@rachelMB Having an inflated ego and low self-esteem are two different things. Low self esteem is thinking lowly about yourself while inflated ego is the opposite. I can relate to him, but instead of blaming women I blame myself for my own inadequacy/ lack of skills when dealing with women.

It just seemed silly to me to hurt people because they are living better than you. Instead of envying them, he should have learned from them. To this day, people are hurt, confused, angry, scared and sad. But they can improve upon their mental as well as their physical health. Make money. But not for women, but for themselves. From the footage its clear that Elliot had spent too much of his life in his head and preferred his idea of reality. No one ever tried to pry and find out what the kid was really thinking and unfortunately it lead to him being so oblivious. Do you mean advice for depressed people in general or advice for men that have issues with women? My advice would be to talk about all of the amazing things life can bring, I think having a passion is part of that so you could also maybe ask about their hobbies or ask them to imagine what they would be experiencing in the most ideal version of their life, and to tell them that that is completely possible but first I would maybe start out with simple things that might seem silly like asking them to listen to their favorite song, or watch their favorite movie and ask them to describe it in as much detail as possible and what positive feeling that gave them, then remind them that life is full of moments like that and we're capable of creating and experiencing immense joy as much as we are capable of experiencing sadness and the more you invite joy in, in small moments, the more it accumulates and intensifies. My advice for men that have issues with women would be that they have to first love themselves, and also be a person that we can feel safe around, they can also find women that share common interests with them.
