No, they saved time. BOCW was supposed to be released next year after Sledgehammer's game, but you know, they're out of the rotation. Besides, wouldn't Activsion have a lot of money to spend from MW.
Adler in the lie ending: "you could've made something out of yourself kid" Also adler if Bell makes something out of themself: "it was never personal" *kills bell*
Yeah I was really hoping that Cold War would have a sequel where they where the main characters one that was in the black ops universe but with a different story
Yep. Basically Treyarch decided that BO2 is a direct sequel to BO1 until now when they then come up with new characters Adler and Bell. But in order to make them not exist in BO2, they have them kill each other.
@Arturo Ordaz Why talk about a threat that's been ended when there's another potentially bigger threat that needs to be dealt with as soon as possible?
@@tdm_heyzeus same like they should always stay disconnected also it doesn’t make sense how woods is an operater in modern warfare because he got his knee caps shot off in bo2
@@DOMlNlCDOTCOM guys it doesn't matter they only put woods in as an operator to Promote COLD WAR, he has no significance to mw at all, you guys are so fucking skeptical.
@@ididntmeantoshootthatvietn5012 Yes, reasonable. CIA can't trust anyone as in this ending Perseus can be anyone. If Bell's brainwashing goes off, he can activate the nukes. Thus, unlike Roach, Bell has more reasons to be killed for the greater good and unlike Shepherd, Adler has more reasons to kill Bell in order to stop Bell.
bruh did you play the game? They where all involved in this Brainwash thing. Hudson even wanted to kill Bell before the ending happened. And theres a scene where you can talk to mason and frank, most of the time they saying mean things when you start the conversation with them. the aerial bombardment should've been called anyway, they're dealing with what seems to be retrograde WW2 85mm anti-air cannon not something like SAM site or 23mm autocannons, good luck actually shooting down jets using that gun, and then those anti-air tracers on the skybox doesn't seem to be much of a bother anyway
Man that’s exactly what a thought when I played that mission. Why the fuck are they using flak guns lmao? Didn’t really seem to matter anyway because the fighters dropped their payload before the last gun went down anyway, so they couldn’t have been that much of a threat
perhaps the EMP blast that knocked out radar also knocked out targeting system on 23mm autocannons and SAM. even cars and shit might die because of that blast unless they were modified to survive the blast.
It makes more sense bruh. Why tf would you want a KGB agent that knows every small aspect of the CIA and has worked closely with them before, have the possibility of regaining their memories and opping on you. Adler was perfectly reasonable with that shit.
@@a.k8185 Slightly better, millions of innocent end up dying, but at least one Russian agent who already had a hand in the deaths of countless people get to live. Give me a fucking break.
I hope there will be another blackops game called "Call of Duty Blackops: Cartel War" where we will see the CIA with Woods, Mason and Hudson hunting Raul Menendez and how Woods got captured in Angola and how all the things happened during the Invasion of Panama.
@Steven Ardian I know there is Blackops 2 man, but what I mean is not all of the stories of Woods were shown in that game like we need to see how Woods got really captured in Angola by Raul Menendez and how young David and Hudson got hostage by Raul Menendez during the Invasion of Panama.
@@Ziggy.. I mean more that Moscow would never have been daft enough to launch a war it knew it couldn’t win. That’s the whole point of MAD doctrine. The game implies a shadowy group of Soviet officers could exist and launch a nuclear strike without the Soviet leadership’s knowledge, a bit like in Black Ops one. Yet if there’s any country where that is possible, it’s the United States

“I hope you understand.” Thats quite like what shepherd said to soap in the ending of mw2 “I know you understand” Is what he said Both are about betrayal.
