How the absolute hell do you not get a packed house when you have guys like Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, John Morrison, Carlito, Ricochet, etc. On the card.

Their only true mistake was not actually booking Andy Organ. That would have sold 4 million tickets.

Still blows my mind how much Brock Lesnar looks like Ragnabrock now. I feel like this was less of a scam and more just mismanagement and a lack of trust from UK fans for the promotion to deliver. I remember this promotion a while back, and the game too. It kinda faded for me so I just kinda shrugged and said "probably failed like usual."

May I just say thank you for not only providing amazing content to us but for also providing alternative content. Compared to the other mainstream channels are putting out. You are without a doubt becoming one of my favorite channels to watch. I'm always looking forward to the next video.

Was at one of their shows thought it was ambitious having it in the echo arena and boy was I right had to curtain off like half of the arena got big stars and literally like 500 people there if that I think it was less

I was there for the Dundee show! It dragged on a bit, it being like 5 hours with breaks if I recall, but it was crazy seeing all these great wrestlers in one afternoon!

Also don't forget (even though now he's considered a scumbag), they had Marty Scurll "The Villain" as well. And in 2016, he was a star as well.

I was at the Sheffield Arena show. Purely from the perspective of a fan, it was great. Amazing lineup, solid matches and no queues for anything due to the lack of a crowd.

I remember them running their handful of shows on freesports and seeing how empty the areas they decided to book in were. Zack Gibson was the one shining light they had and a few weeks in he was signed for NXT UK. Their biggest problem was a they were spending way to much on talent and had zero people attending the shows. They were aiming way too high and some how got on TV as a result.

If you misspell a wrestler’s name and they’re not on your show it technically isn’t false advertising unless you show a picture. Pro tip for my carnies

Five star wrestling was actually a small Indy company before the game came out I went to one of their shows in 2012 The game came out had nothing to do with the promotion and then the five star wrestling everybody knows about came out

How the hell do you get 300 people with that lineup. Must have been horribly promoted because i have seen more people turn up for amateur soccer matches

I was there for the Sheffield show. I went specifically for the Rey Mysterio VS AJ Styles event. At the time I had fun at the event, but looking back I suppose the small venue compared to what was available should've been a sign. It's such a shame what it became. If they planned everything our properly, it could've been a trailblazer in the UK wrestling scene. But false promises and mismanagement let it down.

Seems like they had a great roster of talent and were too ambitious but nothing seemed like a scam, the only thing strange to me is that for having so many stars they only got a fraction of the arena capacity in return, was their marketing awful, why did they only have a minimal amount of fans to see some of the best wrestlers in the world, I mean this was AJ Styles final stop before he debuted for WWE at Royal Rumble 2016, he was the hottest free agent in the world at that point, so why weren't there more people in attendance? Were they only allocated a certain amount of tickets by the arena? I assume they must have paid their talent because they had quite a regular roster so in what way was 5 Star Wrestling a scam? Seems like they just got too ambitious and it was around the time that WWE killed the UK indie scene

I bought tickets to one of their house shows in Cardiff where I believe rvd Vs Mysterio was the main card. Months had passed with no info and no tickets and then all of a sudden one day the company just shut down and was gone. No refunds or exploration. Such a shitty business practice.

The Newcastle show I remember seeing the posters and thinking it was one of those little shows with knock offs like "cain" which is a guy in a wwf kane mask.

i went to the dundee show, it was fun but i was only just a kid when it happened, and i didn’t know much about the company, but it was cool seeing rey, drew, aldis etc in person. pretty sure the tickets were cheap too.

Wow only 500 people showed to see these matches. That’s got to be one of the worst bookings I’ve ever seen,and talk about embarrassment to these top tier wrestlers who even came to their promotional company.

I was at that Dundee show it was actually quite good but I was really young like 10 and Dundee doesn’t get a lot of wrestling cause the local promotion of Dundee is terrible

I don't think many of those promotions are intentional scams, but rather guys who don#t know enough about running a business trying to run a wrestling promotion. It sounds like 5 stars wrestling just failed to properly promote their shows because if I heard that there is a wrestling show with all those names on the card close to where I live I would have went there. WES is another example - AoP were pretty inexperienced wrestlers with no management experience at all. I really don't think they wanted to scam the other wrestlers out of getting payed. They just didn't understand the basics of running a wrestling promotion like researching the dates of when you plan on doing a show to make sure your schedule doesn't collide with some minor event like THE QUEENS BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION which was announced for months in england.

A bit ironic, they had just 5 episodes.

Not sure if you have covered them but 1PW (the original) was a huge scam too. But for a while was absolutely massive with crazy dream matches. Then talent stopped getting paid.

The attitude of the promoter of 5 star sucked obviously! I believe the guy was from Dundee. Local fans got in touch with him to try and help promote stuff and his replies were disgusting to be honest. Same night as that Dundee show, a local promotion (which many people are no longer part of) filled Ardler with only local guys and Grado. I did hear (unconfirmed) that the promoter suffered financially after it closed but wouldn't be surprised if true

I remember when they were asking people on IGN about what would make a good wrestling game...aaaaaaaaaaaaand the game was released with a lot of crap and one good thing, damage effected how you wrestled the rest of the match in the game so slamming someone with a bad leg wouldn't work and stuff like that. Also, I recall Mysterio was meant to be DLC....and it never happened either 🤣🤣🤣

Well I know from experience that it's hard just to put one wrestling event on. Not just the egos of the workers (some are sound, but fuck man some were hard to deal with.) Then shifty venue owners, etc. I need content for a new chanel so when your promotion starts up I'll keep an eye on it and if anything goes wrong I'll make a video taking the piss 😉

Another wrestling company that quickly came and went,ala GFW(Global Force Wrestling),as Lucha Underground's problems that caused it to love for only three years were that the people at its main production company didn't know how to handle a wrestling show,they attempted to make Lucha Underground more of a telenovel drama instead of an actual wrestling show(replete with wrestlers being fictionally killed),they didn't do live show event,and they made the heel company boss as its company face instead of one of its top wrestlers. And instead of having Lorenzo Lamas as a fictional character,they should have had the likes of Matt hardy(as his Broken matt persona) and Shane Douglas there as well as Jim Cornette having an angry confrontation with LU company boss Dario Cueto(ala Luis Fernandez Gil[who's actually just an actor]).

Well this one hurt me because I went to the Liverpool event in 2016 and you know what I regret nothing because I get to meet rey mysterio for the first time which will cherish my childhood and the picture of my RU-vid profile you seeing is in that same event I went to helI even met magnus carlito Jay lethal (back when he was the ring of honor championship) and aj styles which I was a dick to aj and carlito but I was young at the time and yet I still own them an apology but it is wired that I found out that this was the first time I watch a will ospreay match and I was in front row at that event so that's fun
