So we have the 2 Gamorrean Guards, the Power Ranger Cyberpunk scooter gang, Fennec Shand (the ageless Ming Na Wen), BK (the wookie), Danny Trejo the Rancor Handler and Boba Fett riding that Rancor....GETTING THE BAND TOGETHER THE STAR WARS WAY lol He also might have some surviving Tusken Tribal Warriors...
Yeah they're Swoops. Speeder bikes are usually shown to have forward vanes, or in general sleeker. The biggest difference is BARC speeder bikes, which were essentially just speeder bikes on steroids with more weapons, armor, and the bridge to a combat landspeeder. The Nikto Sandriders have more Speeder Bike rides. A Swoop is a Harley, a speeder bike is a more military "space motorcycle".
@@tonyjackson4078 I've always though of swoops as Harleys and speeder bikes as much dirtier Kawasakis, whereas Imperial speeder bikes were like militarized Ducatis. The cybergang bikes seem like polished Harleys with Vespa designs. So, are they swoops? Sure, I guess. But these "youths" prefer style over substance, IMO. Nothing inherently wrong with that. Vibrant colours are a natural act of rebellion on The Great Tan & Brown Planet. Primary colours are the new black. Nonetheless, I'm not entirely sure Swoop is the right term for their rides because that term carries a certain connotation of burliness in my mind. But, who am I to say?
@@AngeloBarovierSD there's S Swoops and variants, they are high speed machines because they get modded a lot, I imagine this gang was "going slow" because they were chasing a luxury speeder. In many scenes from ANH landspeeders slow down dramatically in civilian areas. They are used to get to far locations quick.
@@tonyjackson4078 While that all sounds logical, I wasn't really concerned with the speed of the chase (but I'll hit on that after). I just find the design very different from any speeder or swoop bike design we've seen. Obviously that was the intent but it makes classification trickier. Before the proliferation of SW screen media, we used to use rider position to help distinguish between the two when the classification was unclear. If the default position is leaning forward, then it's a speeder bike. If the default position is upright, then it's a swoop. Also, the classic Harley heft was another indication. These, however, seem to fall into a subcategory. I look at them as mini-swoops. More compact and less rugged, built for city living. I'd love to see some BTS of the creative design process. As for the speed of the chase, I think the issue people have is fueled by the impression the riders are young people who lead dangerous lives but ride pretty "baby swoops", with an aesthetic that's more FAST AND FURIOUS and less BORN TO BE WILD. On a more technical cinematic level, their swoops are never shown "fully-open" in the chase. So, we don't really get a sense that they're holding back solely due to close quarters or a sluggish target. More of a staging problem than a lore issue. Ultimately, the chase felt sluggish and could've used a more Jason Bourne approach in its urban setting. (Though that one low-angle shot of the crew leader looking down at the majordomo was gorgeous!)
@@AngeloBarovierSD DEFINITELY modded. Almost like the concept Speeder Bike that was a chair with engines for RotJ. Make no mistake the chase was slow in many parts, I'm not trying to excuse it as much as thinking "it had to be a choice, but why". Honestly the most logical non ín story explanation is those were practical props in many shots and they didn't want to damage them too much. Yes, the chase was "slow" in many respects, I cannot argue that.
The Wookie "Black Krrsantan" was previously introduced in the STAR WARS and DOC APRHA comics from Marvel a few years ago. A former gladiator (hence the reference) turned bounty hunter.
That was a pretty small pile of Tusken corpses. I'm hopeful that some of Boba's tribe escaped or were away at the time. I feel like if the female warrior and the child were present, we would have been shown their corpses as well, to twist the knife further.
@Tony Jackson: Right, that's the name of the creature he rode in the cartoon. They also mentioned Life Day in the first episode of The Mandalorian, so the Holiday Special is officially canon.
@@christianforsstrom2222 "kids"...will be kids. Maybe they're workers from Curoscant... stranded here on Tatoinne... reaching, yes, but I love this direction so much, lttle stuff like that can be the "artistic" stuff RR puts in... spy kids look.. I forgive cos I can't wait for the next epi!
