Met the lads in 1982 or maybe 83 at a gig in Sheffield, England. They were fantastic as a band and as people, had a great night with them after the show, they were unknowns in England back then. One of my most treasured memories from back when i had hair and one chin !!. Happy Happy Days.
The Blasters are roof of men who love their music & are skilled craftsmen with their instruments, able to capture & bend a moment, every moment, of making that music & tame it like a bucking bronco. Amazing!
These dudes are bout as old school rock as there is. I first started loving these guys in Streets Of Firemovie. Dave now doin it with Jimmy Dale Gilmore. Very good work, pure roots music. Blasters live on..
I love this song but come on bro, you can't have heard many guitar solos in your life. It's called blues Em pentatonic... The first scale everyone learns.
No, there are 2 kinds of people in the world. There are the ones who put 1080p HD quality videos on you tube and make it so that we bathe in a bath of musical audio pleasure, and there are the others. Thank you for the HD man.
Was at this show, one of the upteem hundred times I've seen them. This was a particularly fun one as Phil was lively with that bottle! Just saw them in Nashville again last week and they're still as on point as they ever were.
Incredible delivery for a really cool song. Can't imagine anyone doing it better or at all. From Dusk till Dawn, what a masterpiece. I had no clue what that movie was about watching it for the first time. Made it something I will never forget.
Saw these guys at Muddy Roots Festival in Cookeville, TN a few days ago. Damn, they totally RAWKED!! I have newfound respect for them. Back in love with The Blasters!!
This is what it is all about, this cool guy with an awesome voice and its look so easy like he is buying a pack of cigarrettes on a normal tuesday. Outstanding!
Thank you so much for this video. I have been a fan of this band for a long time. It's nice to see them up close and live. I wish I could have been there. They Sound great.
Hot air hangs like a dead man From a white oak tree People sitting on porches Thinking how things used to be Dark night Dark night The neighborhood was changing Strangers moving in A new boy fell for a local girl When she made eyes at him She was young and pretty No stranger to other men But doors were being locked at night Old lines were drawn again [Chorus] I thought things like that Didn't matter anymore I thought all the blood Had been shed long ago Dark night Dark night He took her to the outskirts And pledged his love to her They thought it was their secret But someone knew where they were He held her so close He asked about her dreams There was a shot from a passing car And the young girl screamed
Was at this show. They were well worth the long wait after having to get through three really lousy local bands. The Blasters have aged like fine whiskey and still can heat up a crowd. Too bad the venue sucked, they deserved better!
It's a bit petty to shit all over the bands you weren't there to see. I'm sure other people were stoked to see those bands and left when The Blasters came out.
Funny enough, 12 years later on March 17 2023, I first watched From Dusk Till Dawn. I remember one of my dad's friends came to visit us and he asked me if I was watching The Walking Dead on the TV, lol.
This, my friends....is fuckin' MUSIC! All you shitheads of my young Facebook/Twitter generation take fuckin' note. This is how you rip it on stage. Long live Blasters old and new.
I saw The Blasters live in 1985 They were the opening band for headliner ,The Kinks which were performed at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. Awesome show.
I can say I saw The Blasters in Toronto at the El Mocambo,I've always thought they were the best live band I ever saw. That would be somewhere around 1985,been awhile.
