's so frequent, it becomes obvious.
The man who invented the semi conductor, didn’t have a doctorate, neither did the man who invented the blue LED. They were both looked down on because they didn’t have PHD’s by those who did.
LOL this episode is one of my favorite. I have a co-worker who is somewhat like Sheldon. He just has to go completely out of his way to figure something out. Mentally torturing your fellow co-worker can be fun at times. Rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock is another good one.
You know this episode was about romance drama too, right? Raj's sister wanted Leonard to get away from Penny because she is his ex-girlfriend I hate when people complain about the late show for things there were always there since the beginning
funny thing he suddenly lost his vulcan hearing. When they are whispering on season 1 or 2 he hears penny and Leonerd whisper behind the door and he hears everything they say
That's part of the joke, his arrogance and looking down upon Howard clouded his judgement, like when he lost the Physic's bowl b/c he couldn't let the other guy win it w/ the right answer.
The condescending way that Sheldon mocks Howard saying he'll thank him in his noble speech is extra awesome knowing how genuine Sheldon's thank you to Astronaut Wolowitz was.
Yeah this show used to be hilarious but it's gone downhill over the years. I think all shows run their course it's just that some shows go on long after they stopped being good. With the possible exception of The Simpsons this show is the best example of that.
Thank you very much for all your likes. Never thought how much interest this would generate when it was first uploaded so thanks a lot for all your likes, good comments and for subscribing. :) :) :)
It's not 1985 anymore. I'm guessing uranium is no longer available in every corner drug store? And at the time this show takes place, it's a little hard to come by again? 😉
But Sheldon has been proven to have ubsurdly good hearing and heard Raj and Howard whisper from across the room, and even heard Leonard coming into the main bit of the appartment. Why would he not have heard Penny whispering to Howard?
***** Nerd? Am I supposed to be insulted by that? Especially seeing as I'm watching a show comprised mainly of people that are categorised as nerds? Good one.
Haha again another stereotype. Believing 20 year olds can't have pokemon as their youtube icon. Most of the youtubers who do pokemon are over 20. And another in getting all so angry because I'm disproving your arguments. You'd know I was 20 listening to my rubbish videos lol. I'm genuinely feeling sorry for your misguided views. Wanna try being sensible for once?
1:46 i absolute love the continuity here. Just like Raj before, Penny counts the number of times obtained by summing all the numbers of her birthday, which is December 2nd (1+2+2=5). In the show it’s revealed on the pilot that she’s Sagittarius but her exact birthday is revealed only during one of the last seasons, when she and Leonard are already married. This show is a masterpiece.
