Very nice flying! At $299, I feel it's the perfect time to pick up the 480. Back when the smart super combo could be picked up for $750, it was a steal for what you get. At $1k, there are better options available. The helicopter itself is magnificent. It builds easy and the quality is absolutely on par with the likes of align and xlpower. Mine started off as the stretched smart combo, but now I have Brain2 fbl and HV brushless Torq servos. It's a completely different machine now. I don't regret purchasing the f480 as my first build 3 years ago. At the current sale price of the kit, you can outfit it with a good fbl and servos for same price as the 550x but end up with a much lighter and more agile model. Just my opinion but I'm certain others may feel different. I enjoy your reviews, keep em coming🙂
The good thing is that a lot of the parts are on the new 550 model. So you can still get parts for at least a good while. Same goes for the 480 (550) stretch parts.
if you really want a lot of heli for the money, thunder tiger still sells the e550. for 600 dollars it comes with all the servos, motor, castle 90 esc and carbon blades. the only downside is parts are not available. they are, but they dont ship to the u.s. but they will ship you the raptor 550. i love mine to death
Nice model … I have goblin helicopters and I started with blade 230S , wanted to see this model and how good it flies and I really like it maybe if I find one I might buy it
Not interested at all. Still have a Blade 500x: no spare parts available for years. Lessons learned. Better get a Trex 470 if you want to fly it for more than 2 years. You can get every screw for a Trex even after 10 years.
I own infusion 180 and 230s smart , tell you this blade is ok entry heli how ever . Down the road for parts availability or technical support or just plain tweaking and tuning . Better off with sab align or omp. Any other brand than blade !! You have to stock up on parts while there available cause blade and horizon hobby will leave you stranded with no parts . Blade heli’s feel like glorified toys vs real hobby grade helicopters. To learn sure grab a blade but investment wise look at other brands !!!! Blade is not it !!!
Blade has some good helis, the problem I personally have with blade is the cost to get into their birds. They're too overpriced for what you get, especially if you crash, parts for blade helis are insanely overpriced
Most likely they will drop the price on all the other kits and discontinue the kit only option otherwise why would the draco plane also be on spring sale and many other models that aren't too old yet.

What esc are you running? I have a avion 100 and it wants to shut down sometimes. Not happy with the esc that comes with the kit .and my heli is still a 480 setup
The answer is no. Blade products are over-priced, and are of poor quality. Parts are super expensive, and support stinks. They are the Bose of RC. Ok if the prices weren't so high, but much better quality products are available at lower prices.
I can definitely agree with you to an extent, but I can confidently say that quality is not an issue with the Fusion 480. This isn’t a typical Blade, it’s very comparable to other similar kits. The quality of this kit is on par with Align imo.
Hey, I've got a question about this heli. Have you ever had the belt guide cut into the tail belt? I know what that sounds like but it's got me stumped as to how it keeps slipping off the wheel. It actually slips down across the left side guide wheel and it has caused a little indentation in the belt, not enough to cut the belt through but It will eventually I guess. I have to put it back on the tension guide after every flight. I fell back to the manual setup and there is nowhere I've found that adresses that issue not even an idea of what adjustment may be out. I tightened the belt first so not sure that's it. So if that were happening to you where would you start to look or even adjust. Thanks in advance
Have you figured out the problem yet? I just saw your comment so I apologize for the late response. I have 100’s of flights on my 480 and have never had this issue. I have no clue how or why your belt is slipping out of those rollers, it seems impossible.
I picked up the kit. I was hoping I could fly it on 6s 5000 since i already have 5 of those. I'm not a 3d pilot at all. Just like to scale fly around. Will the 5000 work or would I need the stretch kit to balance it out?
@@mangzrc IF your gonna stretch it some day to a 550 I mean, it takes the 5000 to CG it out. Or at least it does for mine. But yes great heli even not stretched. And the presence in flight is pretty cool too.