@@christianforsstrom2222 well, everything on Tattoine is dirty, drab, and dark. It's a reach, I know, but to me it makes sense that they rebel against that by being bright colored and clean. It was ok for me, but I also get the criticism.
Lol Charles Boyle's dad and Rosa Diaz's dad showing up in this episode nice haha Nooooo the village 😭😭😭 Dude these cyborg peeps are OP and that girl with the blue bike is making me go 😍😍😍 Uh oh Krrsantan made it in... Lmao the Hutts are basically saying "yo my bad, we sent him to kill you but check this out, turns out this ain't even our turf no more, so we gonna head out, you might wanna do that too" A freaking RANCOR let's goooooo Wow this majordomo guy is gutsy I'll give him that... but why he gotta crash through everything in town tho I didn't even get the "keep an eye on him" punchline until Boba realized it 😂
We didn't see the female tusken's body or the kid's body so I have to pull the "If I don't see the body they're not dead" card until otherwise. Let me have hope the kid somehow survived 😭❤💔
The Bike colors are too loud . ....Should be uniformed colors.......but they are great. Also I believe the Pikes are responsible for the Tusken cam o attack.......they knew who he was and the Tusken who attacked them.
If you had told me, way back in 1977 when I first saw the Sand People, and heard about how violent they were, that I would one day be mourning their deaths, I would have said you were crazy. That sort of monastic chant sung during the funeral pyre was "Aliit Ori'shya Al'Din", which is the Mando'a language for "Family Is More Than Just Blood".
Who else is excited about seeing Boba use his jet pack to get into position to ride the rancor. The hutt's are carried while making visits and Boba will be riding a Rancor. Which one is more impressive and scary? Also, Boba looked and interacted with the rancor like I do with every dog that I met and greet....lol
Magnificent reaction. I guess my responders about the tuskens joining bobba were not part of the plan. I did expect something like this but not like this. The pikes are strong but your review on bobba gaining respect will definitely be shown when he defeats the pikes. But he needs to plan out a way to flank them and force them to surrender. Make them an example of any cross him again. I do still wonder how he will recruit real warriors in his ranks.
This felt like a step back after a fantastic chapter 2 but I don’t think it’s as horrible as some viewers think. The highlights for me were Black Krrasantan (fantastic job translating his savagery from comic books to television) and Danny Trejo being a RANCOR TRAINER! I’m not sure what to think of the teenage cyberpunk bikers yet although I like their droid enhancements. The weakest part to me was killing the Tuskens off screen without proper buildup. It was something I saw coming but I just don’t think enough time was spent on it
First, Danny Trejo in a walk on role. How To Train Your Sarlacc... looked a bit like Toothless in the eyes. Plus the girl rider looks like a younger, Goth version of Robin from How I Met Your Mother.
3:07 this is a reflection of why "tagging" your victims' property is a bad idea. Someone who cares, sees that tag... They have someone to blame. If they are a borderline ruthless murderous monstrosity... Not good for you. Your tag is your brand. Anything it's attached to assigns responsibility to you. Low speed chase through Mos Espa... A little disappointing. Personally, I'm not big on the "scooter gang" though at least they had the guts to back their boss against a wookie. And I think the common term for them is "mods" or "modders" as they modify their bodies with droid parts. But I could be completely misremembering where I got that term. So, Sesska... How often have your bacta tank flashback dream sequences been interrupted by a wookie? I've never been in a bacta tank. And I've never met a wookie. Many, I will not say most, as I have not polled the fandom, will often shorten the wookie's name to "Black K" [And I will be honest, since I haven't followed much outside some technical manuals, the tabletop role playing game, and the movies, I am very unfamiliar with him] Danny Trejo, this man is always a win to bring into your series. This series involves Danny Trejo and Ming-Na Wen in the same _scene_ ? And it's set it in the Star Wars galaxy? [Looking around: "Where are those pearly gates?"]
