I have the small candle. To me, the berry accord is the dominant one. Regarding performance, I cannot forget the look on the face of the delivery guy who brought me the Trudon parcel. Basically, the Trudon candle perfumed the entire truck. Thank you for the review. Cire Trudon is a company that changed the way I think of wax, candles and the fragrance industry.

Thank you, an amazing review of a candle brand I fell so in LOVE with on my first experience with handling it. During my last year at Neiman Marcus, I was the visual merchandiser for cosmetics/candles. We had the line in the store and I'm sure it is still doing well with the Neiman Marcus shopper. My favorite Trudon candle that I burn often is "Spiritus Sancti". It brings me back to my youth raised in the catholic church this scent was burned on Christmas mass always. I learned about the history of this brand and that really won my heart to this candle line. There are so many great scents, you truly inspire me with your talks. Much appreciated :)

Thank you so much for this in depth and lovely review..I have been waiting for this one. I ordered it blindly and I'm not disappointed. Usually I don't blind buy but this was too tempting. It's a little pricy but so worth it. I don't like all Trudon's candles either, but even the ones I don't particularly care for or think suits my home and mood, I can appreciate. They are so well crafted and curated and worth the splurge. I always say that Diptyque's Feu de Bois is my husband (because it's the candle I have burned the most in my life) and Ernesto from Trudon is my hot lover 😉 Again, thank you for everything you do, I'm always delighted to watch your videos and hear your point of view.

Your descriptions of your husband and hot lover candles are hilarious - and I so get it!! 🤣🤣. I was happy to see that I’m not the only one who does not fall down in a faint at the discovery of every single new Trudon! Since I’m in the Midwest and have no resource for “sniffing first”, all of my Trudon buys are blind ones. It feels blasphemous on this channel to say that Madeleine was (whispering) *not a fave*; of course I appreciate the complexity and the artistry but does it make me fantasize about it? Not yet. That said, I’ve not lit it so I should probably reserve judgment hahah. But it’s the Spiritus Sanctus that has thrown me for a loop. The site descriptions and the MANY comments I read all over the place has me slavering over it…and upon opening it I’m sorry to say that I hated it!! Which is so rare for me! There’s a quite sharp and green tangy medicinal something that I can’t identify, whereas I was anticipating - well, a 500 year old Catholic Church, with all the attendant finery and incense and accoutrements. Again, I know just the cold throw but can’t imagine the gif throw will turn me into a passionate fan. Would love to hear others’ thoughts about SS!

I am SOOO grateful that you made this video!! As always, I use your fabulous “cold and hot throw graphs” as the benchmark for my blind buy candle purchases - and this candle has been very high on my radar for months. I think you might have just saved me $135. Whereas I’m certain that it is sublime, at $135 I do prefer a very strong scent, so I’ll take a look at the rose poivre - rose and pepper being a longtime fave. I’m an avid rose gardener (112 bushes!) so I am always on the hunt for that perfect rose candle! I wonder if someone here can compare the Tuileries to Baies? Your description of the berries made me think of that one. Or Byredo Burning Rose? Or Malone Red Roses? Which is quite beautiful but a tad bit watery for me. Anyway! Thanks again for your invaluable content!

They don't use paraffin. 100% vegetable wax (specifically, palm oil, rice, soy and coconut).

Hi Rekeema . I got Madeline from Cire Trudon however found it underwhelming could hardly smell it and once a while got a bit of whiff but nothing to write home about. Could this be a batch issue or not a genuine . I have others Abdl Kadr Cymros and the other name i cant recollect now they were amazing and always got compliments. I got my daughter Cire too and that was amazing too. Any idea or thoughts why Madeline has been so underwhelming.

Hi! It could either be a batch issue or your nose/space doesnt find the scent enjoyable or too subtle for preference. Abd el Kader and Cyrnos are such phenomenal performers with strong scent presence that Madeleine may just be too subtle of a scent for the space. I wish Trudon made large sizes for Madeleine lol.

I was on Trudon’s website in the FAQ section today and noticed the question about what kind of wax they use. It said in French that they use a mixture of vegetable wax and paraffin. A lot of places and people have said they never use paraffin, what do you think is going on?

I found out their scented candles are vegetal/Soy, and their busts and tapers are paraffin based. They should really explain it in detail on their site.
