The BRUTAL Execution Of Thomas Seymour

The Seymour Family during the Tudor period were incredible influential. Jane Seymour became Henry VIII's third wife, and would later be the wife who would give him the son he quested after, Edward VI. Her brother's were incredible important too, Thomas and Edward. It is this sibling rivalry that led to the death of one of these influential Tudor politicians and brothers.
Thomas Seymour was incredibly jealous following the death of Henry VIII, that his brother Edward had been named Lord Protector of England and was basically ruling England as Edward VI the boy king was too young to rule. He became obsessed with the fact his brother was basically acting as King, and he began to plot against him. Thomas to further his position also married Henry VIII's sixth wife Catherine Parr, a move which many deemed to be too soon after Henry's death.
Following Catherine's death, his attention turned to her daughter in-law Elizabeth, however Thomas became beside himself with jealousy. One night he was caught breaking into Edward VI's household, and was caught with a loaded pistol after he had shot one of the King's dogs. It was assumed that Thomas planned to kidnap the young King and take him under his custody. He was then imprisoned in the Tower of London, and was sentenced to death having being accused of 33 counts crimes. His own brother Edward Seymour even signed his death warrant.
Thomas Seymour was executed on Tower Hill in front of a huge crowd by a blundering axe-man. So join us today as we look at 'The BRUTAL Execution Of Thomas Seymour.'

He & Catherine Parr we’re actually in love & planning to marry when her current husband died. (He was already on his deathbed) Henry apparently first noticed her at court with Seymour both of them being flirtatious & that’s probably part of the reason Henry wanted her! I watched a documentary years ago they also believed he’d actually tried to touch young Elizabeth inappropriately while she was sleeping. Sleezy Seymour

Although no dowager Queen at that time, Parr was a wealthy widow, Seymour was probably gold digging back then also.

It is well-known that he would come into Elizabeth’s chambers while she lay sleeping and would tickle her awake, this, I think when she was the age of 14, 15. She tried very hard to be up and dressed of a morning if she knew he was about. There was also one instance when Seymour and Parr cornered her and Parr held her while Seymour practically cut her dress to ribbons with his sword. They allowed her to run away, but they both thought it hilariously funny...

Elizabeth wrote on the outside of the letter, in Latin, “Thou, touch me not”, then deleted it, and wrote instead, “Let him not touch me” - suggesting his advances were unwanted, but that she feared to speak too directly to him about it.

@Phil Edward Seymour was known to be a very cold snake, and never showed any signs of affection or love for his wife or his own children. He was also greedy, and when Henry VIII died in 1547 Edward was only 9 years old which allowed him to become lord protector and never gave his nephew an allowance to spend for clothes or jewelry, Edward squandered all the money that was left to Edward to split between him and his half sisters..when Edward turned 15 and was allowed to sit on his father's throne he found out from his father's remaining council that Edward Seymour had spent most of the money his father had set aside on troops, new homes and clothes.

Yes, to the 21st century person being beheaded is quite the horrific punishment not to mention the concept of capitol punishment is debated.
