The Blinker Genie is the perfect solution to adding a marker light to your existing turn signal setup. I've heard of people using these for trailers as well so you can have a running light and turn signal. I'm sure there are lots of applications for this type of device, and THIS is how I utilized it on my vehicle.
I bought this pair on eBay, there were a couple of sellers. This isn't sponsored, I just wanted to get a video out there because information was scarce on this product!

what you can do is hook the power for the side marker to the running light power circuit and ground for the side market to the power circuit for the turn signal. its how a lot of cars are set up from the manufacture. however, it doesn't work with LEDs.

I need this for a turn signal/marker light. But the some of the reviews on amazon claim when the marker lights are on the blinker works, but when the marker lights are off the blinker doesn’t work. Do you know if it will blink when the marker lights are off?

It works as a turn signal when there are no markers on. The yellow wire is the genie and it will get power from either the markers OR turn signal. When both have voltage it signals the yellow wire loses power. If that makes sense. I’ve been using it as shown in the video and the turn signal works fine without the markers on.

Why didn't they set it up to dim the light? I could build a circuit to do this in a few minutes. I could do it really easy with (basically) a pair of resistors and a few diodes. Then you could have a light that can be off/on/dim like factory. Probably cost about $2. Could even be crazy and make a PWM controller and switch in a resistor to change the PWM duty cycle, effectively dimming the light. This circuit might cost $4... Seeing how simple this is, I am shocked someone has yet to do it. If anyone is good at marketing, hit me up. Let's make a better version of these.

EDIT: Was just thinking (if anyone tries this) make sure to match (the LED) impedence of the resistive bulb so the car knows there is a bulb. If you get a fast Blink or the car says there's a problem then it's probably because the LED is using less current than the bulb did. Adding a load resistor should fix that.

You do not need the genie 2 to do this 🤦🏻‍♂️, how do you make is so that they blink together tho

Yes you do need blinker genie 2 to do this, otherwise the leds won’t work

@@juliet4093 This thing looks like it just works. and that's it. No thought on anything... I could do so much better. Market it for me bro and I'll make it however you want it to be. I can make as many variations as you need till it's perfect. This really is just a couple of CHEAP components. It would cost me more to mail 5 varients than it would to make them, cases and all.
