Thank you to everyone for pointing out my mistake about the AI. I didn't know they paid voice actors to use their voices, so I appreciate being educated on that. However, i still think the AI really sucks.
They need to separate PC with console that alone will kill the game and it's already causing issues either way PC players always say aim assist broken so let them play with each other we only wanted cross platform for console either way
yeah, if they improved the AI voices a bit and added custom functionality like you said (ex: “funz just dominated the live wires with a swift triple kill!”) then it would be kind of revolutionary tbh
The Ai voices is so if a changé happens, doesn't matter how small or big. Like a new way a gadget works or a new game mode or team names. They can change it instantly without going through the whole procès of getting the actors again and planning recording dates for every little thing that they want to change. And like I said stuff changes fast. It actually makes sense to use Ai voices

btw the AI voice actors calling out player names was a thing but was scraped due to people naming themselves inappropriate stuff for this reason everyone in beta had random names

The idea for the AI voices was to make a more adaptable announcer during the matches to bring out that "You're a gameshow contestant" feel to the game. While most public use on AI is unethical it was confirmed in an interview the devs paid voice actors to use their voices on an AI model the devs made themselves so the source of it was ethical. Is it perfect? no. Does it get the job done? Yeah kinda.

I think because of how different this game is compared to other games, that it will survive. I mean where else are you gonna blow up an entire village chasing down some little gremlin with too many hours in this game?
Most didn't even play it but jumped on late. Games gives me op shadowrun vibes. The game was so unique in how they designed the elves humans dwarves and trolls and ability to go along with each character and weapon.
You can hear them. But it's not CS, sure. And it's good CS has so good sounds, because otherwise that game has like 20% of the game engine and content variability of THE FINALS, you could almost call it Dry compared to the latter. So you can hear enemy sometimes and even more if you actively slow down and listen, but it's not the point of the game. There's so many other options for detection. Recon sense, sonar grenade, turret, mines, motion sensor....
To be fair it also takes an incredible amount of time to get to that point. The average Joe who gets to hop on after work to play the game is going to feel fine with the speed at which the game drip feeds you unlocks and content. It’s only season 1, so there is going to be a lot more to add. We need to remember how new this game is. It’s not like Fortnite which has years of rotating content. They have to make things which is why the shop updates weekly and not daily. I find it frustrating when the player base that logs 15 hours a day are the ones criticizing the content of the game. You are consuming it at a rate way higher than majority of the player base. I’ve logged probably 30-40 hours so far and I’m level 15. The progression in this game, to me, is very slow. Those who are maxed out claiming there’s not enough are just playing much more than any devs could keep up with. Also it was just Christmas. Let them work. They’ve been consistently updating. They’ll add content. I don’t know who said they weren’t.
Unemployed, kids and The Asocialites have to understand that ya'll dig your own graves in that grind.... If you wanna lose your life better get into drugs. More content variation and you'll lose all of your free time no problem.
Loved Finals for first 2 weeks. Then I got backfilled into a Bank It game with a ragehacker. He killed everyone on every team from across the map, without line of sight. He went 58-0 in about 5 minutes. He was somehow not automatically banned
You waited to see that blatant cheater go 58-0? Why didn't you quit in the first 10 kills where it was obvious he was cheating? I feel sorry for your 3 remaining braincells.
I see myself supporting this game forever just based on how great the devs are. You can tell they play the game and that they designed this with fun at the forefront
Me too the last shooter I got into was split gate but most new shooters I don't care for while Apex had terrific gun play the battle Royale format was just played out for me, I'm so glad this game is pulling players from fortnite and war zones simply because it's really good, Also because they have loadouts system like TF2 instead of heroes hopefully this game won't eventually become broken like Overwatch or Apex I.E a great game being broken over time due to the Meta being destroyed by too many heroes that become impossible to balance
I have 100 hours in THE FINALS. Enough said... No but for real i haven't bought the battlepass for anything... ever, yet i did here, because the cosmetics are just a fun thing to grind for... a fun grind? wow, i just hope the game will update with a bunch of new weapons to try out and a few new maps, then nothing will stop this game for taking over like Fortnite did.
i Deleted this game yesterday cuz of cheaters in every ranked tournament and i was heavy main cuz i like destruction plays but they nerf nuke and rpg damn i didnt thought this would be that quick
@@kolasis4994Last patch confirmed recon senses is getting a full overhaul and it's a priority. The devs are listening. But they aren't your momma who'll come running after your first spoiled "WAAAAAH". Things take time. An adult would know that.
I tried it. After 30 minutes I felt like I was going to have seizure or epileptic fit with all the flashing lights and fruit machine noises. Un-installed it and returned to The Hunt Showdown.
