I'm glad i'm not the only person on the planet that uses a mirrorless as a 21st century polaroid for roll film. I honestly went overboard on ebay. I stepped straight into 1998. Eos 1 and some 2.8 tokina zooms from that era. oh lord they heavy. Also picked up some 1st gen nikon d glass, and some tamron glass for pentax. People are letting dead and dying mounts go for pennies on the dollar. Pocket wizards. I forgot they existed. They work so much better than the 30 dollar amazon specials and aren't that much more expensive used. B's processor. Worth every penny. I don't know if it would help you in a commercial situation. there is a youtuber called dave's film lab. I bought it on his recommendation video. good luck with your new endeavor.

Dave is a friend of mine! I have also been using the B’s processors for some time now. Amazing little device.

@@ThePhotoDept there are going to be a lot more amazing little devices. Small batch mfgr with simple parts and 20 dollar computer boards are the future of analog photography. Humans are creative and adaptive and profit is a great motivator. I can't wait to see what people come up with.

That Mamiya C330 looks like a great camera. Sort of the Hasselblad V system of TLRs. Very cool!

Shooting my XE2 alot atm to combat the cost of film.. but kida loving it! Adapted a Pentax that converts to 35mm + a promist, that combo and some film sims and the jpgs looks amazing

Interesting that you're using a mirrorless as a light meter. I have all kinds of questions. Mind if I post em here for conversation's sake?

absolutely!

@@ThePhotoDept awesome. 1) does it matter which lens you use? 2) are you putting the camera on the same tripod as the film camera or just hand holding it? 3) are you doing it just for E6 or all three film types?
@ThePhotoDept
@ThePhotoDept Год назад
great questions! 1) i try to use a focal length that is similar to the lens i’m shooting with, as well as a lens that has the same aperture range. it’s not critical, though. 2) i usually just handhold unless it’s a long exposure then i am putting it on the tripod. 3) i use it for all film, it doesn’t matter. it works really well for e-6 specifically because e-6 tends to act like digital, ie; protect the highlights. but using it to generally meter a scene works perfectly fine no matter what film you’re shooting.
@BillPutnamPhoto

@@ThePhotoDept Thanks, man. So like if you're shooting with a 150 on a 4x5 you're putting a 50 on the mirrorless right?
@ThePhotoDept
@ThePhotoDept Год назад
yeah, whatever works out to be the closest i’ll try to do that. often times i’ll just stick with the 23mm (35mm in full frame) for ease of use and just try to envision the crop. it doesn’t matter what focal length in reality it’s more of a preference

To add some real feedback. I love the 6x6! I was shooting a Yashica Mat LM for a while before picking up a Rollei 2.8C and (besides an occasional jamming issue while advancing film...) I've been loving it.
