They worked together for years, they had a very obvious friendship in the bagel scene. MM shaved his beard too. She met with the victims to get The Boys to follow her to the convention. She isn't "obsessed with racial stuff" she is just being honest. The idea of a black woman being smarter than a white guy pisses some people off, and we know homelander is somewhat racist based on all the stuff he said to Alex in season 3. Plus she mentioned the racist costume Vought would make her wear and we know how much Vought uses people's identities as marketing even against their will (maeve) and even force specific costumes (starlight). And we see that her actual costume is african inspired in the end, so she was right. Also, as for the bats, it needed to be something that left a physical imprint, and guns would also be too noisy (if nobody heard a gun at the riot, it would be difficult to believe that gunshots killed them). Some of this stuff is subtext based on previous scenes, not stuff that should have to be spelled out.

Also, your comment history i can see seems to be all somewhat negative or questioning certain writing decisions, so i take it you're the type of person to automatically read into the text a whole bunch then ask questions without doing research first

Makes no sense. Haha yes she keeps making weird comments about race that don't make sense. I even researched the adjective mouthy since I'm not a native English speaker and just in case I was ignorant but there's nothing. She has mentioned race 4 times in 3 episodes, seems very forced and a smart character shouldn't say dumb things like that.

youre right, it felt off to me too. I think it has to do with the literal editing, it seems really.... choppy moments? The scene with mini-neuman and the boys seemed really clunkily edited tbh. That and the really on-the-nose meme references, frenchies line about Todd having Pete Davidson energy made me roll my eyes.
