Hey Mojo, try out an upper with a Riflespeed adjustable gasblock. You don't have to use a tool, just use your fingers to rotate the knob. Only cons is the added weight on the fore end, compatibility of handguards, and rail estate loss.

For my dedicated suppressed guns I prefer BRT EZ-Tune gas tubes. I tried the Bootleg BCG in one of my guns and on anything other than the wide open setting my gun wouldn’t lock back after the last round 100% reliably. So in that specific instance I just couldn’t take advantage of the BCG’s tuning capacity so I just sold it to a buddy.

I’ve been preaching on these BCGs forever and people criticized me because “a good properly gassed gun doesn’t need adjustable anything” regardless this makes my suppressed and even non suppressed guns shoot so well I swear by them have many 1000s of rounds through them!! If you have a properly gassed gun that still has a super snappy recoil impulse would the bcg help with that? Ive already gone superlative adjustable gas block, as well as an A5 system with the heavier A5 buffer and its still snappy as hell.

When tuning a rifle, mass and springs are the last step, not first. Sprinco will tell you to control the gas drive before fine tuning with buffers and springs. Black River Tactical Ez-Tune Gas Tubes are the easiest and cheapest way to change your gas drive.

BRT EZ TUNE 0.073 is my go too for running gassy Can on Mid length Rig . My current setup is BA 556N 13.9 Hanson , BRT 0.073 Tube , Springco Blue , H2 and YHM Turbo K .. I ran a Bootleg for 2 years on my 11.5. It was fine and definitely lowered recoil. But it still vents a lot of gas out of the ejection port. once I was ready to re-barrel my gun, I went to a 12.5 midlength gas, with a riflespeed adjustable gas lock,a Sprinco blue spring, and H3 buffer. It’s been about 2 years and it’s been phenomenal. Runs like a race horse, actually lowers the blowback and I can actually tune my gun to my individual suppressors to lower the ejection port blast at the shooters ear. And it’s a super robust system with definitive clicks that have never been accidentally adjusted or come loose. In my backup gun, I run a BRT EZ Tune gas tube.
@Bisley1
@Bisley1 3 месяца назад
Just curious, why the increased power blue spring and H3 buffer, if you‘re running the riflespeed AGB anyway? Also, how do you feel about the 12.5 vs 11.5 in functionality and length, not the gassing situation?
@Kenposhinobi
@Kenposhinobi 3 месяца назад
@@Bisley1 if you only want low recoil, you could just use an adjustable gas block. But as a suppressor host, you are trying to keep the BCG in lock up as long as possible to allow as much gas to move forward as well as let chamber pressures come down. That way you get less gas blow back as well as less port pop making it quieter at the shooters ear. 11.5 vs 12.5. They are very comparable, but I do get more consistency past 400 yards with the 12.5. And you get a bit more rail space for lights, lasers etc.
@investigativeoutcomes9343
@investigativeoutcomes9343 3 месяца назад
if you have an AGB why not use the lightest buffer and tune your GB? 🤨
@Kenposhinobi
@Kenposhinobi 3 месяца назад
@@investigativeoutcomes9343 if you purely want insane recoil reduction to make it like a race gun, you can go that route. But if it’s a suppressor host. It will be very gassy. With a suppressor host, you want to keep the bolt carrier in battery as long as possible to allow more gasses to move forward through the can and for chamber pressure to come down. That way you have less gas blowback and less port pop, making it quieter at the shooters ear.

Ive personally tried all the diffrent aetups over the years . What works beat for ke when running gassy Can is BRT EZ TUNE 0.073 Middy Gas Tube . This is my current setup.. BA 13.9 Hanson , BRT 0.073 EZ Tube , Springo Blue , H2 and YHM Turbo K . In getting 0330 ejection and with very little gas in my face ( lefty long gun ahooter ) and my gas rings are lasting when non suppressed.. Before i was changing rings wvery 500 to 700 rounds . Im nkw well over 2.5k and they are GTG. BRT tunes need to be swapped every 10k rounds . I usually buy 2 of them to last the full cycle of barrel before it needs swapped . Im not a fan of Adj gas Blocks so the BRT was no brainer . There is some slight tuning involved but nothing that cant be figured out in 1 range trip .

How is long term reliability compared to a milspec bolt? I like the riflespeed but it adds a bunch of weight to the end of the weapon. So im still running superlative gas blocks for now.

Judging from the comments saying that it blasts everything out the side suppressed, probably not your best option. But I don’t know.

What’s the round count on them? Suppressed and unsuppressed

At about 250 rounds of rifle a weekend for the last 2 years and not including classes and training courses over 20k for sure.

@@milspec_mojonice, did you notice any gas ring failures in that time or were you just theorizing it could cause more wear to those rings? If so what round count?
@milspec_mojo
@milspec_mojo 3 месяца назад
@@autonomousdefense so far with the round count I’ve changed my gas rings maybe 3 times? Only reason I noticed was the ejection was working its way back to the 1:30. As soon as I noticed the ejection pattern I swapped it out and no issues

@@milspec_mojo gotcha, friend of mine has seen a few of those come through classes with issues, I imagine that is the reason why or perhaps the carrier being borderline out of spec based off the school of American rifles inspection of the carrier. entirely possible that was just old problems they corrected over the years, good review.

Sharps SAGRS Adjustable Bolt Carrier Group in DLC So much better hands down. Yeah little longer to adjust each time but no thing. I run pinned solid non adjustable gas block so if ima adjust this is the way to go. Yeah best thing tuning your gas tube itself but no one got that kinda scratch. Bruh you can cop the sharps on a sale for almost same price way better materials design all that son.

Does the bootleg BCG work with the Vltor A5 buffer system or do you need to use an H2 buffer?

The secret is to be yoked enough to squat 250 below parallel or a suppressor for -10% recoil stat