It's alright but if you don't have friends to play with then you're going to have a bad time. They are adding a solo mode but the game is so team focused that I don't think it's going to grab my attention again. I do see the game carving it's own little niche in the shooter space given how Battlefield dropped the ball.
exactly my experience. Somehow I keep getting really bad teammates, like they're playing the game for the first time, while I'm here getting 5k combat scores and have 20k deposit (I play bank it), while they're at
yes and no. I mainly play solo and have 100+ hours in the game. It depends on HOW you play the game really, Any team based game is going to feel better if you're playing with, well a team, especially when thats team is your friends.
the game has such an ugly artstyle and looks so thrown together i like the concept and hope it somewhat thrives so we actually see some more sandboxy team based shooters but it looks so soulless
Nah it’s true. That and the gunplay is ass. Never been so underwhelmed by a game so hyped before. Uninstalled after an hour of trying multiple guns and classes and it all felt like shit.
They need a group finder option like overwatch had on console. It was single handedly one of the best features ive seen in a competitive game. Made ranked so much more fun. Also they need to add a ranked bank it mode because I feel like its the better of the 2 modes. Ranked is great and I have had a good time playing it, I just feel like bank it is the better mode. I also disabled the announcers.
I think for a smaller dev team, using AI isn't a terrible idea if it saves them money and they can focus on the game rather than stuff like voice actors. Aparently it can take weeks to months to implement new voice lines normally.
@GaaraFPS But we definitely play in Asian or sea servers if there is no Aus server. The annoying part in this situation is you often can't communicate with your team mates. The finals in my experience has been particularly bad for this
I also have a problem with the cosmetic pricing. You look at a set and it costs 1400 multibucks. The multibucks you can buy are either 1150 or 2400 or something similar. That's just scummy.
@@SynthesiZR No it's just called being scummy. They can make money just selling good cosmetics. Pricing things like that is simply wrong. I personally would have paid for something if the pricing wasn't like this. I'm tired of people making excuses for this for no reason. You know it's wrong, stop excusing it.
@@rainycakethe 1400 dollar bundles are 15 dollars. While I do wish they just let you buy it outright without the double multibuck purchase, it's not terrible. The extra coins you get from buying a 1400 bundle can be used on a la carte items instead of just pooling in your wallet, so this game handles currency overflow better than most
The gamemodes are what killed the games enjoyment for me, the game is a 3 stack 3rd party simulator at the moment where two teams just wait for one team to be stupid enough to go for the objective and silently agree to team on them before fighting each other for the cashout. Doesn’t help that going for vault gives you nothing, and that you can snag all the reward last minute with no penalty, at least push back the timer upon steal so the 3rd party has to take defensive for once. Also, the ttk is not built for flexible team play, if you meet more than one person in a fight you *will* lose.
have you even tried tournament or ranked? you get money for starting the vault and putting it in the cashout. also, there is a solo mode. @@SynthesiZRYou can actually team wipe by yourself in specific scenarios but it basically requires your entire loadout. So basically a clutch ability for certain loadouts to help the team in dire situations

@@zs9652 if you can isolate separate members of Team it can be quite easy, but my point was that if you are in a direct fight with more than one people you will almost always die
I put nearly 300 hours into this game straight no-lifed it, some quickplay, mostly unranked/ranked tournament. I've easily spent $60 in the store (because I wanted to support the game). I hopped onto the recon wagon right before it exploded into popularity, defended it vehemently while in denial, until this past weekend where I couldn't even play quickplay to screw around with throwing knives and sniper without having to deal with 3+ people running it. You have to run it to even stand a chance in ranked, unranked tourney to a lesser degree. I've played a TON of CSGO and have come across many wall hackers, and I've trained myself to expect them around any corner or angle, but I simply am not smart enough to prepare for 4+ recon runners from 3 different teams and how to play around that without running it myself. My suspicion is that the casual playerbase mainly stays in quickplay, and once recon has infested that fully..the game will die. I am done with the game until it's gone, along with many others.
They will need to work on things like fluidity. It’s no secret that right now COD and Fornite are the biggest shooting games on PC and console. Maybe CS is biggest on PC but in total I mean. Now both these games are supersmooth. Like you feel as if you got 100% control on your character. While on the The Finals, say you run to the edge of a rooftop and you quickly stop. Your character will still move abit more and then you fall off where you tried to stop. It’s no secondary weapons which makes you feel helpless when your 30 bullet mag is done. And for console players using other games on 120Hz, going to X|S version of The Finals only to see it’s 60FPS makes it feel "laggy" and overall not a nice expirience. They got a good foundation, great graphics and idea but they need to really work on these things in order to stay alive. They’re battle pass etc is brilliant so lots or good things. World physics like building breaking and sound is very good! But movement still needs refinement.