I’m seeing a lot of people defend this ending; Adler’s decision to shoot Bell, how he wasn’t “needed” anymore, and given that he regained his memories, he “could’ve been a risk”. What I don’t understand is, they needed him to find Perseus - so after learning where he supposedly was, why didn’t they kill Bell before? Furthermore, why kill him at all if Perseus is still out there? The importance of his role was made clear. Bell had history with the big man upstairs, and was given a chance to redeem himself by working against a former ally. If I recall correctly, Adler’s words to Bell were “you’re still one of us.” There was nothing that would have suggested otherwise. There was no clear logical motive, or foreshadowing of this decision. It’s as if the writers decided “hey, let’s just throw in a twist with no explanation for the sake of shock value”. Then left it on a cliffhanger, again, never to be addressed. At least, such was the case for Call of Duty Ghosts. Overall it was enjoyable for me, and kept me interested enough to see it through. There were some pretty nice callbacks, some interesting ideas. But the endings we got here felt rushed to me. Or am I the only one that feels this way?
you are absolutely right, however it may have been an act on hudson/black's behalves, as they both didnt like bell. adler is just an agent, he probably received the orders from the top to erase loose ends
Man the whole campaign shoulda been longer, if there was one cod game to stretch out longer than usual it was this one. I realized it when it does the close ups of Adler, Mason, and Woods on the aircraft carrier, two of them not really doing much to earn it.
Campaign felt rushed with only only a few notable missions(vietnam, and the call back to blackbird mission was cool) cutscenes also ran like shit on Xbox one
@Sherlock Whole mess but what did Adler have to risk? What, Bell was just gonna switch sides after helping Adler take down Perseus? Hell getting shot made very little sense, and if they were just covering up loose ends then why didn’t they kill Belikov? It just doesn’t make sense
@@thelonewanderer1114 heres how most fps work with a single player campaign and you get to make a custom character. you die in the end. you died in bo3 you died in cold war you died in halo reach. they can't keep your custom character alive cuz of story reasons.
@@Kiwiii He led a squad to track down Raul Menendez but got captured and was tortured for info. Dunno if he broke but they did kill his men infront of him and locked him up in a shipping container with the bodies.
I know this is a game and logic dont apply but it looks like they both have 1911s and neither has the hammer cocked so neither of them shot but one of them got shot. Game logic one of them shot the other
@@jedrzejjakielski1258 To be honest, knowing that Bell is a former Perseus agent and him knowing that he's been brainwashed. Bell is pretty much a loose end. He may act as a Perseus agent again, I know because a lot of people are angry at Adler for brainwashing Bell, so imagine when Bell found out he's brainwashed. If anything, Adler did the right thing having to kill Bell. He is tying up a loose end, and this time, it is an ACTUAL loose end.
Adler survived, as per Warzone cutscenes. Bell is M.I.A. The timeline after BOCW diverges. One leads into MW and WZ, and the other leads into BO2, BO4 and BO3.
I could be wrong but Bell won the pistol duel since you can see how he has Adler on target faster than him. he probably killed him and ran away and that’s why we don’t see either of them in Bo2
This was an awesome game! I think Bell needs another life in call of duty. Alder was good but I wish him and bell had a friendship, but instead he blows bell’s brain out
They was saying that had no use for bell in Break on through so when Perseus was dead they did not need bell anymore but yeah I kind of feel like they did him dirty.
This ending is so damn boring compared to the “worst ending.” It’s worse because this ending’s canon LOL Like I solved all the puzzles and got all the evidence, but this is it? And a slideshow at the end? Lame. BO2 did it better.
I mean, no fucking shit? This game takes place before BO2 and has to take into account that none of the new dudes are in it, hence why they die in the end. Secondly, it fits the whole "CIA and Soviets fucking everybody to get ahead of each other" theme by tying up loose ends, especially since the CIA now has massive liabilities running around. This ending is more realistic to me than the Soviet one, since that ending is an idealistic interpretation of what could have happened, but would never plausibly would.
Shut up its obvious why they can pass through without getting bombarded by bullets literally and figuratively: Plot armor. Plot armor wins over every thing in a game.
0:33 - Solovetsky operation intro looks like a mix of Top Gun and Heartbreak Ridge. I mean, you got F-14 Tomcats taking off into the "Danger Zone" and Marine wheeled Huey helo's carrying Adler's team to the site of the final battle. It's an amalgamation of epic proportions!
well the Vietcong and the North Vietnamese Army took down a couple of American jets in the Vietnam War with those "old time AA guns". It's not that unrealistic after all.
@@MikoyanGurevichMiG21 well they make do with what they have. But here, they're in the Russian heartland... And would at least have multiple SAMs launchers. Not WW2 AA Cannon...
