There's something really weird about Butters' dub actor using the "ore" pronoun. Both in terms of Butters' personality from the original English, and the voice they're using here. I'm guessing that since it's common for Japanese elementary school boys to switch to using "ore" at around Butters' age, they're assuming this will make sense..?
Butters would def use ore tbh, he speaks fluent pimp and AAVE to Biggie Smalls. Aside from that, he probably would because most of the other boys would and maybe would make fun of him for using a more childish one
@@Honeyr0ck Japanese features a number of different pronouns you can use when referring to yourself, each with their stereotypes about what kind of person uses what attached to them. “Ore” is usually associated with gruff, manly-men, it’s not a great fit for Butters since he’s very soft-spoken and timid. Something like “boku” which has a youthful, boyish tone would be better.
Yes. South Park was very popular in japan back in the 00's. I think it's popularity has declined now, but that's honestly true for the rest of the world as well.
I think it’s because of region-locking. Some countries won’t allow you to view certain shows from another country, unless you took the risky approach of having a VPN. Now, as far as finding the show in Japan, this depends on the channel you would turn to, and also depends on both Internet & cable compatibility. That said, it’s kinda ridiculous that a lot of South Park clips in the Japanese dub are either not uploaded or just are not available for some reason.
