Now that you mention the mamuta, i think deserves it's own video, its a very very weird enemy. I have a theory about them. Since pikmin have such a peculiar immediate obedience to olimar and other leaders without having ever even seen them, to me that suggests that its deeprooted in their nature to take orders from and obey to things. I think the mamutas are some sort of natural indigenous "leader" to the pikmin that would cultivate them and use their aid before olimar came around to the planet. The markings on their arms looking similar to the markings on the onions also implies some sort of connection between the two. Theres probably a lot of holes in this, but its fun to think about.
I love the breadbugs in Pikmin 4, the fact that they have a squeaky version of the giant breadbug theme makes them much cuter and that theyrun around in panic when hit makes you feel bad for them.
The giant Breadbug in 4 is cool because there are more than 2 ways of killing it, where you can throw yellows on top, drag it with purples or Oatchi, or throw other Pikmin on top by dragging then throwing Pikmin while it is being dragged
As a kid I never knew the bread bug’s name. I just called it Mr. Stealer because it kept stealing what I was trying to get. I only realized now that he went all over the map. I thought all those years he just came over to steal my things.
Fun fact: there’s another way to kill a giant breadbug, and that’s if you manage to land 10 yellow Pikmin on top of it, they’ll squash it like a paper bag Great vid btw 👍
My brother was bored one day, so he printed out an army of breadbugs (big and small), and taped them to various places inside our house. We have not taken them down. They have been there for weeks. He also printed out a BUNCH of Pikmin (all the types). One of which is a rock pikmin taped to the outside of the front door. And two are inside of our fridge.
Apparently some Dwarf Bulborbs such as the regular Dwarf Bulborb are actually not Grub Dogs but actually Breadbugs, though they co-exist peacefully with the actual bulborbs, though some people count any of the Dwarfs as Breadbugs like the dwarf Fire Bulblax which is a different type of Grub Dog and like the Crumbug, also only appears in Hey Pikmin
I love them because of their fun mechanic of having to “compete” with them, and that they generally do not hurt your Pikmin. It is a nice departure from the typical creatures.
I wish they’d add a mechanic similar to taming lizards in rain world, where you could give pellet poseys to breadbugs and if you explored that area at another time they would lead you to treasures or help carry it back with you
They were a fun gimmick in pikmin 2. Still fun in 4, but i remember rushing around to try and get all the treasure and having to revisit the cave a couple times to get it all.
Have your character laydown right under the hocotate ship with the giant bread bug to pick you up so it can take damage without the use of pikmin.....WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
The breadbug is god’s perfect creation. The only changes undergone by it throughout the years are an increase in polygon count to allow them to finally be viewed in pikmin 4 as god intended, in all their high definition glory.
Why does nobody point out that the screams they make when they plop around peak the microphone? These guys were doing earrape before earrape was mainstream.
