A gunslinger, Dan Barrett, comes to Dry Gulch and cheats Miss Trudy Lou out of a dollar. Nicodemus gets upset about it and threatens to have a showdown with him. As Nic is practicing his quick draw, Elmer is getting fed up with T.W. Tutwater's insults and punches him, causing him to get arrested.
