My uncle who was a popular attorney in the 70s early 80s, had an attorney’s office on Vernon. Used to take me there as a youngster. The Asian family has owned that for generations. Pack of buns are 6$ 1/2 a lb ground beef 6$ lettuce 3$ tomatoes (from local shops are about 1-2$) ketchup and mustard about 3$ each. For 20$ and sum change, you could probably have 3 burgers in the week. and leftover buns and condiments , until check hits and you can buy another 1/2 lb of ground beef. People, learn to cook. save money.

Anyway, here is a simple way to make real good ones. buy, wash, peel, heat oil to 170 degree celsius, boil for a short time till mildly browned, put in cold water bowl with vinegar, let it rest in the fridge for an hour, take it out, let it dry boil again in oil till crispy, empty the water bowl and put the fries, salt and paprika powder in there, swirl, serve@@iruwild
I’m here in the South of the US where things are cheaper typically and it’s becoming more and more challenging to get lunch under 10$ that’s not fast food or using a coupon/app rewards.

When we use to go to Atlanta Georgia from Huntsville Alabama there was a place that sold burgers for 5 for 1 dollar , 1968 or so I REMEMBER THEY WERE SO GOOD LOL , THIS BURGER LOOKS VERY GOOD ALSO

A-1 burger is a staple bro right off 43rd and Vernon. Always bomb, pro tip: get your fries crispy (well done). They are good either way but they go great with with a bacon cheeseburger with the fried egg on it 👌🏾
