The Blessing of the Sabbath

Praise Yah that He has put it on your heart to keep the Sabbath! I can only imagine how challenging that must be in your current situation. But good for you that are wanting to be obedient. First off, remember that it was never expected for new believers know how to perfectly keep the law, it is a process of learning and growing gradually. The primary purpose of the Sabbath is rest. You should not do any work associated with your professional job, and you should not cause anyone to work for you either. Preparing food on Friday is a great idea that many people do. In fact, in the Bible the day before a Sabbath is often referred to as "Preparation Day." There are several different ways people have interpreted the commandment regarding no fire on the Sabbath. 119 Ministries is a great channel for teaching about all aspects of following Torah. Study and practice obedience as best you can and don't worry about being perfect. We are all going to make mistakes and that is when the blessing of grace comes in. Perhaps your example of obedience will provoke curiosity in your family and inspire them to follow you as you follow Yeshua!
