Every 'Deep' scene, has me dying laughing. Guy is a great comedic actor.

I remember seeing Erin Moriarty first in season one of Jessica Jones. I hope she gets more work, shes a great actor. Plus she is gorgeous.

The way this season started out so far, might earn them an Emmy nomination

I wonder if they are going to go the same route as the comics with Black Noir. I don't want to spoil it but I think there are some hints in this episode leaning that way.

On Stormfront: I've only watched this first episode but it seems like her name isn't a coincidence. Stormfront is a prominent Neo Nazi internet forum and she very specifically said she was from Portland, Oregon. The thickest area of white supremacist/neo nazi groups in the country. Is she going to turn into a Ben Shapiro type? Edit: Episode 3 SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS Yeah. After watching Episode 3 it's not exactly subtle (I already got it when she started murdering innocent black people, did she have to call the guy a yellow bastard?) but Stormfront a massive racist. I'm not sure how I feel about the first real strong feminine character being a militant racist, but here we are.

Would you guys consider doing a more in depth review of the first season to compliment your episodic reviews of season 2? I really enjoyed that "looking back" feel from the re-reviews you guys did of the first five seasons of GOT.

If you read the comics you'll see they have enough material to keep going for many more seasons. I hope they keep Black Noir's background actions from the comics and his big secret. He's such a nothing character in the series so far. I'm worried that even with the extremes they've managed to show on TV, the Black Noir storyline will be too much.

Granted I don't know the actual comics' history, but especially given the total shock, freak way that Brian came to be a supe that none of them ever expected possible, I'm wondering if just because Homelander's the father, that wouldn't necessarily guarantee Brian would have ALL the same capabilities? (once more honed of course). And this could make things all the more complicated for that relationship. Especially if it winds up a couple different powers don't cross over, HL could think of him as disgusting and an inferior blight, no longer worth his guidance. So we know he's sporting the laser heat eyes and super strength, but what if he couldn't actually fly? and btw the girl they got to play the one role of the Vaught middle management, blanking on her name but she was now into Sitwell's office this season, she is friggin perfect for it. Her only other work I know is from the first season of Jessica Jones (which also featured Annie/Starlight) on Netflix and the behavior and the attitude in that girl was extremely similar, just that in JJ the character was much less corporate refined, more hippie-ish.

As soon as I watched it I had to come check if you'd done a review. These vids really add to the excitement of watching the new season

Love that the show is all about believable damaged people on both sides (as opposed to the outright monsters most of the heroes are in the comics) the difference being that the boys are trying to lean on and trust each other for relief while the seven are trying to use and hurt each other for relief (homelander in the comics would never care about a son making him feel less alone, and Billy would've never sacrificed his mission to go back for huey)

To me theres a significant tone change in directing, I dont hate it, it matches the comics more imho, but it just itsnt what made me love the first season. Everything seems more...dry or lacking energy. The action scenes are still dynamic, idk, im still hopeful for the rest of the season though. These first three episodes are just a little off for me.

Spoiler warning: judging from the twist at the end of the comic, I think it was the biggest copout of the series. And I hope they ignore Black Noir to give Homelander the spotlight but idk. Also I like how Homelander gets put in his place by Stan Edgar but in the comics it was stillwell. But she died at the end of the first season

They upped the gore factor to the point where it's becoming gratuitous. Season 1 had some very gruesome scenes (Robin's death, Popclaw crushing that guy's skull) but it served a plot purpose.
