Muskeln-kaufen.de oh shush, he does it because 100% of the people in IFBB does it, and it’s part of the job. They do it responsibly, they’re not abusing it and dying. The ones that do abuse it, aren’t the pros. If you have an attitude like that, judge people for drinking coffee. Caffeine’s a drug as well.
Great Video! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you tried - Chireetler Deepest Relaxation Rule (do a search on google)? It is an awesome exclusive product for learning to grow muscle fast minus the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate finally got amazing success with it.
Agreed. Cooking with Evan was a solid ass series and he cooked healthy af too. Talked about fiber, magnesium, turmeric, other herbs and combining with meat and food for taste and health.
Even is a not a bodybuilding teacher. HES A LIFE COACH. This man could teach a fish to bench press, make it wanna grow a garden, and build a house. I love you man...
Glad you pointed this out Anthony. I lost my dad when I was 2, never knew him. I have a 24 year old son, that would never have broke down like that. I've always been here for him. The way Evan was emotional, you would have thought his dad died, I'm so thankful that isn't the case and that Evan has that appreciation for his dad. It's awesome!
When he says “maybe I take that for granted” it hit me hard. I know exactly what he means. I’ve never seen him this vulnerable. I can relate. My father battled cancer for two years until he succumbed to his illness. This made me choke a bit. Such a wholesome story. Keep thriving Evan.
Unvek Oak it’s always humbling. Larger than life but he’s still human, he’s not afraid of his emotions. He’s not a hardcore meathead... he’s just a guy who gets along with his dad and lifts weights. The Animal and Universal guys are like that. Humble and real.
My dad passed away suddenly with brain cancer and lung cancer. He wasn't being honest with his doctor and hid it well. It's hard now hearing anyone speak on similar situations.
I’ve met guys like Evan’s dad. Those are the blue collar work horses who had trade skills in addition to smarts that made it easy for the next generations. Not many left.
I still dont get why nowadays blue collar are not paid so well over white collar. Blue collar has the most time consuming and physically intensive work. White collar had it easy and comfy and they get paid well? Why is society's reward system like that? I work in white collar environment btw.
Come to Australia boys - tradespeople earn around $70-150,000 a year. A high paying job and becoming increasingly higher in demand each year, it’s insane
20:33 He cried just because his father always has his back!! damn I got emotional , following you since 2009 New York Pro show, brother you have inspired me since then!
@Tony Soza I've been a machinist for just over 1 year now and Im liking it. I came from a background of working outside and although it may be tedious at times it's very rewarding in terms of creating things.
That's what a father does, instills lifelong values which build character and can be passed down to the next generation. It's vulnerable moments such as these, that one can peek into a mans soul and see his true heart. We need more Evan Centopanis in the world.
WOW Evan you almost made me cry when you reached the point of talking about how your dad plays his part in supporting your goals and efforts and in life in general.... AGAIN WOW!!!!! THAT IS REALLY SPECIAL and worthy of more than a few tears... wish I had that.
I remember when Evan won the Eastern USAs in NY way back when, not sure what year that was but his whole family was cheering him on, he was just so damn BIG and complete . I was competing in that show as a lightweight and met him a few months later at The Nationals, he was working with Dave Palumbo at that time, as was i . Such a genuine and overall nice guy. Wish he would wear some safety glasses though, I’ve seen many guys get a sliver of metal in there eyes during my years in construction ... God Bless, always great having Dad & son moments 🙏👍....enjoy your home gym
*WOW. I really needed to watch this. I used to be a huge gym freak but ever since I got older I've just become lazy, not eating right, not working out. I'm 30 years old and I used to work out all the time from the ages 12-23ish is when I started to slow down and just stop caring how I looked. But for the past year I been debating whether or not, instead of paying money for a gym membership that I could just make my own little gym in my home. All I really need is a few flat weights, some dumbbells, a bar and what not. And after watching this video, I'm definitely going to follow through with my plans and get my body back in shape!!*
Evan and I went to the same highschool (I was 2 years ahead of him) and worked out at the same commercial gym that he first joined (Worlds). I didn’t know him very well personally, but we had a number of mutual friends and I can say he’s always been a pretty solid dude since HS. Glad to see not much has changed despite gaining so much popularity in the BB community.
