Like the only reason why I care about politics, so much is that I literally have no other choice. I have to stay up-to-date with certain laws in certain states because if I don’t, I could lose my rights like that I wish it wasn’t this way I could just go to like Florida or Texas, and not be harassed for being who I am but unfortunately I live in America that’s just how it is here

Most journalists are. I know it’s hard to tell because we’re flooded with crazy snippets of news segments for sensationalism, but reporters are supposed to get perspective in order to help the broader audience understand how people like the interviewee feel. Stations like NPR do a good job of this. It allows us to comprehend and critically think instead of being caught up in the hoorah.

I am actually a Brazilian communist that watches Shawn regularly and as I watched this video I thought it would be a good ideia to at least make a point that some people might not know; as cited before that I am Brazilian, please forgive me if any big writting mistakes surfaced during this. In the video these guys have spoken about a cultural revolution, but that’s something that makes zero sense while the message you spread is just common sense repeated through years, as Shawn pointed out; a revolution, such as the capitalist revolution in France, that happened around 1789 destroys the production logic of a certain time and, consequently, ideas that were “mainstream” at that time. Obviously it takes time and the ideas shift over a long time, as China for example that is still in the middle of their process, so if these guys are defending a conservative view, they are defending the ideas that are already mainstream, there is never going to be a revolution about it simply because there is no need to, historically speaking. I know that a lot of you guys will probably just hate “because communism”, but love to you guys anyway. Love your content Shawn, thanks for it and keep strong.

Cara, coincidentemente eu tô lendo um livro do Immanuel Wallerstein que chama Capitalismo histórico e civilização capitalista. Você como comunista deve ter lido (pra ampliar o ponto de vista ou criticar, já que o Wallerstein era crítico da ideia da revolução socialista), mas deixando isso de lado, é muito interessante pensar nisso que você falou pela perspectiva da crise do capitalismo. O capitalismo tá em crise desde os anos 70 e a gente tá vivendo a transição pra um novo sistema. Wallerstein vai citar três motivos estruturais pra crise estrutural (lembrando que o cara escreveu no final dos anos 80, à frente do tempo dele) e um deles é que a gente tá perto de mercantilizar tudo, inclusive as unidades domiciliares, o que torna logicamente o sistema cada vez mais insustentável. E ai como alternativa pra tentar desacelerar a mercantilização e a proletarização (que só aumenta né) os acumuladores de capital passam a defender narrativas antisistêmicas e revolucionárias. Propagar que o mundo tá cada vez mais "esquerdista", coisa bem bolsonara de se fazer diga-se de passagem, é uma estratégia super eficiente pra tentar manter o sistema coeso na ideia que o Estado que realmente faz a diferença, pra endossar a narrativa do universalismo etc. Esses caras realmente acham que tão fazendo alguma "diferença num mundo cheio de gente esquerdista" 😂😂😂 P.S: assisto o Shawn desde 2017, primeiramente pelo gosto por música e agora tô surpresa com o engajamento político. Black dude is a grifter like the rest of them, but he clearly seems genuinely conservative and homophobic; the other rappers seem more concerned with the money and their uptick in popularity. Also, the fact that these conservatives consider someone's sexual orientation and religious views as major political points is laughable. Conservativism is a necessary counterbalance to liberalism in order to protect private interest, business, and general individual freedoms. It promotes accountability and personal responsibility which as an adult I understand that freedom always comes with the burden of more responsibility. Liberalism moreso promotes government protection. The government has the responsibility to make the community a better place, because left to our own devices the same communities and people will exploit their wealth and look out for their own. Both are necessary to a degree. Too much conservatism and the middle class slowly disappears and average mfs have to consider if they can financially go to the hospital when they're sick or not, and too much liberalism would lower the standard of living. If everything is provided to you by the government then resources get limited really fast and you can't indulge with money in the same way you could have if you have earned it yourself. Also the wealthy would be taxed to the point (in the extreme) that being wealthy would be pointless since you have to give it away. It's annoying seeing both sides hate each other because I know if I had to live in a country fueled by either extreme I would ,and most people would, be miserable.

When all the people there are being friendly to you with your pride flag, that's because they _are_ seeing you as a person even though they don't like the pride movement. When they cheer for the ripped flag, that's because they don't see LGBT culture as a positive thing to promote. If they only saw ideas and not people then they _would_ be treating someone wearing pride gear poorly.
