I will say it again: TBC was the best version of WoW, and I would give my left nutsack to play it again. Please Blizzard, make it happen.

As a programmer for a large gaming company, it truly blows my mind that Blizzard didn't just have the source code for different versions ... This is viewed as one of the premier companies, yet they don't make proper point releases which have a centralised storage location? If someone asked me to get a build for our game from 2 years ago, it would take me just as long to retrieve that compared to our latest. Sure, the hardware on which we're running might give us some stick, and it will take some figuring out as we don't virtualise every point release ... but what the fuck Blizzard? If they didn't have that 1 random employee who still had a hard drive slinging around, classic WoW would've never existed :^) Fucking nuts.

God I loved tbc so much. It was the first time I went full hardcore wow (played original vanilla but only casually really.) The sense of progression you felt finally killing lady vashj and you could finally start working on kael'thas, or from archimonde to BT. I feel like TBC was the absolute sweet spot in wows history between "early enough that everything isn't homogenized yet" and "matured from the imbalance and inexperience of vanilla"

I actually really like how in classic, the items found off mobs and given as quest rewards are something that can be useful later in your journey. It's like all these trophys and trinkets you've collected along the way are actually a useful part of your kit, something you would actually want. Rather than it being something only useful as a stack stick during the level got it.

The idea that flying ruined wpvp is bullshit because Outland was filled with pvp objectives in 4 zones that you had to be on the ground to contest so pvp happened all the time. Not to mention, it does nothing to stop the ganking of lowbies since you can't learn flying until max level. By the time you can fly, you're already 70 and probably have pretty decent gear so you're not exactly a ganking target to begin with.

For some reason MadSeason's content makes me feel nostalgic even though I have no experience from WoW before like Legion.

What if they released classic Plus and TBC classic at the same time? Make new servers for TBC that you can transfer to and the existing classic servers get classic. You can then choose where you want to go with your character and no servers will completely die. I know there is flaws in this so I am just brainstorming

Being a software developer myself, I can not imagine a company like Blizzard just losing a bunch of WoW data and code. That's what version control systems are made for. Also remember - they still have code and assets for games like d2, starcraft, warcraft, etc. But they very conveniently lost classic data. Suuuuuuuuure........ They were not beginners but a huge company at the time. I will never believe they don't have the data. But I will believe that they wanted to spend as little money on classic as possible, while also being deathly afraid of not breastfeeding (is that the word?) Their fanbase by providing latest version possible to (God forbid!) Not present it as too hard or imbalanced

There were no expertise gems in tbc. Also class balance was horrendous in tbc. Warlocks were the gods of dps, alongside rogues and fury warriors. Mages were simply pointless in the sunwell, except for food, water and the int buff. Remember the story of the first Thorin'dal being given to a rogue? Well, we didn't have any hunters in the raid, because they were pointless, as their pet would die every few seconds in the face of aoe damage. Alliance retribution paladins were much worse than their horde counterparts. And in regards of every raid being available at launch for TBC (except Black Temple, Zul'Aman and The Sunwell)... Blizzard learned from this and never did it again, since the raids were so buggy. Kind of like raiding heroic 10m at the start of cata.... but worse. A classic tbc would have the tier 4 and 5 content cleared withing weeks, due to working encounters, addons and a better understanding of the viability of classes.

my favorite change from classic to tbc is "clicking nothing un-targets."

BC was way better then vanilla IMO.... don't get me wrong, I still loved my time playing vanilla back in the day but they fixed so many balance issues in BC, classes/specs got more fleshed out (esp in regard to hybrids and hybrid tax) plus itemixation stuff like merging melee/spell hit rating, spell power instead of +nature/frost ect specific spell schools, better itemized and designed gear in general, tuning CC to be less op like stunlocks, and all that jazz. I didn't play the new classic servers but i might for BC.

I literally resubbed to classic after watching this video LoL =p. Buttttttt not so much because of my interest in classic but only because I'm so excited for BC that I want a few characters to choose from at 60 if/when it finally does come out!!! Rated arenas change the PvP game so much and outland was awesome!

i might be alone in this but I really don't like constant balance changes over the course of many patches, my ideal solution would be probably just as much work for blizzard however, which is rather than leaving everything on the latest state, with all the content nerfed, I would like them to craft a version which dealt with some of the balance problems that temporarily plagued TBC before being fixed in the next patch, but without nerfing the overall content. the idea of all the raids being there from the release and there being a long race to clear everything sounds absolutely amazing. a marathon, rather than sprint, for world firsts, would be so cool. all the heroics, and keys and attunements at their original difficulty

people say "flying killed World PVP"... Well, I remember I had a lot of fun oneshotting people off Mounts with my Arcane Mage and my Hunter back in the days. And the battles we had around the PVP objectives in Outlands were epic. People who say "fling was bad for the game" clearly were never there when we took off to the sky. Good times we had :)

Sorry Mad, but TBC raids are going to be steamrolled through just as fast as Classic by the tryhard guilds.

As much as I love classic, the raiding really turned me off, honestly. Its more likely that I was in a shitty guild, but it got really annoying spending most of my time farming gold/consumes just in hopes that the loot council would be nice enough to grant me a piece of gear. Honestly, I think people care WAYYYY too much about parsing and logs.

I hope they release TBC. I loved running heroic 5mans! I just hope it’s still hard... oh and no more world buff nonesense

I would love tbc and possibly wotlk, but where does it stop? If we keep following the previous expansions won't it inevitably lead to the other awful expansions that saw blizzardd subscription base dwindle?