Did he stand out as someone who had some kind of potential with bodybuilding to you when he really started getting into lifting? Like could you tell he had something different about him
Man, I don't know whether Evan is going to watch this or not but I really love watching him talk. He's always that calm and no matter how hard life can be I don't know I just admire him not losing his drive and his focus. So anyway I just want to say I wish you all the best in everything you do Evan and we all love you man. When you mentioned your father, it really touched me as well since I never had that with either my father or my mother. P.S. bring back the cooking videos
Been following Evan for a couple of years now. He seems to me to be one of the most honest and genuine bodybuilders out there. Love his food videos and his training/diet advice is always spot on. I wish him well with his comeback and all the best with the upcoming competition. Great to see him back...
Evan Centopani - the thinking man's bodybuilder. It's a refreshing change from the young and brash 'fitness icons' who fill our RU-vid screens. Insightful and reflective, I will never get bored listening to Evan speaking.
I just viewed your video. I was a machinist for over sixteen years in Chicago and used to workout in my parents basement. I’m an Officer now but stopped working out for some time. But watching your video has brought back old memories. You’ve motivated to get back to working out. I have my gym setup in my basement. Thanks for the motivation. New member to your channel.
F**k man that was rough hearing him talk about his dad and watching him go silent knowing he was holding back. Yea that part hit home for sure. Evan is such a cool dude and great guy. I wish him the best.
His home gym takes me back about 39 years ago when I was 11. Same fake wood panelling. Basic bench with old rusted weider plates and we had an old ugly red carpet. Oh the good ol days! Great video! I met Evan roughly about 5 or so years ago when he made an appearance at World Gym in Scarborough, Ontario. Super nice guy!
I'm so grateful that your dad has recovered from the cancer, and that you appreciate all that he has done for you. As you said, some of us never had that in our lives. Growing up, that was the biggest thing missing in my own experience. Although I never achieved anything near competition status, I've been a garage/basement lifter for over 40 years. As a policeman, I know that staying strong and in good shape saved my skin on many occasions. It's been the one constant thing in my life and undoubtedly allowed me to maintain my sanity over the years. This IMHO is one of your BEST videos! Thank you Evan!!!
My dad is currently fighting cancer. Completely healthy, independent prior... the cancer metastasized to his left leg and it was amputated. Bodybuilding got me through potentially becoming depressed and stopped my anxiety from spiralling with everything that was going on in our lives... I could’ve started taking anxiety pills but didn’t because of BB. I get exactly where you’re coming from, Evan. Thank you for sharing 💕
See..now this is what I'm talking about. There should be more videos like this. Bodybuilders in real life. Living and thinking and talking like the rest of us who will never know what that life is like. But we work, raise kids, live the best we can and love the iron just like the first time it bit us. I'll be 45 next week. I still try to hit it like I was 15. Reality I cant. But I dont love it any less. Evan, I wish all lifters were as genuine and honest as you man. Much respect. You're a good man, one that all new iron addicts should look up to.
Awesome Evan!! Lost my Dad just over a year ago to Parkinson’s. I think that’s very cool that you could share that with your pops. Keep doing it. Good luck in 2020!
This was badass. The artistic aspects, the emotionality, the editing, Evan just speaking his mind, and the overall delivery. Whenever Evan is the subject I feel like there is going to be something worth watching, and this was a real treat to watch all the way through. Whoever decided to have this as their project to put together, the collaboration with Evan, this was fucking awesome and I hope the team that worked on this will do similar projects in the future. Thanks for this.
I used to work for a small food market in Trumbull CT, and before I knew who he was there was this man who would always come in and was so down to earth in talking to me. This man would always encourage me to follow my dreams and go for my goals in life. Our conversations were so real and left an impact. The man I talked to was Evan. He is such a nice man and has the upmost respect for everyone. Much love Evan good luck to you. All these years you stuck with me!!
