Herbert isn't going to turn around the offensive line and running backs assuming he can stay healthy. This team is 3 years away from a winning season IFFFF they draft well.

I agree. Aside from the kickers there aren't any starters playing. It is mostly a group of guys that are going to get cut mixed in with some 2nd, 3rd string players. Trying to asses how good the team will be in preseason is pointless.

Defense looked solid. Henley and Fulton stood out to me in their limited PT. Tito looked great too. Tuli and Bud as backups is crazy. But boy that offense was just abysmal. The thing I was looking forward to the most was the opportunities for WRs like Rice and QJ, but they didn’t even get a chance from these QBs.
Dude Seattle's db's shut that shit down and Seattle was running a very vanilla defensive base scheme that's not even how the defense is going to play in regular season let's be real lol
Funny shit is the chargers blitzed about 40 percent of the game while seahawks blitzed about 15 percent of the time yall damn line had to triple team a rookie Byron Murphy lol yes stick is trash but Seattle shut that shit down

Our playcalling on O was insanely bland too, maybe cuz Greg Roman doesn't wanna show too much of what will actually happen in the preseason, or he just hasn't had time to install everything yet. But I do agree wit you that Mike Macdonald is gonna do wonders with that defense, especially with the speed on that defense to be able to just fly around the field

Are you basing that statement on a preseason game that had no starters and many 2nd string players sitting? What specific contracts are haunting the Chargers for years? Most will be off the books at the end of 2024.
From what I saw; Stick was so bad that I couldn’t evaluate the rest of the offense! There was no way to extrapolate on what the offense is going to be like with the information given on that field. Don’t know if I have ever seen a worse performance by a quarterback.

It's good because Easton stick got exposed and we know who he was from last year but the new coaches needed to understand we need a way better second quarterback
The good thing about our coach is I promise you all he will get the team better week after week, unlike Staley, whose teams got worse throughout the season. Harbaugh will make improvements every week and that’s all you want to see. What he did do a good job of was limiting reps for certain players and getting reps to the players who needed it. But overall Roman is already on the hot seat because they look like they had zero offensive identity and negative execution. D looks solid
Harbaugh is just looking at individual abilities, in this first week... Team field unity on offense wasn't very important.... So. This next game, they should start looking more together...
The Chargers did not play their ones on D and held them to a 3-3 tie. GRo told us last week that they were not game planning and playing a vanilla scheme to look at basics. Stick proved he is not an NFL QB. He panics in 11 on 11. On a completion to Stone, Rice, on layer deeper was running free for an easy score. Harbaugh lost his first pre-season game with the 49ers 23-3. It is ONE pre-season game. The defense and the Teams were solid. The defense was on the field for 79 plays and gave up 16 points. Relax everyone. Herbo is coming back and they have a month to get things polished. Alt was solid and the one pressure he gave up was partly Pips fault.
Man Greg Roman has run multiple I mean multiple top 5 offenses lol and winning games im not worried at all it’s like you forget we don’t have a good receiver corps even with the starters it’s gonna be a struggle I know we love jim but this would be a miracle if he turns it around in year one don’t forget we were terrible last year

@@andrewbird57 I have no problem with that. Stick is really nice guy. But when you look at his tapes from last year and how he played Saturday, I believe you have seen all you need to see.
This was an evaluation game. OK. It's clear that the game is too big for Stick. If Herbert likes him so much, park him on the practice squad so he's; in the QB room during the week. It also shows that a lot of Telesco draft picks are no bueno. Time to make room for players that have juice. Goodbye Spiller, Woods, Rumph. If Nieman misses another tackle get rid of him too.
It looks 2 me Sticks is about to lose his job to Luis Pérez unless we run with 3 QBs which could be a possibility then they Trade Pérez for something we need or picks. Luis is the short time he played his ready I doubt we will be able too keep him if he plays good in the next preseason games
Everyone I want you to watch the replay were stick throws the interception. He has double teams on the right side & should’ve rolled right and he can’t even make that Read. he has poor football instincts. Instead, he drags left and throws it over the middle amongst five defenders and almost gets his player killed.
It was telling that Harbaugh looked VERY uncomfortable in the post_game presser. This team is boooring and looks mediocre. So much hype but htave to concede thatthis is going tobe arebuild and a lot more disappointment coming before we can turn the corner. JH may not want to hang around too much longer.

I was disappointed that we didn't get zach wilson in the off season. WOuld've been cheap and he has arm talent that would be serviceable under harbaugh
How can you not be concerned about Herbert not practicing? New offense new receivers new TE's and new offense coach and all will be great when he comes back? And the OL tucked. We are looking at another BAD year.
Herbert wouldn't have played regardless. He never has. Don't give away all the tricks before. They played smart. Suck in pre season kill it in regular season
I really thought they would cut Stick today tbh... having said that, he WILL be after this next game. Harbaugh is going through the motions with him now. Perez is not a great or even good QB long term, but he is way better than any backup QB the Boltz currently have. Basically folks, If Herbie goes down, our season is done. Even if our defense lives up to the hype so far, w/o an offense, NO defense can be good because they will always be behind the 8 ball.

Apparently the first preseason game when harbaugh was with the niners looked almost identical and I think maybe even a little worse than the chargers looked. Joe Alt looked solid, but the depth will need to be addressed at Oline, the only thing im really worried about right now.
