Please do a longer, more in depth video on this topic. Specifically starting from zero and executing from step one. It's my dream to open a CrossFit gym, but I have zero business experience. All I have is the idea, willingness to work hard, and passion. I really feel stuck. Awesome video; very relevant in my life right now!

Good stuff Austin! Had a key takeaways from this video: 1) Love the idea of trying to convince yourself out of starting/owning a gym. Most people look for every reason that it will succeed. You'll learn a lot about yourself and your motivations by doing the opposite. 2) Couldn't agree more with what you said at the end about our responsibility to our staff and our employees to keep growing the gym and providing opportunities for them. It's easy to get bogged down in complaints or negative feedback that is inevitable with growth. Focusing on providing for your team is a great way to keep the blinders on and keep pushing forward.

Great video, would love to know ballpark ranges that you'd advise for how much cash to have upfront to start, and the baseline to have on hand at all times, aka, a low cash threshold to never break.

Great video ! Awesome information... but, what about a gym on a much much smaller scale. I have a very small gym. 15 members. I don’t want the headache of building it bigger and larger. I am housed out of my garage. I have various certifications so I’m able to offer the service, but I just want to maintain my members and provide quality instruction to ppl that are to intimidated to walk into a public gym. How do I maintain what I have ?

The key to the small scale gym, is understanding expectations. You will coach a lot and for a long time, you really can't outsource to much or take on employees. It is a great model if you know that you will be doing most the day to day! Sounds like you know what you want, which is PERFECT! Now as time goes on, you need to manage your life and work and see how they can reconcile!

I don’t work full time , and I’ve been in the health and fitness industry since I was 19 I am now 42. But I do want to keep my business small. The one business I have is my meal prepping business . I would really like for that to grow. But I’m not sure how to price my food since I live in a really small town, and ppl are not enthusiastic about paying much for your work and time. How do I get my meal prep business To grow? My meal prep is named Cocina de Azul

I agree with Shane’s comment about details about creating a business plan...basically I need to know what I don’t know. And, my plan is to retire from my career and pursue this a secondary career/investment plan, with the ideas of not paying myself for x number years so to build and grow a great place with great coaches.