Envious of his home gym, people nowadays don't know how to train, they have this bored, mopey, dopey look on their face where they're just going through the motions. Then they just sit there and text. It's like, "Why are you even here?"
Man where do i start or who knows if u even read this, but you knocked this one out the park!! From the basic basement to the machine shop it was all so REAL!! I have this machining background and love to train, but the 20 min mark got me deep. Cherish these times with your Dad and create those everlasting memories. My story is to long for this, but i can say its the total opposite of yours. May u continue a good relationship and wish u the best on all your endeavours!!
Evan you are one of a kind in this industry ! I truly enjoy every video you put up . I have realized you don't put up videos just for the sake of popularity or filling a slot like others . Thank you so much for making videos like this .
I'm a former competitive bodybuilder and bodybuilding will always be in my heart. I'm a Health & Fitness Solutions provider that provides personalized training only in the homes of my clients. I hear exactly what you are saying in this video. Working out at home is an awesome way to really benefit from working out, truly personalized and extremely valuable as a way to meditate and find oneself. Love this video Evan!!! -Jeremy Smith, your fan!
I’m at my home during Quarantine with no gym and no sense of going anywhere. I feel lost with no structure and this put a smile on my face. This made me realize that there is hope. This is a beautiful sport. Thank you AnimalPak, thank you Evan.
You’re a special bloke Evan, hearing you choke on your tears talking about your dad, your exceptional attention to detail in everything you do, your sincerity in what you believe in. I’ve followed along with you for quite a few years now and that’s really not my style. Let me tell you that I wish you the very best mate, I hope you succeed in all your goals. Best wishes all the way from over here in Australia.
Really from the heart bro! You are truly an inspiration Ev. Family is always first clearly you walk the walk man god bless 🙏🏽thanks so much for this. No content like this is available on RU-vid much.! Thank you!
World needs more people like Evan Centopani in it, he's a shining example in the IFBB and a general all around person of integrity and character. Thank you to Animal for all "mini documentary".
You were and are my inspiration. for you I began to training since 10 years ago. Thank you so much Evan, you’re my idol of bodybuilding. A fan from Mexico
Awesome that you have a great relationship with your dad! I think that's why you turned out so awesome. A good dad makes all the difference in a young man's life.
One of if not the most humble bodybuilders out there. Such a genuine, good person. My favourite bodybuilder by far. Alot of respect for Evan. Met him a few years back too and such a gentleman.
Ultimate goals. The wood paneling, all of it. Such an energy comes out of that basement just seeing it in the video. It’s like basement gyms back in the Midwest. especially with everything going on right now, really cool to watch this and make myself move this up on the priority list.
So great that you have a good relationship with your dad! I appreciate all the good advice you have given to this channel and it's cool that it can be applied in all aspects of life, not just bodybuilding. Keep it up bro!!!! 😁 💪🏽
Love Evan , such a genuine guy , Thanks for always inspiring or helping others in diet/training , to recovery and even the will to do something in life .. Love that old school looks .
What an inspiring story and person. Evan is the antithesis of your typical bodybuilder, at least from most people's perspectives. He's humble, shows his vulnerabilities, he is intelligent and well spoken, and most importantly a champion of life. I am a martial artist and bodybuilder and I can see the parallels in the self realization and humility that one can get from bodybuilding and martial arts. In the beginning you may feel cocky and unclear as to why you are participating, but maturity and truthful understanding will eventually bring a clarity to life and your understanding of yourself that creates people like Evan. Awesome stuff
I’m a longtime fan Evan. I’ve been a fan of the sport since I was a skinny 13 year old boy. I’ll be 64 on the 11th. I’ve really enjoyed about all of your videos, but this is by far, your best one brother! Simply fantastic man. Keep’em coming! Thank you!
Evan, you dont know how much I enjoy your videos... dont know what it is... maybe your persona, your knowledge, or just the way you speak... I'm an MD and more or less know the stuff you say about nutrition, and training, because not only have I studied it in school but its my passion as well. Anyhow I still keep finding your videos very very interesting. Missed you a bit during when you had the injury.. Glad you are back! Keep going!
