The Clap | Christian Walker Ejected for Clapping Too Loudly

During the bottom of the 5th inning during a game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Francisco Giants, Christian Walker got a call strike three on a check swing. The following inning while his teammate Ahmed is at the plate, he got two no swing calls on check swings. Walker would clap loudly to make a point with the umps and he was tossed by the home plate umpire.

Honestly, umpires should be fined or sent down to the minors for this kind of bullshit, and MLB should announce it publicly, like they do when a player gets fined or sent down.

When I was in umpire school, or at clinics, we were always told, to always work to keep the player/ manager in the game. Most of these umpire's have the biggest rabbit ears it is ridiculous. They have to be publicly reprimanded an fined/suspended.

I’m getting so sick of umpires throwing out players for petty reasons. This one, the Max Scherzer incident, and JT Realmuto in spring training. MLB needs to implement harsher punishment to umpires, when the ejection isn’t justified. it’s becoming ridiculous. these “officials”, get their feelings hurt a little too easily nowadays.

We need to stop defending umpires for stupid shit like this! Umpires are ego maniacs who throw you out for so much as looking at them the wrong way! It's time to suspend or even fire the umpires at this point. If players and managers being suspended is public knowledge, it's time for an umpire being suspended to become public knowledge. When I was learning how to officiate baseball, they taught us to be decisive, humble, patient, and thick skinned. If you're not mentioned in the post game discussions, (other than good hustling) you probably called a great game. Seems that some umpires want to be dictators on the field.

Umpire Alfonso Marquez-a fully grown 51 year-old man-got his feelings hurt over clapping and gesturing. Looks like someone needs to spend a little time with a therapist to learn how to process his butthurt in a healthy way without ejecting people from the game.
