I would enjoy more videos. I like watching old stuff becoming new again. I feel like it's a way of living on vicariously through the machines we fix. Maybe that's the gummys talking.LOL
Cant wait to see it finished. It's the actual painting that is the easy part, it's all the hard work getting to that point that isn't. I watch this one hot rod channel, where the fellow bought a machine that fires a laser out of a gun and he used it to clean rust and debris off of a machine that was in a sad state. I was skeptical of whether it would work, but it sure beat sanding and a needle scaler.
I used that paint B 4 I retired, at work, and I liked the results very much, if something like my dolly got shuffled up I just sprayed over that area and it blended right in, but after three of four coats in an area, a hard bump would knock a chip out of all of the layers the paint down to bare metal. I think reuploading some older videos is a great idea! 👍👍 DRO Pros makes some great DROs I think you're going to like it. I have a 3 axis dro on the mill and the lathe I run at work for around 6 months now and they're great. I'm actually thinking about picking a couple up for the machines I have at home to replace the clapped out grizzly ones I have.

Hey, I am just like you two, just a bit cranky and set in my ways. Love it when neighbors and friends get together to help one another. Going to have to try out that hard hat paint someday. Last machine i painted was my shaper, rustoleum smoke grey to match my lathe. Next projects are a camel back drill press and a baby planer, Don size, 36"? Both old, leaning towards stove black, maybe i should use paint. Ha. Glad you are back in shop. Used to keep my mill at work all rubbed down and shiney. Anymore i don't neglect it too much, base needs good cleaning, getting harder to bend that low. Hey, when you actually remember to pull that oiler handle Bridgeport or clones, i run a Sharpe, do dribble oil.
Putting out the the old videos is a piece of cake.... RU-vid really only promotes a video for two days and then it's on to something else so tons of people never see the old stuff... Thanks for watching...

Vault is a great idea, just a suggestion, why don’t you invest in a spray gun, you’ve got the compressor, they make a better job and cheaper in the long run, rattle cans can be quite expensive,
No, that's a part of the project. A side project is where you have to fabricate or do a different project to finish the original project, like making the beveled straightedge is a side project.