Dont know if you touch on this yet or not, but for me the fun of this game was killed when playstyles evolved into nothing but trip mines, gas, and turrets. I cant stand games that facilitate auto play. You launched this game to play it, but pick a loadout built to let you play as little as possible. Its not fun.
I grew up playing Socom II. Multiplayer didn't have progression, classes, unlockables, character or weapon customization. You pick a default looking character based on the team you're on (Seals or terrorist) choose a weapon and that's it. The gameplay of Socom is what kept the game going, not flooding the game with new weapons, modes or other content. I don't think the use of A.I or the current state of content is going to kill the game because the game has a strong foundation. If anything just add more maps, but even then the game is fun as hell as is. Even if they don't add more maps, the gameplay itself is going to keep me plaing for quite some time. Biggest issue now is cheaters.
hey I am a gen z kid and I had a hard time paying attention to the video. could you add some more quick memes and funny pauses followed by a loud sound? maybe split screen it with a mobile game?
One thing I noticed about this game is the lack of patience people/the community has for it. Within days of the release, videos uploaded on social media talking “what’s wrong with the game”, “the game wont last because”, “this weapon is worst gun to use and here’s why”. This is one of the reasons why great games don’t last and then everyone converts back to the basic COD, APEX, WZ etc. Then complain about the lack of variety in the gaming industry. Having ex Dev from bigger corps venture out on their own is extremely risky and time consuming. People need to watch more videos of the Devs interviewing about the game than watching pro gamers/ game influencers complaining about this weapon is S,B or A tier. Give the Devs grace and wait for things to unfold. We haven’t hit 4 months yet from the release date. We want things so fast to happen. Dev using AI for the announcers isn’t a be a big deal honestly, if people understood the reasoning. They’ve spent almost all of their resources on the core gameplay. If they can’t afford it, they can’t afford it…simple. Imagine having “fantastic announcers” but horrible core gameplay. 4 maps and a couple of weapons, 4(2) game modes is totally fine. Smaller Dev team, that travels the world to create these maps, again not an easy task. Developing a balanced map takes time. I feel for the PC community playing with cheaters, it really sucks for you guys. I’m on console so I don’t have a problem with cheaters. Great video I love discussions points.
One thing for sure about this game, is that it feels so good to play that it's enough for me to come back time and time again. I haven't had this much fun in a shooter since COD4 promod.
I think this came at the perfect time. At least for me. The BR genre is bland and boring at this point and arena shooters can sometimes grow repetitive and often aren’t updated frequently enough. The finals is a middle ground between the intensity of a BR and the pace/loop of an arena shooter. Thanks to the finals I can confidently say I will not be buying MW3 or playing any Warzone this year.
What if Hideo Kojima used ai characters and ai voices and said "Its an inovative way to make every character new and none you are used to", would you be fine with it or support it? NO, THERE WOULD BE AN OUTRAGE BUT WITH FINALS ITS FINE? I think the voices are fine but not ethicly, if they gave us the option to choose our teams name or call out the players with heavy pockets in bank it or any compulsive commentary i would be fine with it too and i would support it.
While I do agree with most of your points, it's worth mentioning that the ai voices used are sourced from the developers and fit the games thematic elements, since its in a simulation. therefore I don't see it as a big deal in this case. besides that great vid!
It dosent matter if it's "fitting" ai isn't good for any part of the industry, hire some voice actors instead of relying on junk or at the very least actually push its uses to the max
Starfield having featureless empty planets was defended as fitting the game's thematic elements too... the fact is a good voice performance would help give the game a ton more character and style of its own
I dont mind the voices . I get that getting replaced by ai sucks but imo it helped the devs release my favorite game faster and saved them some money. Ai is the future just have to accept it adapt and evolve.
I don't know why people are just giving up on the game literally just released. Those who played fortnite since the very beginning will understand that it hardly had anything and it was repetitive. Same with every other games that are free. All I'm saying is just give games a chance before you judge it especially if they're seasons involved. You might be surprised on what's to come next season but Sadly can't say anything about it
Unlike other games,this game has the chance to have multiple crossovers and events without damaging its identity,the one crossover i hope this game gets is with team fortress,just imagine light as scout,medium as medic,sniper or demo,and heavy as the heavy in tf2.
The biggest problem with this game are triple medium team comps. There should be a limit to comps in my opinion restricting each team to only two of one class
this game right now it’s balanced and much better than Apex in every single way but when people will realize it maybe it will be late . Having fun as a solo player , even in rank knocking out cheater is the best feeling.
It has a solid core , but simply too unapproachable for its audience. It pains me to say this, but they'll have to dumb down the game if they want to be successful.