On the point of all the raids being out at launch: It would be an absolute disaster of a mistake for Blizz to do that this time around for a re-release. They would have to be imbeciles not to change this. Don't expect it to stay that way.

I disagree with the progressive talent balance. It does affect the gameplay greatly and most likely would affect raiding big time, because people dont have pre made guides for it from 10 years ago. Itemization is also something big thats is always mentioned with TBC. I think its something that SHOULD be emulated alongside proper patch itemization because then it would just another private server with steamroll content due to the late game patch (almost tbc) talents, much like classic is right now. TBC Suffers the same, while the game is hard, true, End game TBC talents tuned for the last tier of content. some might say that they almost feel pre-wrath

I really hope they have the original overpowered raids to start with - honestly after seeing how easy Classic stuff was, it might be doable for the player-base this time around - then they can release the easier ones for phase 2 or 3 or something.

"Ret Paladins are good in tbc" Except they are not, TBC is super melee unfriendly, and paladins are still a glorified auto attack class even more so if you are alliance.

I started in 2005, but I never got into raiding until TBC. I mostly ran with a guild that did Tier 4 content to gear people up who were going to move onto Tier 5 and up (Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon, and Zul'Aman). I learned how to raid heal and later main tank on my paladin as well as blasting away on my frost mage. Maybe it was how accessible getting into the content was compared to Vanilla, but I loved TBC and count it as my favorite expansion.

Hard disagree on class changes throughout bc. Sounds like it will cause more problems than it solves.

I really dont like Muru and KT being used examples of 'hard fights'. KT was fundamentally broken as a fight; it was super long and every phase had a chance to just stop, there was a mage caster as well that would just do 5000% more damage than they were supposed to bc it was supposed to be a punishment for not doing a mechanic, but it just seemed to never go away. Muru was just this insane numbers check. But I remember just people getting a few extra BM hunters in and it was gg ez then. This mystique of old fights being hard is just that. The first 'hard' fight that people will encounter moving forward is going to be 0 lights then 0% HLK. I think however, that BC is the near perfect difficulty for raids challenging but very doable. Every fight has the clear point where you can or cant do something. Into cata and the 2 fights in WotLK the fights are too hard H Rag killed my love of raiding after the 344th attempt. best part of TBC .. removal of the buff grind outside the alchemy. i sort of hate it in classic .. and the worst .. you actually don't need these buffs to kill the bosses in the raid.

I played BC when I was young and didn't have the patience/time to get higher than 38~ or so. I'd love to be able to get a second chance to reach the Outland with BC Classic :D

I haven't bit the bullet back into WoW Classic yet. The Burning Crusade would definitely push me over the edge back into it.

I just hope blizz will release TBC raids pre nerf or even overtune them on purpose. I think players can handle it in 2020.

I love your videos man, even if I don't like Classic. But saying that BC was any harder than Classic is just plain wrong. This discussion is done for since the first week MC clear. Goal posts are always moved... "MC will be hard" "BWL will be hard" .... oookay "AQ will be hard" "Naxx will be hard". They simply will not be. Not only do we know what the encounters do but the mechanical requirements to actually do them are below the easiest 5-man boss currently in the game. BC is no different. Have you done the Black Temple time-walking raid with complete morons? That is what BC will be difficulty-wise. Not a challenge at all.

I don't know. I never cared for TBC when it was released, skipped past it for years as much as I could, and was finally glad I could skip it completely later on. I enjoyed vanilla, but TBC always felt like they were turning it into World of Starcraft. Even now, I'm on a hiatus (and seriously undecided as to whether to return) from both retail and classic. I may have just outgrown the need to play WoW (and possibly any MMO, since I'm not playing ESO or Rift either, both of which I also enjoyed). All that being said, I still enjoy your videos. ;-)

The earliest they should announce if they are doing TBC Classic, if they decide to, is when Naxx comes out. If they announce it before Naxx, I predict a VERY sharp drop in active players in classic. Please do not duplicate what you (blizzard) did in vanilla. When TBC was announced, the majority of guilds stopped raiding and never got to experience Naxx, myself included. Im all for TBC Classic, but give us time to play what we did not get to in Vanilla. I cleared Naxx in Northrend, but from everything I have watched and read, it was not even close to the same as original. My $.02 of course.

I pray to god they make a TBC server. With as you said, a very DETAILED patch by patch recreation. There will be lows and highs for each class, and you just play through it. By the end of TBC blizz nerfed everything so everyone could access all of the content. Also, blizz front loaded T4 and T5 at the start, that's half the total content of TBC. If they do that, people will quickly do it all and be "done". They need to keep the attunments and the difficulty up so people have content to chew on. They did hint that they had no real backup of older data and they were working with a back up of a back up.... I believe at that blizzcon they mentioned that they had much better details of TBC+ so, I am hoping they put in some real work and make it progressive in every way. I'll be honest, if they don't make TBC and Wrath, I'm jumping ship from any classic "reroll" to a TBC or Wrath Pserver because the min max/world buffing culture is not really my thing. Of course, we haven't hit the actual challenging content of AQ or Naxx yet so maybe they world buffing won't be as big of a thing due to wiping and progressing on fights but the whole stack melee and things die before casts go off is annoying. Praying for TBC and Wrath. If not, I'll have to go to a Pserver to get my fix like I did 2 years ago. TBC dungeon grind and raids and the dailies and everything is just 10000x better than classic.
