The Burnside Bridge, the last battle walk of the Antietam Spring Battle Walk series of 2023 

This May 14, 2023 battle walk, led by Ranger Mike, focuses on the 9th Corps attacks on the lower, or Rohrbach (as it was known at the time) bridge during the Battle of Antietam on September 17, 1862, the bloodiest day of the Civil War. This beautiful, tranquil setting changed into a scene of death and destruction that day, and will forever remain as one of the most famous landmarks of that terrible struggle.