I have thought about it, the power ranger squad and the Jetsons bicycles are the same design aesthetic as Solo. and I didn’t like that part, or the part that took me back into TLJ. the BK fight felt like the lightsaber over the shoulder again just rushed and not really any emotional gravitas! But Doug Chiang being involved makes me think they are playing heavy on the design aesthetic between Solo and bringing Han back with Leia and Luke for TBOBF and if that’s what it is, I’m here for it! 🤙 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uYK1OXlm7Us.html
That the Wookie got off pretty "light" without causing too much damage kinda makes me think he'll be back. And that we didn't see the female Tusken warrior among the bodies when she was so front and center during the last episode makes me think she'll be back too. But I think this episode seemed to try to accomplish a bit too much without letting certain scenes "breath" with the audience. However it looks like the Tusken storyline seems to be coming to a close, so this series should become a lot more focused probably around episode 5 and onward.
Wow so I was just thinking this video might be dropped around now so I can watch it. And lo and behold I finish my thought and there is the notification. Thank you
Boba life is a really hard life. When healing, he relive the painful memories of what taken from him in the past, his home of Kamino that he only able to watch his father leaving, the death of his father, the lost of his armor, the lost of his new family/tribe. Then when he wake up, he have to deal with the threat on his life. And I would like to say that working as the mayor secretary suck so bad, the mayor send you everywhere risking your life and when the time come, he have no bodyguard, just get left behind like that.
The four new characters are awesome. Since this is a Robert Rodriquez piece, its fitting to see cybernetics in this. They looked like they could have come from the awesome movie Alita Battle Angel; which by the way is also a Robert Rodriquez piece. The success of Boba is going to green light our beloved Cybergirl.
It was a bad episode. How did Black Krrasantan get into the palace? It should have already been on lockdown after Boba was attacked previously. He's a HUGE wookie. How did nobody see him? Additionally, if he was sent to kill Boba and not just rough him up, where was the big gun he had with him? The high speed "chase" was ridiculous.
The palace was the home to a Hutt. I am sure there would be a emergency exit for Jabba to escape from the place, which would be more than big enough for a Wookiee to get in through. The Twins likely visited their cousin before, so they would know about stuff like that.
@@Rocket1377 So there's NOBODY in the room when Boba is healing in the bacta pod where he would be at his most vulnerable, to guard him? Seriously? There no explanation or excuse for it. It's terrible writing. It either means Boba's people are stupid/incompetent or we the audience are stupid enough to believe that it could actually happen. It's like episode 1: 1. Boba accepts payment in his helmet which means he can't put it on. A sniper could easily pick him off. 2. The Gammoreans are right behind Boba and Fennec when they leave Garsa's sanctuary but then disappear when the Night Wind assassins attack. 3. Boba is surrounded but doesn't use his jetpack to get out of the situation. And so on and so forth. I could go on. The show is a list of idiotic, illogical and inconsistent mistakes.
I'm so worried about the future of this show. Boba is getting so dull. Fennec is acting like his secretary. Why did he let Black Krrsantan go? Recruit him! The twins Hutts was such an interesting addition and now they're gone? What about those power rangers/spy kids? Filoni, where are you???
So fun fact. The female leader of the Vespa riders her name is Arden Lynn and she first appeared in a star wars fighting game for the Playstation 1 back in the early 90s
@Ulfang999 but if you look the character drash dosnt appear in any star wars lore. Drash isn't even on wookipedia so I'm assuming it's a nickname of sorts and Arden Lyn is her real name.
So this episode was absolutely awful. From Boba the passive ruler, to the “we’re out of here” twins to the Cyberpunk Spy Kids to BK being absolutely wasted to the Tuskens being killed off unceremoniously for absolutely no reason to the dullest car chase in history… I genuinely can’t think of anything I liked about it. I would say I liked the rancor scene but what evolutionary process gave rancors the ability to imprint on a random alien species? That’s so stupid. Here’s hoping Rodriguez never gets another directing role cos he clearly doesn’t mesh with Star Wars at all.
So the scooter gang are based off the British youth subculture of the 1960's, The Mods. They wore tailored suits or fashionable outfits and rode colorful, elaborately modified Vespa or Lambretta scooters. In addition, the cyborgs have literally modified themselves, making them even more "Mod".