Mason looks like if wreck it Ralph lost a ton of weight and woods sounds like a 17 year old trying to do his impression I have no idea why they decided to go this route
I think Bell shoted Adler first because he is younger than Adler, so his reacton time must be better, and also, if watch closely, you will see, that Bell pointed his gun faster at the Adlers opened chest, when Adler was slower, and if he shoot - he Will damge Bells hand but not to kill him
I think that Adler lived on, as in multiplayer he’s still alive and it’s set in the 90’s I believe. Or maybe it’s just putting him in multiplayer cause why not, just a theory
I like to think that Adler was planning to die after the whole operation with Bell being his self destruct button. One last prompt and Bell was just as ready to kill Adler. Both dying ensures MK Ultras secrecy (since it uses Adlers memories and Bell is a direct result of the project). Plus Bell was a ticking timebomb the CIA had to dispose.
His and the other ending confused me enough to think the Zombies story is the actual canon. Survivors of the corruption of Element 115 from all sides dig through many branches of reality to recruit someone whose capable of enduring twisted realities, by giving them impossible tech and supernatural-ish abilities as a test.
@@connorross4571 wdym by how, the universe just resseted and samantha and eddie are the only ones who escaped, they appear in the zombies of cold war and supossedly the zombies ocurr in the same universe as the campaign, that takes place in the same universe as mw 2019 and warzone.
@@syedabdulrauf4545 It’s ambiguous who gets killed in this ending. It’s likely Adler died seeing as he doesn’t show up later on and you play as the good guys in earlier games but if Bell survived, he probably would’ve just gone into hiding. Which explains his disappearance.
@@connorross4571 if you want to believe it, there's three timelines The one that leads to Black ops 2, 3 and 4 from this point forward. And the one where it leads into MW (the new one). I think cod bo cw sequel will hunt down Aldrich all his agents taking down Perseus and his spy network and rise of Perseus organization with the most cool villain of bo universe Raul Menendez
To be completely honest, Black Ops Cold War was a missed opportunity. Because they could have made an amazing game that really connects with Black Ops 1 and 2, especially when they set it in the Cold War. I always did think that the campaign was missing something, and I realized that that something was the chance to bring one of the most memorable characters in the fanchise back: Grigori Weaver. Imagine how pivotal he would be since he's Russian, and that he could give some Russian allies who won't betray you. I say it would give a good sense of Americans and Russians working together to stop the Cold War instead of the same song and dance that has turned into a cliché. And you would know why didn't Weaver return to Black Ops 2. I know Weaver was in Zombies, but come on. Is that the best Treyarch and Activision can do? In addition, we would also see Mason's reaction to Woods' return after Payback in Black Ops 1. Since if you listen to one of the flashbacks in Pyrrhic Victory in Black Ops 2, Woods said that he escaped Vietnam and returned to the United States in 1972 after being MIA (Missing in Action). And to get into a deeper history behind the friendship between Mason and Woods before the events of Black Ops Cold War. As well as to how Alex Mason had a family and got David Mason (Section) from Black Ops 2. If you ask me about the new voice actors for Mason, Woods and Hudson, I got no disrespect for anyone, but it could have been better with the OG voice actors. To be fair, Captain Price's new VA did a great job in Modern Warfare 2019. But the new ones for Mason, Woods and Hudson didn't do as great a Price's new VA, to be honest. And I felt like the new characters were a good addition, especially Adler. I never had any complains with them. But Bell, I felt like he/she/I don't give a f***, was an afterthought. Without a voice actor, I just can't connect, empathize or sympathize with Bell. And the fact that he/she/IDGAF is the one that determines the ending of the campaign, it just feels so empty since we don't know his thoughts and feelings at all throughout the game. I think they should have made Adler and Mason the playable characters. And maybe make Weaver playable at the last mission where he makes his final appearance which would explain his absence in Black Ops 2, like a sacrifice. But those are my thoughts.
no idea why they would use another "protagonist shoots you" ending, they should know that every cod player ever has had their loose-end detector fine tuned since MW2 smh with codplayer foresight bell would shoot first
