Elmer Barnes gets scared when he sees a bear while he's fishing. The Marshal comes and finds him in a tree. Then, Elmer takes the Marshals horse and rides back into town, leaving the Marshal stranded. News comes to Dry Gulch that there's a killer on their way to get Bill Gunter once and for all.