This was fantastic. As a amateur bodybuilder who has always enjoyed Evan vids, this took it to a new level for me personally. I started with the set my parents bought me. My dad was a machinist and watching that drill press brought back memories. I could smell it, feel it, imagine it. A genuine story that hit so many levels. Most touching was how I just found out my dad was diagnosed with cancer, too. Thank you, Evan and Animal.
Evan is the real deal. This video has so much soul. Old dungeons are the best. Old weights, old bars with the the rough rusted knurling. Old school looking room with zero flare. Nothing beats that atmosphere. Great video!
Ive always liked Evan since i started lifting. Hes a great down to earth, humble , blue collar man we can relate too! His connection with his dad is great, not everyone is lucky enough to have that. Thanks Evan for being you , keep up the great work!!
Great video...touching, the love of a Father who you enjoy being with, how proud you are of him and the knowledge you earned from him to build a piece of equipment you two made.
the best thing i've seen regarding bodybuilding in a long, long time!! The production of this short film is spoton and ,my God, Evan it's an incredible story teller. He is really gifted, not only with his fizic, but with his personality and character. A very nice job indeed.
Favorite bodybuilder of all times. Simple, calm, natural, old school, without artifice. What this world needs. I love his process and The Build series, he grow his garden, cook his food, build his gym - build his body. Rgds.
It’s about 35 years i’m in the game ( believe or not, some titles and thropies in my back ...). I don’t wanna absolutely look cocky or else, nor talking like the ultimate “IKNOWEVERYTHING ego-maniac”(...), but I can assert with no doubts this guy is one among the best, true intelligent, humble, respectful, tenacious, spreading and sharing real knowledge of this world ever existed and ..ok ..I stop so not look I don’t know wat; but I really luv you Evan, the way you stay on the path and your vision and so much values you put inside; and I tell you in Italian ‘cause is in your surname - “omen nomen”(?)- : CENTO (100) E PIÙ ANNI DI GLORIA(!) Your Italian fan from day one.
My father lost his fight with colon cancer, so seeing you tear up in appreciation that your father is still here, still by your side, and helping you achieve your goals was incredibly touching. Thank you, Evan, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
I don't usually comment on bodybuilding videos - even though it's something I love, I feel out of place when I think of all the big guys out there that are infinitely stronger and bigger than I am. But this hits home. Evan was one of my first real inspirations back when I started training at 16 years old. I've been training in my home gym ever since, as there are no gyms nearby that I consider worthy of 40 bucks a month. There's something to be said about training on your own, with limited equipment and weights. I've learned everything by myself, had my ups and downs and, thankfully, have never gotten injured. It's awesome to train on your own, you can take your time, you don't feel pressured, you can listen to your own music and don't have to deal with anyone's bullshit. But, for me at least, it becomes very hard to stay focused long-term and to push myself that much more. I don't have anyone to spot me if I mess it up or to make me crank out those extra reps. Also, my gym looks nowhere near the hardcore garage gyms you see in the US and so on. It's an attic gym, which looks more like a nice living room than an actual gym. That can also affect my attitude, especially if I'm not feeling my best. I hope one day I can get to the point I want to be. I'd be happy to be a relatively lean 200-ish lbs at 6 feet tall and get my lifts to respectable numbers. But for now I'll have to work with what I've got - a crappy bench that forces me to do close grip bench press as it is really narrow, 220 lbs worth of plates, a 25 lb barbell, two dumbbells (those that you add the weights onto) and a multi-function machine. Thanks for the inspiration. Best wishes from Portugal!
Man this was an awesome video. So cool to see you and your dad doing it together. My dad was my best friend and I wish he was still here. Just looking at the two of you together, you can tell he’s proud of you. All the best with your comeback bro!
Just wanted to say man that you’ve been an inspiration for me since I started bodybuilding. You, josh halladay, frank mcgrath. And I can relate because I experienced the same journey you did growing up. I was obese, I starved myself the summer of 8th grade going into high school and ran every day. Lost 65 lbs that summer. It felt great but two years later I found myself wanting to get big and muscular. Just wanted to say thanks for all you do and I’m looking forward to seeing your journey back to the stage man
