FC Bayern Munich is without doubt one of the most successful clubs in Europe. Such a club has of course also a large fan community. But are Bayern fans only glory hunters? Are they only fans because Bayern is successful? Our reporter Tom Gennoy gets to the bottom of this. He went to Munich and spoke directly to fans. Do you think Bayern fans are just glory hunters? Write us a comment.

My partner's Croatian & taken me to a few Hajduk games, not huge crowds but nothing in England compares to the atmosphere. Before Covid we watched a few games around Europe, the Genoa Sampdoria derby was awesome & Parc des Princes isn't like it was in the 90's but still PSG have crazy fans as do St. Etienne & we hope to visit Marseille next year - sadly they all better than any in the UK. Feyenoord fans are more like English style, or rather like it used to be in the 70/80's. The rivalry seems to go in cycles. In the 70’s it was Monchengladbach challenging for major honours? Once it was Weder Bremen, Hamburg, Cologne and Dortmund. Bayern will use their financial muscle to buy their rivals best players if they start losing money and league positions. It’s also kinda sickening that other teams don’t really compete. Dortmund at least try to take the fight to them. Seems that people are scared of Bayern.

Bayern's dominance destroyed the german football
@Monaleenian
@Monaleenian 2 года назад
It's not Bayern's dominance that destroyed it. It's the inevitable end result of the 50+1 rule. Bayern just happens to be the team who were able to capitalise on some early advantages decades ago and have used that to entrench their position. It was inevitable that one team would rise to the top and stay there permanently. The question now is: how long will German football fans put up with this? Will they be happy to see Bayern win at least 7 or 8 league titles every decade for the next few hundred years? Or will they say enough is enough at some point? We wait and see.

Stop poaching the best players from other German clubs then year after year, if Bayern truly want a competitive league. Don't always try to weaken your biggest competitor. Easier said than done for them.

I agree. If they bought players from England/Spain/France/Italy instead; then it would help the Bundesliga in TV rights and in the end Bayern would benefit from getting more competition and thus more viewers and a better TV rights deal which would help all German clubs financially.
@MadFake9939

Stop it xD I admit there was a time they bought player just to weaken the other. But these days they always buy people that have the potential to help them and make them better. And yes they buy from clubs who are in the Bundesliga (like every other club) But lets face it if Bayern wouldnt buy them they would leave the Bundesliga because a english or a spanish team would pay enough
@lps2013
@lps2013 6 лет назад
More then 40% off the top 100 transfers off Bundesliga players where to the prem. The problem is that the teams are not nearly as rich as in other top leagues because they don't have some rich owner. It is very lazy to blame Bayern for the fact that a lot off players want to leave their club at some point when they can earn some more money somewhere else. BTW they even loaned money to Dortmund back in 2005 so that they could still afford to pay their players and not go bankrupt
@martinshishkovski9729
@martinshishkovski9729 5 лет назад
Actually Bayern is not the club with the most transfers from their league. It isn't even in top 10. For the last 10 years clubs like Dortmund, Barcelona, Liverpool, Man United ect have bought more players from rivals than Bayern. However, everyone blames Bayern for weakening Bundesliga.

Would be interesting if Bayern make it a policy not to buy any players from teams that finish in the top 6 of the Bundesliga, maybe try it out for the next 5 seasons and see if they can maintain their success. It's awful that the only way they could beat Klopp's Dortmund was to buy all of their key players.

Bayern is not a charity, they did loan money to Dortmund of course in 2005 so they could keep paying their players wages but other then that why would bayern not be allowed to buy players from their own league, like literally every single club does ? Dortmund as an example have bought 10 Bundesliga players in the last 2 or 3 years alone. The only difference is that bayern has become one off the best best clubs in the world through good management innovative ideas and having the luck or skill to have had some off the best german players off all time to have come form their youth system. Like in 2012 in the final there were 4 players from the youth setup in the startring 11 with Schweini, Lahm, Alaba and Muller and Badstuber and Kroos were injured but they would have played otherwise. The difference with the other leagues is that the clubs don't have some rich owner that invests tons off money in the club. It is a very lazy argument to just blame Bayern for the fact that loads off good players leave their club to play somewhere else where they can earn more money.
@muratti72muc
@muratti72muc 5 лет назад
what an bullshit. Bayern buys players and Dortmund must sell players. If Dortmund sell them to Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal or Bayern makes no different. Same where Bayern buys there new players. If Lewy goes to Real or Bayern makes no different for Dortmund. Players with this level are to expensive to hold for smaller Clubs. Bayern have financial no competitor in Germany.
